This is kind of weird of me to say, but the fade? I looked at this drawing when I was out of focus and I saw an eye.

Like the entire thing being an eye. The pupil, the iris, the cornea (figuratively, it's the transparent dome over the front of the eye, it shields the eye from dust, so.. the bricks in the picture), perhaps the limbal ring? And the sclera, which is another protective part of the eye. Oh oh and the Black City is the lens behind the pupil!

 

 

I'm being silly though.

 

Anyhow, even though these eyes appear to be related to Fen'Harel (the tower card) I think they speak of the Nightmare demon's domain (the Nightmare demon.. has.. a lot.. of eyes).

Perhaps the fade has a layered construction. The first layer can be entered by the dreamers and mages (the bricks are there to symbolize the passage between these worlds). There are two layers beyond that, the first one appears to be constructed of lots of tiny bricks, so sort of the difference between being there an unknowning dreamer and being there as a mage (who used lyrium) or a Dreamer (like.. those special mages)

 

The inner layer is the physical layer, can be entered if we go through the veil. Within it are domains of demons, spirits etc. and in the middle the Black City. I think it has stars around it to symbolize how unreachable it is. 

And here I thought it was Thedas... The fade probably makes more sense.

Something like Ministry.  Frankly any speed metal.  Fast industrial.  It makes her blood sing.  If Cassandra is there, they listen to angry chick rock like Seven Year ******, Veruca Salt, or Bikini Kill.

I heartily approve of the image of Sethius Amladaris flaunting his fabulous high heels and striped stockings and gorgeous eyes to the dour and whispery Architect.

As a darkspawn with amnesia, the Architect was never quite sure why he felt the compulsive need to stockpile Tevinter fashion magazines and make himself a gloriously purple and gold outfit.

But as he could never quite get the hang of wearing heels, he took to floating around like a magical badass.

I don't know, I'm of the old film school thinking that fight music should never be terribly far from dance music so playing ultra energetic songs over a fight scene seems natural. Also I'm seeing a lot of suggestions of music I just don't like and that's all I'm going to say about that.

 

Also: this, this, and for delicate duels that need pacing and run entirely off style this.

 

Oh, right we're talking specifically about our Inquisitor. In that case Athanaea Lavellan goes in with Gustavo Santaolalla playing. and not The Last Of Us Gustavo Santaolalla but Motorcycle Diaries Gustavo Santaolalla where the Spanish guitar is always on.

Wait... I'm sorry thread, I'm going to have to forsake you all and your Lavellans for a moment as several parts of my mind are currently working out how a Solas/Fiona ship. Fiona's what? 50 something at least. The relationship probably just sounds like both of them sharing a sense of "young people these days" and Solas doing a not especially good job of hiding that he's thousands of years old.

 

At the same my Lavellan's primary motivation for stopping Boy Meets World's Cory-pheus Matthews is catalyzed entirely by Fiona, a thought that will take explaining but that I really need to write down. My Lavellan is in her early 30s so I'd gather her mother is still alive and not much older than Fiona so Lavellan can't help but see the former in the latter no matter how embarrassed Lavellan would feel if people knew she was impressing a maternal figure onto the Grand Enchanter. Speaking of the Grand Enchanter, the only other elven mage leading something Lavellan has experience with is Keeper Istimaethoriel, so impressing her onto Fiona happens. Anyway this ultimately culminates in Lavellan seeing Fiona trapped in the red lyrium growing out of her in the bad future and seeing her mother and Keeper Istimaethoriel in her place. This is the thing that makes a crisis Lavellan felt purposely detached from into something she realizes she should be actively working to avoid.

 

Bah! I hate writing headcanon. What was that? 30 minutes of writing for something you'll just glance over. It feels like such an unnecessary spilling of private thoughts but I can't help that they make me feel clever.

 

Anyway yeah, Fiona's pretty awesome, and that thing HurricaneGinger said on their Tumblr. Also the third headcanon is that for a male Trevelyan Inquisitor the relationship with Fiona is just The Graduate.

Oh, we're very open with liberties, especially reagarding sexual preferances or religion. But sometimes that means it gets blown out of proportions/exagerated instead. Like with the Hen situation.  And yes, it's used in real life not just a thought. Many daycares, especially in the capital, use it as a real term.  

    

 

Yeah, it's interesting that its always daughters with Flemeth(Mythal), never sons. But maybe she just never 'had' any sons. She seems very carring for Kieren though. 

Flemeth's talking how both she and Mythal being betrayed by men when she meets the IQ in the fade.(?) And its confirmed that at least Flemeth was betrayed/fooled by a man. Maybe thats' why she doesn't trust the male gender.

Could also be that she'd female, and her essense only can be tranfered to one with the same gender. Wouldn't explain Solas though.

  

Could also haven been a lover's quarrel spinning out of control that started the conflict.(?)

Someone being unfaithful or loving the same woman, revenge beacuse of that and so forth. Would explain Solas's use of the words "puny fudes and vendettas"

It's very simple. He's happy. It's the genuine happiness of someone who hasn't been loved in a while feeling that he is wanted by someone he also likes.

I don't know if will be ever revealed but I would enjoy Cole revealing Lavellan the truth to stop the hurting and if you haven't romanced Solas, you're still confused and Cole is hurting because the memories and sadness of Solas still linger and they still hurt. I see Cole as a very good friend to my Lavellan and I wish they don't exclude him out of the incoming dlcs. 

 

But Solas made Cole forget, at least when you've made him more like a spirit. he says a few words that Solas has told him after the ending but after he doesn't know it himself.
