I'd be ok with the same situation we had with Morrigan.  Her storyline's clearly not over in Witch Hunt, and she plays an important plot role in another game, but her relationship with the Warden gets resolved.

I don't know if I can wait that long. XD I'm impatient, I need to know before I really get my hopes up.

Like with Joker. 8[

The thing is, Morrigan's romance was finally resolved 5 years after DA:O was released. And I'm with HurricaneGinger, I don't know if I'm willing to wait that long for the Solavellan romance to be resolved; or for DA4 or DA5 to resolve the Inquisition's and Solas' story, if ever that's what they're planning.  :o

I'd rather them take time...not too much time...but I don't want rushed DLC...it would take away from everything if they just slapped it all together.

Oh, of course I don't want to rush them, they could take their time. :P

This is just me feeling rather impatient about the whole thing because I felt that whatever we did up to the end of the game was just the beginning of something much, much bigger and there's so many things in this game that I want to know. D:

But I'm willing to wait as long as they could tie things up nicely in whatever DLC they're planning. *keeps fingers crossed*

Guys, help. My perfectionism is starting to rear its ugly head again.

I rushed through my first DAI playthrough (Lavellan x Solas) because I didn't want spoilers but wanted to talk about the game with friends and the BSN. Now that I'm playing at my leisure, I've been replaying it from the moment Lavellan gets to Skyhold to fix little mistakes after (mostly in picking a specialization and spending more time with Cole), but that just got me thinking, "Why not play from the prologue since it STILL bothers me that when Solas mentioned, 'I've had run-ins with your people in the past,' my Lavellan didn't say 'We're of the same people' only because I couldn't figure out the controls for interactive party banter at the time, then didn't reload because I was in such a hurry."

(I imagine her saying it would smooth out some initial "Are you looking down on me?" tension in their relationship, since Lavellan saying 'We're of the same people' would reassure Solas that she's not one of the haughty Dalish he met before, and him letting her know that he says it because he has tried to reach out to her people before but got rebuked, would reassure her that he's not saying it to distance himself from elves the way Sera does.)

Then that got me thinking, "Well, if I'm going to replay from the first 30 minutes, I might as well remake my character. Fix my Dragon Age Keep "canon worldstate" (since I originally intended it to just be "default" single male Mage Hawke, but at the last possible second switched to a female warrior Hawke who's sister Bethany is still alive and who romanced Merrill, which just left me confused every time someone referred to Hawke as "she," then made me feel more guilty when Hawke got left behind to save Alistair) then fix Lavellan's vallaslin since it was supposed to be a bright lyrium blue (symbolizing her defiance of the Templar's hold on mages), but I was in such a hurry I didn't bother investing too much time when it seemed to only remain a dull grey.

So, the temptation to start from the beginning is strong. However, I've replayed the game so many times though that I'm getting pretty sick of it. I still have at least three more planned (Lavellan x Cullen, Cadash x Iron Bull, Adaar x Josephine), so it seems needless to go through another 80 hours playing the whole "canon" Lavellan x Solas game over again over such minor, petty mistakes.

Any suggestions? Should I just stick to my current end-of-game save, just continue replaying from when Lavellan first gets to Skyhold, or give into my perfectionism and start from CC (fixing the worldstate, vallaslin, and prologue dialogue with Solas about the Dalish)?

I'd say try out one of your new playthroughs. And be perfectionist about it. :) Then, when the inevitable DLC is announced, start prepping a new Lavelllan. We don't want you getting sick of Solas, now, do we?  :P

Well, I've almost finished my "canon" playthrough when I decided to replay it. Reasons? Some extremely minor dialogue I've missed (including that banter about the Dalish in the prologue), plus a few sidequests/war table missions I've either forgotten or wanted to get another outcome for. So I started again. Played for 10+ hours, then scrapped it and started over again. Reason? TOO MUCH BLUSH.

So, yeah, you are not the only perfectionist here, and I am not the best person to give advice on the matter

It looks like the Dalish heavy armour, and the flower crown is an item called "Ardent Blossom", which is unfortunately only accessible through cheats.

I guess that stretches the definition of flirting to non-meaning, for me. If all it means is friendly repartee, then a lot of people are flirting without knowing it. And would be pretty shocked to hear they are.

But, possibly I'm just reluctant to jump on "ship" bandwagons because it seems like half of fandom is about that and it's often so silly. I find their mutual understanding surprising and moving. Don't hear anything romantic, nor could I see that ever happening even "in another world."

I know this discussion is dead but I'm reading all of the posts I missed!

I agree with you Addai. I'm a generally nice person, even to people I don't like, just.. Because. Same for my boyfriend, a (generallyyyy) nice person.

My boyfriend has been 'accused' of flirting with girls he's been nice to. Several times. It really pissed him off (something on lines of "just because I'm being nice to her she thinks I'm trying to hit on her? I have a girlfriend!"). He can't even help women on the bus without getting a snarky comment and an evil eye (so he stopped).

I'm certain guys who I am nice to think I am flirting with them, but I never flirt, NEVER. I didn't even flirt with boyfriend, I don't even know how to flirt!

We have a group of friends we hang out with, it's consisted of females and males. Everybody's nice to each other! Most of us have a bf/gf. We even, god forbid, hug! We even poke each other (not me, I hate touching, but that's besides the point).

It's completely OK for males and females to respect each other, be nice to each other, and even touch each other all the while not flirting.

This is something that has an example in game. Cullen? The flirt options for him? It's being nice, it realllllly bothered me that in order to feel like I'm trying to befriend him and be nice to him I need to "flirt" with him :|. When it was in character I chose the flirt option because my PC respects Cullen and likes him as a person. Same with Dorian, I wanted to compliment his sense of style! I wanted to be nice to him because he is so so easy to get along with. Why do I need to flirt with him for that? At some point I stopped because I didn't want to get a silly "I'm not attracted to females talk" (I din't know if one exists but.. still). Why is it easier to be nice to Varric just because he is not a love interest?

Anyhow, my point. Grownups can compliment each other without it having hidden messages behind.

I think Solas and Cassandra have great dynamics and chemistry, but they are too different to enter a romance. They are both open minded people, and it's wonderful they can converse and be respectful of each other while not feeling the pressure to change their beliefs. Maybe if Cass wasn't so religious and forceful (Solas generally dislikes unnecessary violence) and Solas was less of an.. elitist god, then perhaps. But these things are what makes Cass Cass and Solas... Solas.

I'm attempting a Trevelyan mage- Cullen romance playthrough with Dorian and Vivienne as my main mage counterparts, but I miss Solavellan a lot. Cullen's romance is well done, it's just... you know.

Cole's still coming with me, though. Vivienne can suck it.

This happens so often that it's my HC that he does this out of sheer protective outrage. Those rogues that suddenly appear and backstab can be literal murder for a mage if you don't have a Barrier up. An instant later, Cole appears out of nowhere and backstabs the backstabber.   In this case I'm also frozen by a filthy Venatori.

6cd7ca06-a030-4276-9399-b5840f9526a8_zps

Also, I didn't know that Cole comments on your specialization. *fangirls* Rift mage, in this case.

Spoiler

He expresses mild disapproval if you take necromancy. Whereas he more or less agrees you are not actively harming other spirits, he does express disquiet that you are "using part of them."
