I'm just gonna take a nap and I'll be on your trail soon. I want my answers Wolf! k, thanks, luv ya~ *wink* *wink*"

Haha I think I can write all of that if I include upgrades and weapons~

I stopped being a teenager a long long looooong time ago, but my room was 100% metal!

Aww cute, you never looked at the wiki!

For now it's mainly a collection of all the fan theories that were developed by the people here. We copy any new (reasonable/sensible) theory there and collect related posts. And then somebody who's good at doing that/enjoys it makes a coherent text from all those posts.

can you give me a link to this wiki page? i've never seen a collection of theories on wiki.

'' You have the features of those who call themselves ELVHEN ''

If you are for example a human he doesn't say that. Odd right?

And that is odd because...?

Well, Elvhenan spanned the entire continent, while Arlathan was the capital, so it seemed like some of the Dalish are descended directly from Arlathan elves specifically; it seemed to be why my Surana Warden couldn't ask Finn why his blood couldn't be used instead, like Mahariel can during that scene.

My Surana could ask, as far as I know, all elven Wardens can.  By the time Arlathan fell, there was no more Elvhenan.  All modern, non ancient elves descend from the slaves taken from Arlathan.  The old Dales, which is where the modern Dalish come from, was originally populated by those slaves from Tevinter who chose to live there after they were granted the land by Andraste's sons.  The old Dalish elves who didn't join the Dalish clans went to the alienages and became the City Elves.  And of course there's likely still elves in Tevinter who are descended from Arlathan slaves who never went to the Dales.

at the temple of mythal ONLY if you are an ELF Abelas says to you

'' You have the features of those who call themselves ELVHEN ''

If you are for example a human he doesn't say that. Odd right?

And even Solas mentions you to show him the wisdom he hasn't seen since the ancient elves.

JUST A COINCIDENCE? I DON'T THINK SO! I think we have some old elvhen blood right there!!!!!

He's refering to the Dalish. At lesat that's the way I've interpreted that sentence.

Of course. http://virdirthan.wikispaces.com/  Mardrar initiated it. Everybody is invited to contribute. It is not polished yet (design, organisation etc.) but will be in due time, I am sure.

It's a shame, really. Briala is my favorite character from TME - she really cared about the elves, went through such turmoil and hardship, tried so hard to put her faith in Celene even after Halamshiral, and discovered what happened to her parents - only to risk it all in dedication to helping the Orlesian elves, and even extending a hand to the Dalish as long as everyone was treated equally. However, you don't really get much insight into the character, or even into the massacre of Halamshiral.

I was surprised, given Briala's unpleasant experience with Thelhen, the warleader, and Mihris, that she might make mention of how different Lavellan is in comparison to the Dalish she encountered, but it's never really addressed.

Yeah, from what I've read from people who've read the books, she's struggled so hard to help the elves for so long, and we barely get a feather of that impression just from watching the game.

Honestly, Briala sounds like an Orlesian version of my City Elf Warden, who also spent every waking moment struggling to help her people, approached the Dalish hoping they would embrace her as a sister and help her people (while the reality didn't match the expectation, I imagine she remained on good terms with Lanaya's clan, often went to visit, and often brought the Dalish's knowledge back to her alienage) and placed her trust in helping the elves into a charismatic female human noble who became queen (Anora), only to become disillusioned, realize the person she trusted turned on her people to further her own power, then realized she would have to take her people's fate into her own hands. (I imagine the main reason my Warden Tabris traveled West to find a cure for the Calling was because she realized Ferelden human nobles would never treat her people fairly without the Hero of Ferelden around to enforce changes, and realized she needs to live longer to make sure the changes were permanent. Also, so she and Warden Alistair could live long and happy together.)

And Briala is kind of similar to Lavellan. Both want so badly to help the elves and will go to great lengths to help their people. Briala makes that off-handed insult, "Finally slumming through one of the alienages of your people, I see?" but we can't connect with or reach out to her in a meaningful way at all. I headcanoned that my Lavellan wants so badly to help elves everywhere, regardless of their cultural background (contrary to the xenophobic Dalish stereotype), and constantly feels like she's being punched in the gut when fellow elven characters accuse her not caring.

I do think that the characters could have been more fleshed out. We really get little insight into them or their motivations, despite being tasked with the choice to support one over the others.

As for Michel, after reading about his initiation into the chevaliers (and their initiation rite in general), I had some issues with him. I would have preferred offering Mihris an opportunity to join the Inquisition, since she seemed to have no one, now that her clan was massacred.

Yeah... I don't know. I get the feeling that, when writing the game, the writers kind of thought, "We already explored this in the book, so there's no need to go into too much detail here. Players will have read the book / can read the book to learn more about this." And I don't think it's right. I feel like the writers should pretend like the books were not written, and flesh out the characters and explain the conflict as though this were the first game in the series.

