I did a theatrical performance once on puns.
It was a play on words.
Oh boy...

I'm alright with that picture on that chat. Very alright with it.

My Lavellan carts Solas around everywhere. They are partners in crime. A dynamic duo. They've even come up with clever nicknames. They call themselves "Heart and Sol."
I'm sorry. I'll leave now.
That was beautiful.
One of these days I am going to think of something witty to tweet Patrick with too. And he will fall for me, and that will be HAPPILY EVER AFTER YES IT WILL
I reread my post and I think I sounded angrier than I meant to about Stoicism? I am absent mindedly waving my fist while trying to write a post titled "Xenophanes: Why he shakes his fist at the Gods in the Sky" and that seems to be carrying over haha.
Would love to be pleasantly suprised by Tevinter when we visit it. If it is as grand and complex as Ancient Rome supposedly was, then a game based there will be a treat!
To completely over-simplify, there is a famous image of Stoic ethics, of a dog tied to a wagon. If the wagon moves and the dog wishes to follow, the dog does well, for what is in his power (the adjustment of his own psychological reactions to accord with the uncontrollable forces of nature) and necessity are aligned. But if the dog does not wish to follow, then the dog will be dragged along anyway.
The Stoic, therefore, aligns his will to the necessities of nature and wills all and only what will occur anyway, independent of his will. This is why the Stoic feels neither pity or remorse - for both are examples of wishing that what happened of necessity should not happen, or should not have happened.
You feel uncomfortable about something happening around you? Nothing to do except change the way you feel towards it. It is a little (okay maybe a lot) more complex but overall it screams "pacifying doctrine for the masses" to me.
And now I must retire to the fade, adios
I'm reminded of the story of the man who delivers a message to a famous Stoic, that his son had died. The Stoic nods.
"Did you hear me?"
"Yes."
"Why do you not grieve? You don't even seem surprised."
"I knew I raised a mortal."
*awkward silence*
It's an interesting philosophy.
And I didn't think you sounded angry, you sounded like me when it comes to Germanic tribes converting to Arianism. ![]()
"Damn you! The Pope was gonna get you off my lawn, but you had to ruin it!" *shakes fist at heavens*

Glad I'm not the only one that thought of a similar scenario...
Oh boy...
What is the definition of a will?
(Come on. Its a dead giveaway. )
Not gonna touch that one dear.

I know right?! I almost want to see a DA animated adventure in this style. I'm gonna keep an eye and see if she does a Solas one~
Boudicca's rebellion in Britain was also noted for having the non-combatants link up wagons on the edge of the battlefield, to shame any Britons who fled. Unfortunately for them, as the Romans quickly routed the Britons, they were all trapped against their own wagons and slaughtered en masse.
Where was I? Oh, right.
What's up with the Chasind statues in Skyhold?
And the mention of mother just naturally makes me think of Flemythal.
Boudicaa was a bad ass, just saying. She rebelled against the Roman, when they wanted to turn her territory into a slave province, Oh and they raped her and her people. When she realized she had lost her war she then committed suicide.

I know someone who played it.
They took historical inaccuracies to an art form. ![]()
Boudicca attacking the city of Rome with an army of elephants while going up against Emperor Nero, yes?
![]()
And yeah, I respect Boudicca. I even see a bit of Andraste in her.
(Andraste was a Brythonic Goddess, after all.) It's just that they were a little bit overconfident in that last battle...
Should have stuck to guerrila tactics. ![]()

I respect the real Boudicca. Not the other one. The xbox one can die.

What exactly was wrong with her? ![]()
My friend who plays was too exasperated to tell me more about the game. ![]()

She just doesn't die. Ever. And you don't even kill her in the end. A cut scene does...
Edit: The worst part is she never really talks..all she does is this overdramatic barbaric scream everytime you confront her.
