I really really like the idea of the Arlathvehn as a follow-up. I have a more difficult time seeing a non-Dalish Inquisitor being invited to one, but maybe they'll make an exception. Maybe the Dalish agents vouches for the Inquisitor?

 

Well, the Arlathvehn was supposed to take place outside Halamshiral. It's possible it still may (especially if the Breach has been dealt with), although I imagine Clan Lavellan (if they survived) may not attend if Keeper Deshanna Istimaethoriel is busy in Wycome.

 

This also would be the time that Lavellan clan's possible demise can be brought up properly. It was a bummer how there was no reaction to getting the entire clan wiped out in the war table missions.

 

Yeah, it's jarring how you can't address your clan's fate either way. I believe Weekes said the war table quest was done too late in production for any VA work to be done acknowledging it, so I imagine DLC may be the only opportunity. Or a patch with new content.

I have a question that I would love to see an opinion and a why.

In the Mythal Temple, the well, did you guys drink from it or allowed a human (Morrigan) to take the power? It'll be nice to know why.

I did not.  My Lavellan is a rogue and though not fearful of magic - knowing it's nothing more than a tool - she has a healthy respect for what it can do.  She's incredibly sharp and realized that even if Mythal was dead or gone she would be bound to something and at the end of it, she couldn't do that to herself.  Probably to her detriment, she used Solas a compass - by that point - so when he 'noped' out of that it sort of sealed the deal.  So she sat there for a little while and realized that this knowledge - though possibly helpful - could be absolutely meaningless. It's knowledge of people that died thousands of years ago from a world that "died" thousands of years ago.  She didn't want to turn into the guardians; dying men and women clinging to a the rotting corpse of an empire long gone.  Her people deserved better than that. Let Morrigan take it.  

 

The Inquisition changed her. She saw how much she grew as a person. How much she learned and saw how wide the world was - she is an adventurer at heart - and that was because she got to meet all those new people.  She saw there were more problems in the world than what the Dalish faced and she felt it incredibly unfair to say on person's poverty was worse than another.  She was rankled by the injustices that Orlais inflicted on not just the elves but the humans.  When Keeper Deshanna was placed on the city council at Wycome she was affirmed in her belief that she need to forge a new path for the Dalish. She wanted to help them join the rest of the world and help the rest of the world to see they deserved to equals.

That's an interesting theory. Care to elaborate that?

Well, I'm not sure yet, but I'm thinking a power struggle of some sort. Could be the sons conspired to overthrow Elgar'nan and Mythal got into the middle of it somehow. Perhaps, she stood between them and an Elgar'nan who wanted to kill them, and so he killed her instead for revenge. Or maybe they sided against her with Elgar'nan, and betrayed her.

I just find it interesting, how her first children were male, but then she goes on to only pass her essence to females/ daughters. That would imply she feels betrayed specifically by males/sons. If Fen'Harel sympathized or sided with her, he could be an exception there. It's interesting how she seems to give her power to him willingly. I don't think she would trust just anyone. But perhaps she now also feels betrayed by a daughter (Morrigan), and so tables have turned.

I think I read somewhere too that most BW writers are asked to write romances for their characters, but Weekes has to be asked not to write romances for his characters. It was tongue-in-cheek, and maybe it was in reference to that exchange! Weekes seems like a big softie

Weekes is one of the ones responsible for Taly and Garrus being romance options in ME2, so I am not surprised.

Yeah, at least my Falon'Din one was a bit more subtle anyway. 

 

Wonder how someone using that full-Braveheart style Elgar'Nan one feels. That would be a change. 

 

My Lavellan has the full-on Elgar'nan vallaslin, though I chose to keep it because that fit her more. I'll try having it removed when I run through with her again, eventually, when I finally get a PC with graphics that don't suck so much. I'll post some pics here when it happens.