Just look at Loghain. The Stolen Throne goes into more detail about his past and motivations, but one can still get pretty keen insight into his past and motivations in the game without picking up the book. It's not like he makes it a secret that he lived under Orlesian occupation, suffered horrible abuse under the chevaliers, pretty much gave Maric his victory in the Ferelden Revolution, and did what he did in Origins because he legitimately believed he was saving Ferelden (the nation) from Orlesian occupation.

DAI characters? Not so much. The books can make or break your opinions on them, because without the books you learn next to nothing about them.

Oh, I knew. And I figured Revas would know, too, since it's hardly a secret that the elven population was purged. I sided with Briala. I remember watching her final scene scene and thinking, "I remember Halamshiral."

True, one can learn about Celene purging an alienage while she and Briala were an item without reading the book, but still... my character felt a little guilty for letting Celene die when she came to the palace specifically to protect her (and felt dirty for playing the Game to someone's fatality). If I'd known more details about how awful Celene was to Briala and her own elven subjects, I wouldn't have felt as guilty.

I also wouldn't have recruited Michal as an agent or restored his standing in the Orlesian court if I'd known his history with elves. >_<

I would think all elves are descendants of ancient elves? Barring maybe one or two rare exceptions, but. Most elves were apart of the empire.

Maybe its more like... Descendants of ancient elvhen royalty?

Because every relationship a person enters into, fictional or real, must be healthy and perfect and end in sunshine and rainbows.

Which is... beyond my understanding. Because that ISN'T how the real world works. But apparently video games should be the whited sepulcher of PSA announcements.

I just really don't understand. Even if you are offering a critique, why on earth would you think Weekes/Gaidar did it deliberately? Why attack them? Bioware is probably the most progressive game company out there.

I just hope we don't burn them out with all of this fanhating. It bothers me when people can't enjoy their work.

I also deliberately sent Solas off with all my best custom crafted gear. My Lavellan is worried about him and if he won't let her come along, she's at least going to equip him for whatever he has to do on his own.

I was remembering a W.B. Yeats poem last night, thinking it would have served as a poignant goodbye letter from Solas:

WHEN YOU ARE OLD

When you are old and grey and full of sleep,
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;

How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true,
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face;

And bending down beside the glowing bars,
Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled
And paced upon the mountains overhead
And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.

So apparently PW has bend getting a lot of hate on his Twitter feed. This makes me very sad. I may feel broken hearted as a direct result of something he wrote, but honestly, I love the man. He made us feel something. He made us care about someone. That is truly the mark of a good writer. I hope we are all behaving ourselves outside this forum as well as we typically behave in here. I'm sure we are. This is the nicest group of people on the Internet.

Yeah, this really saddens me.  Maybe they don't always get everything perfect (and I don't believe everything needs to be or should be), but they seem to genuinely care so much, it hurts to see them receive so much hate.

Neither Finn nor Ariane address Surana or Tabris as a possibility; it's only brought up if Mahariel is the Warden, and then it's explained by Finn that she isn't a possibility due to the taint making her blood "different". Technically speaking, you're correct, and it is possible that either Surana or Tabris may be descended from Arlathan, as opposed to another area of Elvhenan.

I honestly don't understand why some Dalish elves are regarded as being descended directly from Arlathan, or why Finn was so insistent that Ariane's blood would work because of this (although he does have access to elven tomes taken by the Circle after the fall of the Dales, but I still can't imagine how anyone would know this). It's never elaborated on.

And there's something wrong with IB romance? I've only read about his romance from wikia page. There's something unhealthy with calling Quizzy "Kadan"?

Hate to say it, but as much as I hated Mass Effect 3's ending, I bet a good portion of those people who complained en masse got comfortable doing this. Not that its anywhere near as huge but I feel like that will forever be a part of the community culture.

Well let's see. I forget exactly how it happened but on twitter and tumblr, some people were giving Gaider and Weekes a hard time about Iron Bull and Dorian's relationship. Calling it abusive and blaming them for not giving Dorian enough agency on it. They said some aspects of their romance was triggering things for them and they were blaming them for not reading their minds and making perfect relationships.

It was a very immature discussion and would've been more valid if they didn't start personally attacking them.

It's not that. Bull and Dorian hook up if none of them is romanced by the Quizzy. You can hear it through party banter, so if you don't take them out on the same team you can't hear the dialogue. Some people don't like the relationship 'cause they believe Bull is not respectful enough... even if Dorian seems pretty happy in the end: when you talk to him after Coryfish is dead, he says he's going to stay because of Bull.
