I have a question
How many scenes Solas romans has? I am after balcony scene and already after Adamant and it seems so deficient when I compare it to Cullen romance.

10/10 WOULD GIVE FOCI AGAIN.. in exchange for super creepy Transexual Tevinter Emperium musical and awkward flirt options. DLC comes with barf bag.
It's interesting how most of you are kidding about wanting to romance the Architect and Cornflakes, and here I am going, "Preach it, sister! I got milk for a bowl of cornflakes ready to go." ![]()
I guess I just have a 'special' and 'unique' and 'WTF is wrong with him?' taste when it comes to Magisters. ![]()

Bring him to Wicked Hearts for a little romance thing. After that you're done until the third actual romance scene closer to the end.

Wait are you legit one of those people attracted to him?
Those people are real, you know. They say it's his voice and his eyes.

Look at YouTube videos of the full Cullen/Solas romances and Cullen loses. He gets about 40 (or so) minutes screen time while Solas has 65 or something.
Solas scenes: introduction, arrival in Haven, talk about orb after attack, talk in Fade (Haven), after personal quest, balcony, after temple, after end fight PLUS a lot of contributions in missions.
Cullen scenes: arrival in Haven, talk after attack, 2 lyrium addiction scenes, start of romance, sex scene, ending plus some advisor scenes.
Also, Solas has more dialogue.
(Maybe I forgot something, I don't claim completeness...)

I'm surprised Cullen has that much screentime compared to Solas honestly. He's stuck in that warroom after all. But then, we really only get cutscenes in main missions so it makes sense I guess.

Though it also occurs to me that his stories of wandering old ruins and going to sleep and discovering history weren't actually a lie. Maybe he's been awake for some time, doing just that, to learn what he could about the world's current state. He just wasn't really powerful enough to do much else, or wanted to make sure he had a clear picture of how things are and explore other avenues (like approaching the Dalish) before proceeding with (or conceiving of) his Master Plan.
I tend to think the same - had thought of this when he tells about Sera that he actually envies her, as she's quick to act and he "spend already too much time observing rather than acting". I understood this as him thinking of himself: "all right, enough sleepwalking, time for action".
Still wonder though when did he

Spoiler: was it just before the Conclave or maybe years ago after the big "shut up" of the Old Gods? Why did he trust Cory? Besides, of course, the "dread puppy" theory which makes me laugh and sound convincing at the same time)) :

LOL that image is awesome.
I don't think he trusted Cornflakes, I just think he expected it to kill him. He probably just didn't know about his awesome archdemon powers that allowed him to regenerate.
Someone mentioned earlier how surprised Solas looked when seeing that the first time. That's a good case for the theory.

Solas saved the game for me. My first play through was as a human mage and she romanced Cullen. For me, the romance was okay but a bit boring. I didn't get the 'OMG, I love this guy, have to find out everything about him!' feels that I got with Solas. I didn't touch the game for about a month and then finally decided to roll an elf for Solas' romance. I'm now on my second elf play through just for Solas feels. ![]()

That is pretty ruthless though, isn't it? Would our good hearted Solas do it by purpose? ![]()
I tend to think there is something more background on this, maybe some collaboration in the past...? I don't know, again just speculating, but... do you think Fen'Harel could have helped the magisters in the fall of Arlathan (and this could be the moment the big "lock out" could take place) and this is how the orb got into Cory's hands?
Thoughts, ideas, theories?

Where'd anyone get the idea that Solas couldn't be ruthless? Remember those stupid ass Kirkwall mages he fucked up?
If you let him that is. Which... I DID
Then I pissed on the ashes. Such ilk gives the other mages a bad name.
Anyway, I'm sure he's familiar with the taint. I assume he did this after Cornflakes was transformed. Do people think he gave it before? Even if he did, I'm sure he's aware of the pit stain that is the Tevinter Magisterium.

Well, yeah, I didn't let him for my 1st playthrough, and all the other 3: "sure, go on mate"
But the situation with mages was different: this was a kill in rage, after they caused the suffering and death of his friend; quite an obvious motivation, even if I could never totally approve it (just like many people I was shocked for the 1st time seeing this calm, polite guy going berserk). For the same reasons I always understood Sera impatient to get her hands on the noble who "killed her Red Jenny friend" - that's the same situation (btw, again Solas/Sera similarities and differences. I'm not going into Andruil reference, not going, just can't go this way).
Although giving a powerful artefact to someone potentially tainted and with dreams of godlike power, while thinking: "unlock it and I hope it will kill you" is a super badass attitude for me and does not fit me to Solas at all. What fits me more is that the orb must have been given before Cory was who he is now (so no red lyrium, stripped stockings & high heels psycho), because either Fen'Harel trusted him, either for some reason thought the cooperation with Cory would be useful for some reason.

Alright you guys, what happened to the thread after I went to bed last night? Some alien took over or something? In the last pages it's gone more and more completely doolally
As usual a summary from me (and a very long post)
True...But everyone else remembers Solas, does that mean that Cole (the one that could probably spoil all his plans) doesn't remember Solas any longer....that saddens me to think that Solas made a friend forget about him.
I thought Weekes confirmed that Solas didn't make Cole forget, he just blocked Cole from reading him. Which is interesting, in the context of how Felassan was able to mentally communicate with Imshael. Maybe that's just an ancient elf thing? Where they could telepathically communicate with spirits, because they were a bit spirit-like themselves?
I don't think he's forgot him completely, just the few things he was able to read from him before Solas stopped him. So that he couldn't tell more to the IQ probably or interfere.
"I'm sorry, Cole. But with your gift I fear that you'll might see the path I know must walk in solitude forever. Indeed, I wouldn't wish this upon an enemy, much less someone I once cared for. Though you reach out in compassion, I must now insist that you forget,"
It might be that this was what Solas did to him/said when he stopped cole during a banter where Cole revealed a bit to much about him. And that Cole suddenly remembered it. And that there might be more fragments coming from him later.
But it might also have been something that he did to him right before he left, beacuse he knew to much.
In any event, I'm very curious to know what he was refering to. The friend/one he cared for that he talked about might be the IQ but it could also be Flemeth/Mythal.
Well, one is a qunari and the other is a slavery-apologist Vint. And now they've hooked up.
That's what makes the romance so great in my eyes. When romancing Dorian I defenitively will do so as a Qunari.
A book about the fall of Arlathan would be amazing.
No! Though it isn't the idea I don't like, it's just that the books/comics aren't that easy to get your hands on for everyone and they becomes very expensive. I had to pay a fortune for my ME comics beacuse I had to order them from overseas.
So plz, better it be a DLC.

I guess people have a different view on him depending on how they played. I saw the romance only on youtube, so my perspective is from a Bromance, and I always saw Solas as a closet badass. For me, that incredibly ruthless and badass strategy is exactly what I'd expect from the man that sealed away all the gods and supposedly created the veil in the first place.
That was born from necessity, as Cole would have us believe. I think he'd go to those drastic measures if he saw no other way. Some might say he didn't do so with the Herald, but Mythal provided him another way, so it wasn't necessary.
