Okay.

So.

Mascara: Blackish eye-liner(?) that has the possibility of running. Which is bad. Except in some dramatic love-confessions in the middle of a thunderstorm in movies. I think.

Rouge: Apparently quite popular in MMOs. It...goes on cheeks?

Blush: Also goes on cheeks. Adds more color.

Eyeshadow colors the area around the eye itself, which can emphasize color? Like darkening it so that someone's blue eyes really pop?

Um, lip gloss is fairly self-explanatory, and something of a disaster on my Rogue Inquisitor.

I think I'm much more familiar with vallaslin and woad painting than I am with make-up. 

Educamate me.

My friends who are male who work at Sephora don't usually go full on drag for work or anything, they usually do little things to enhance, but are still noticeable. I mean if you're comfortable enough to wear makeup to begin with, why not show it off a little? 

 

I'd go...with hazel eyes, a deep plummy or hunter green, and I'd line probably the waterline and the tightline, and maybe just a little wing. I'd forgo foundation and stick with some bronzer under your...uh, his...cheeckbones. Skip the shadow unless you put a little dark into your crease for shape. Conceal lightly any  areas, dust with setting powder, and finish with a peachy lipgloss. Nothing frosted, that's so 20 years ago. 

 

Adam Lambert has great makeup when he wears it. Ugh so hot. Don't even judge me.

I remember my sophomore year of high school, I think it was, I astonished my friends by saying, "Sure," when they jokingly asked to try out their new glittery finger-polish on me during lunch.

I was/am a quiet, wheezy nerd.

At one point, the biggest, second scariest football/wrestling star guy came up, and, being a borderline parody of failed machismo, acted indignant at the very idea. "Is that-No. Is that- WHAT THE **** IS THAT ON YOUR FINGERS?!"

Nowadays I'd probably just shrug or snark that kind of thing off, but Sophomore Caddius was a little unstable in the head, so I grinned from ear to ear and bounced up in my seat and shouted, "Finger-nail Polish! It's emerald!", and that it was great and that if he'd just give me a sec' I could make him feel pretty too.

He looked like an unspoiled Solavellan hitting that one scene, and ran away. 

(It probably helped that the second biggest, far scarier football/wrestling star was at that very moment helping paint one of my nails and apologizing about his sloppy technique.   )

So I just see this whole conversation as the next step in that dialogue tree, but without any teenagers that look like Biff from Back to the Future.
