How does he and Solas interact in a party? Beyond the beginning of the game, I never kept that pairing.

Same here, as soon as I get Cole he gets benched. I run past him shouting "LOOK VARRIC YOU HAD AN ENTIRE GAME TO FOLLOW ME AROUND ALREADY! DON'T LOOK AT ME LIKE THAT!"

I've listened to all the audio(but I play rogues, so Varric doesn't get to stay), they seem pretty philosophical.  Take the Cole humanizing vs. not and that is pretty much a lot of their banter.  Except much more conceptual.

I don't think saying they have chemistry together cheapens their dynamic at all. Flirting doesn't always have to be overtly romantic. People who get along really well often have a subtly flirty back-and-forth, like Dorian and a female Inquisitor. I agree that their interactions during the game are platonic, but Solas seems more comfortable with her than most of the other companions, and he shows that by loosening up around her. Do I think it would work given the events of the game and all of the context surrounding them? No. But if we're talking "in another world" then I can see them possibly growing close. Their personalities are very compatible.

I guess that stretches the definition of flirting to non-meaning, for me. If all it means is friendly repartee, then a lot of people are flirting without knowing it. And would be pretty shocked to hear they are. 

 

But, possibly I'm just reluctant to jump on "ship" bandwagons because it seems like half of fandom is about that and it's often so silly. I find their mutual understanding surprising and moving. Don't hear anything romantic, nor could I see that ever happening even "in another world."

Friendly. Solas and varric have some really good banter. Varric seems to bond with Solas in the same way Cassandra does.

That's fine news. But "the development team is actively looking for a way to allow players to alter their character’s appearance"? Is that supposed to be a joke? Actively looking for a way? They have the functions, it's all there, and they did it before. All they have to do implement a function call, it's not like there was magic at work. This just sounds ridiculous.

They'll probably have to change the lighting though, because we won't be in the Fade anymore like in the CC. At least, I hope so.