Hey my lovelies!!! I have a favor to ask. I turned my art partner who shares a studio with me into a Solasmancer. She fell HARD. Like, I actually felt bad I talked her into it cause for days she had a lost puppy face. I had to convince her to finish the game. Now she has and she is soo glad she did and is on the Solas DLC club. It's really nice I can have someone IRL that I can fan girl with, with out looking like a crazy adult woman.
Anyways! Now she knows the major spoiler, I want to share so many fanarts, fabrics and videos and just all the things that were to spoilers before.
Anyone recommend some of their favourites (with links) I can send her as a Solas recovery kit?

When I see your screenshots I wonder, do you never give him the Dalish armor? Because I think it is really nice. It's a shame Solas is the only companion who can wear it.

 

 

It looks like they used the broken elf male model on this one instead of Solas' model. I didn't use it because the shoulders looked too small, not like Solas' shoulders.

Sorry for the long post. You guys keep posting interesting things and I can't keep up.

I imagine it would take a lot to get him to give up his agenda, as it probably should.  Hopefully his story-line turns out better than "PC beats the sense into elven god's thick, hairless skull".

 

I agree with this wholeheartedly. In the disapproval conversation below, Solas says he's joined multiple causes and that he's grown tired of fighting. If there was a way to fulfill his mission and stay with the Inquisitor, I think he would have done so. It doesn't seem like just stubborn pride to me.

 

 

 

So...anyone else who removed the vallaslin kinda regret the decision afterwards because their Inquisitor looks so bloody different without them? Like, jarringly so? I don't even know, she looks entirely different. 

 

Yes, it's weird getting used to it. But from a player perspective, I think it's awesome because the relationship with Solas has literally changed Lavellan forever. There's a vulnerability there that I hope isn't tossed away in future encounters.

 

Ah, I like where you're going with that. They couldn't be killed or destroyed, so their power was split up. That makes so much sense. The taint is an attempt at reconstituting power and gathering back up the pieces.

 

I love this theory! If an immortal cannot be truly destroyed, then splitting it into pieces to dilute the power makes perfect sense. Also, ugh! I denied Morrigan the dark ritual and let my Warden die instead because I thought it was the 'right' thing to do. To think that her sacrifice made things worse in the long run... It's just the kind of thing that would happen in the DA universe.

Well, to be perfectly fair, my Lavellan doesn't particulary consider herself "one of the elves" either. She did her best to fit in with the clan, but she always felt like she didn't. Like she was different Somehow, and it made her kind of lonely. In my headcanon, she kept to herself a lot, enjoyed exploring the forest, wished they would travel somewhere new instead of circUlating around all of the places they had already been. She only volunteered for the conclave because she wanted to get away, see the world, and very seriously considered never coming back even before the whole "will you lead our inquisition" bit. For her, that was really one of the things that attracted her to Solas in the first place. He could just go where he wanted whenever he wanted, travel the world, travel the fade, see new things all the time. I think she would have been very happy doing just that, traveling the world with him. Then neither of them would have ever had to feel alone again.

 

That's exactly how I imagine my Lavellan as well.  An outsider. She was found alone in the forest by the Dalish after her parents had been killed. She never felt at home with the Dalish and often went into the forest to explore by herself, being gone for several days at a time.

True. Keeper Deshanna is sure to be kept busy for a while. I'd love to be able to meet the Ralaferin clan; Neria and Cillian, Dalish Inquisition agents from multiplayer, are both from that clan. Also, Keeper Gisharel (is she even still alive?). They get around!

 

A patch with new content, like with cutscenes and everything? I'd be pleasantly surprised if they added that in! I've been tossing this idea in my head that after finding out what happened to Clan Lavellan, the Inquisitor is joined in their quarters (or elsewhere, doesn't matter) by their romance interest to offer comfort - if no romance is active, then the companion with the highest approval rating. Or even even provide an option to grieve alone, for the stoics. The death of an entire clan warrants some sort of reaction.
