My guess is that Abelas and the Sentinels have reached out to the Dalish before, expecting fellow Sentinels bereft of Temples. Why, they have quite the eclectic mix, with most of the gods represented.

Only to discover the Dalish can barely speak their own tongue, the poor sods.

So he probably spotted the vallaslin, and was all, "Oh. You're one of them, aren't you? Glad to see you chose Mythal, at least. Must be nice, not actually being bound in magical servitude. *sigh* Let's hope I speak your silly human language well enough..."

Yeah, the scene with his father does reveal that Dorian hides a lot of pain and anguish behind his more playful facade. That his father tried to 'change' him must weigh heavily on him. If he found love with someone who accepted him for who he is and doesn't want to change him, all the more power to him.

 

And that playful teasing between them is really cute... It is Herren and Wade revisited but even better.

Personally,even though I'm not a big fan of Michel,despite his positive qualities,my inquisitor would certainly choose him over Imshael even though my inquisitor didn't know that both were responsible for the slaughter of the clan.
Talking about Imshael,I find it odd that he didn't seem to recognise Solas and if he did recognise him,didn't comment on it,even in a cryptic manner.

 

Felassan could communicate with Imshael without verbally speaking, so if Solas and Imshael had acknowledged each other, we probably wouldn't have been aware of it.

I don't know if will be ever revealed but I would enjoy Cole revealing Lavellan the truth to stop the hurting and if you haven't romanced Solas, you're still confused and Cole is hurting because the memories and sadness of Solas still linger and they still hurt. I see Cole as a very good friend to my Lavellan and I wish they don't exclude him out of the incoming dlcs.

Perhaps it has something to do with Lavellan's lineage, since the elves once ruled Thedas (Elvhenan), long before the humans migrated to Par Vollen from somewhere else.

Don't get me wrong I like unicorns and rainbows as much as the next person.But people should undestand that DA is set in a gritty,dark universe.
Ofcourse not everything is going to be ideal,and as long as the darker aspects of the game are portrayed as such and not disguised as ideal I'm totally fine with them existing.
Because let's be real fantasy is fantasy,true but there are different aspects of reality,adressed in each genre of fantasy.

 

I think the problem is that certain people think that just by having problematic elements in a video game, it's already making light of them. Portraying an abusive relationship in a video game is unnecessary and only serves to trigger players. The thing is, video games can have problematic or disturbing elements but only the ones that aren't involved in their particular agenda. Murder and brutality and genocide? Whatever bro. A relationship that has possible "abusive" elements? TRIGGERED, TAKE IT OUT.

 

Both are things that are very much real in the real world and yet it's only those things they complain about. They want to pick and choose which problematic storylines should and shouldn't be in a video game and cite that video games should be escapism and thus shouldn't remind them of those things. And yet there's no issue with blood or death or loss being in the games. Gritty realism mixed with fantasy is always what DA did, and that extends far beyond just killing.

 

To an extent I understand. Smaller things like abusive elements in relationships hit much closer to home for more people, since most people playing video games don't experience murder and brutality. However, if content makes me uncomfortable because of how much it reminds me of bad things in reality, I don't demand it leave the game (as long as it's not handled as a joke or anything). If I can't handle it, I avoid the content and recognize the genre of game I'm playing. To demand that story elements are taken out is censorship, plain and simple. I will never, ever support that in any art form, especially when it isn't just inserted for laughs or not taken seriously.

Been catching up while having a coffee.  So many fantastic posts today, I think I have used up all of my likes!

 

I just saw Patrick's tweet when I was checking twitter, and I am bummed .  It really bothers me when people sling hate at them.  These people pour so much into making these worlds for us to escape into.  During crunch time they spend more time at work than they do with their families.  Yes critique when there is cause for it, speak concerns (respectfully), but being toxic and hateful?  Absolutely shameful.  I think BioWare fans are more than likely the most passionate fandom.  But ever since ME3 it's been far too negative and hateful.  What happens when they decide that it's too much of a bother to make games for us?  I hope it never comes to that.

 

Boy I sure hope GDL was hinting at DLC in that video!

It was enough to result in him willingly abandoning Mihris' body, so it must have been something very impressive.  Demons are usually clingy to a host.

 

I've also wondered if it was simply along the lines of "Fen'Harel is coming".

Probably the usual threats of death and dismemberment because they have nothing better to do than be a pain in someone's side over something miniscule because they're too closed minded to wrap their heads around the idea that things aren't always what they seem. Classic case of biting the hand that feeds them. Jeez. PW and DG have been so kind, letting us into the writing process a little, answering some of our questions, trying to make a game that is fun and exciting as well as thought provoking and realistic... and some people are too selfish to see that. All they see is what they want to see. Their own sick view of the world projected onto Thedas. That's probably why there is red lyrium. It's been corrupted by fan negativity.

The face!! The bottom face!! It's so derpy and adorable! I love that little bug. I'm pretty sure Bioware felt the same and left it there. I loved it every time her eyes crossed like that.

Potentially Lavellan becoming something more if he drinks from the Well of Sorrows, perhaps? Especially if Asha'bellanar isn't around to dictate what knowledge Lavellan has access to. Lavellan does become a conduit to cosmic elven forces.
