Haha, looks about equal. I'll see how it goes then!
Solassians!
It appears there is another patch for the PC version. No patch notes, but there's a patch all the same.
Where is the 3rd patch for the consoles!!! I'm dying to play through my current and cannon run, but can't help touching elven artifacts....
Both. I like the nod to duality; it reminds me a bit of the Lady of the Forest/Witherfang. Though if I had to pick one, white Dread Wolf seems less world-destroying.
And this is why I prefer white. My brain associates the white wolf with the fuzzy Solas part that only comes out when he's romanced. It's the part that says hope to me..

You know, traditionally, white symbolizes death
The pale horse. I find that rather fitting actually for the dread wolf. I agree, white.
Hey, if you want to find someone after the ending, might as well make them a bright, bright, BRIGHT target.
Unfortunatly he goes back to his old clothing no matter what gear you give him
Guess he figured out the plan...
I feel like he is her booty call. Seeing that he can only see her when she sees fit.
Yupp, exactly my thought, She should let him go. Allow him to be happy, but I guess she's too selfish for that. Poor Varric.
Please ignore this if you're already feeling sad or if you don't give a damn about my problems (which is perfectly fine).
Spoiler
Cute cheerful Solas art? Good not-sad songs? Solas' butt?
My heart goes out to you. I'm so sorry. I can relate, and even though I know there really are no words that can take away the pain, I need to tell you that you must know that It wasn't your fault. At least you got the chance to say god-bye. I'm sure she was gratetful for the time you had and for everything you've been to her.

Musing possible other art things while I am neglecting my actual job- do people prefer black or white dread wolf?
White wolf if he's romanced Lavellan, Black wolf if not.
I just feel it reflects his tarot cards that way.

Glorious! Now I can close out that youtube tab I have with the tavern songs in a playlist. Now I can listen to all the awesome songs, and not just the regular soundtrack. Deluxe edition, indeed.
I heard someone asked a question at the panel today about the Solas romance and Patrick Weekes got on the phone to answer. Does anyone know what this new information was?
Also, I'm going to be the odd person who voices a potentially unpopular opinion.
I DON'T want to be the center of my LI's world. In order for a relationship to be balanced and normal, the other party should have things that are important to them apart from you. It's healthy. It's cool. And it's the mark of someone with a strong sense of what is right and wrong (for them) because there are rivers they WILL NOT cross because to do so would break their moral compass.
Everyone has a point, morally, that they will not pass. For Solas, it would be putting behind him his sense of justice/ what is right for a 60 year romance when he's immortal. That's like the equivalent of a spring fling in the immortal sense of things. I don't doubt that Lavellan means a TON to him and that his feelings were/ are very, very real.
But imagine if there was something you had been working your whole life towards, something you feel you MUST do, something that DEFINES you morally, and your husband/ lover/ boyfriend/ significant other asked you to give it up. For me, that'd be like asking me to give up my career as an artist/ illustrator I've spent over half of my life in training towards. I'd tell him to go take a freaking hike and if they loved me, they wouldn't ever ask me to give that up.
The issue with Solas, so far, is that we don't know exactly what he's sacrificing FOR, we know it's the People, but we don't know how he's getting there or what he thinks "help" means. It's clear he feels that he MUST do what he's going to do, or it will betray himself, and destroy his moral compass. If he had been open with Lavellan, she could have either chosen to help him or told him she couldn't tolerate his actions and leave him.
So do I hate Solas for leaving? No. I respect it. Deeply. And I'd likely make the same decision if it were at the cost of giving up WHO I was as a person. What I dislike is that he left without communicating what was at stake. If he had told us what he was up against, what his goals were, things honestly could have been different.
The reason he didn't tell/ communicate with us? Likely because it would have broken the narrative the game studio already decided upon and destroyed the surprise of the end-game reveal. So don't freak out. There will very likely be an opportunity in the future for that to happen. If his romance locks in AFTER the break-up and we're prevented from bedding the rest of our companions even though we're "technically" single, there's a reason.
I don't know what the current topic is cause I'm so out of the loop, but this... I wanna smooch this post! After screaming "Get out of my head Liz-Cole!" ofc.
This made top of page?! Gah! Have a screenie I've posted earlier.
.
On the subject of Bianca - My biggest issue with her was the fact that I thought she was dead. I'm going to need to reread that Sacred Grove comic business again I think, because I have no idea what about the scene in the Fade with Varric/Bianca made me walk away thinking she wasn't around anymore.
Plus she wasn't how I imagined her after the comic which was a bit disappointing.
I read them recently (after DA:I). I didn't get the impression she was dead. Just that their 'ending' didn't happen that way. That they didn't run away together, she want home and got married instead.

If it's what I read earlier back in the thread it wasn't anything new besides you basically have to beat Weekes over the head to get him from not writing romance.
Drake, my sincere sympathies, I know the feeling.
For comfort and to cheer up: comic I found today, I hope it was not posted yet! Mostly Dorian and Vivienne, but also comforting Solas ![]()
Spoiler for size.

Regarding Solas/Cassandra, I like their relationship and think they could grow to be great friends. Despite their differences, their personalities complement each other well. They are a nice duo, surprisingly compatible and clearly developed a mutual respect. I do think it's missing that spark of attraction that would take it from just friends to something more though. Who knows, with a lot of time... maybe? Love them as bros though. Also love Varric and Cassandra as bros. What I found really funny were Iron Bull's attempts at flirts/compliments to Cassandra. I feel like they just slid right off her. Cass doesn't really see herself in a 'sexy' light, so in a lot of ways she tanks through all possible 'flirt damage', and Iron Bull has a one (ok two) track mind (sex and dragons) but no matter how thick he laid it on she either brushed or laughed off the remarks.
This is now reminding me of a particular party banter between Solas and Cass, when she brings up the Maker and Solas ends off the discussion with: "I am always open to new ideas". I had Iron Bull in the party when I heard it, and I imagined Iron Bull and Lavellan exchanging a knowing glance. Eheheheh. Having Bull in the party was always a bad influence--always imagined Bull adding "...in bed." to the end of Solas' sentence. MAYBE THAT'S JUST ME THOUGH ![]()

If you want to read it you find it a few pages back, as pointed out already. In short:
The essence of it was that the Solas romance was added late by Gaider himself in an attempt to avoid branding Solas a clear villain. He feared Solas might come off rather ruthless and cold and in order to humanise him, the romance was added to show more facets of his character. Gaider only said like two sentences himself, as far as I remember.
