Thank you for posting those videos, jellobell! Poor Solas. Feeling a bit better that I didn't bring him along now, I would've been depressed for ages after playing through that.

There's nothing in it to say Solas defended Inky but that is now my headcanon.

Yeah, but I think it's heavily implied (also my headcanon).

 

Just imagine how pissed Solas got when an angry mob with torches and pitchforks showed up to attack the Inquisitor. People acting violently out of ignorance and fear pushes so many of his buttons. He would've been livid.

My Lavellan's greatest fear is failure. For obvious reasons. That glimpse of the future where Corypheus succeeded deeply affected her. She saw Solas and Cass and Leliana die to save her, after having been tortured for a year. All because she hadn't been there.

That's mine, too. Nail on head.

 

Not sure if this was posted already, but the devs were tweeting about a DLC consisting of Patrick Weekes and John Epler singing DAI. PW suggested this as the tune for "Solas Disapproves."

It...really hurt seeing him in that quest. Especially because he didn't even seem to care that he was being eaten alive by red lyrium. He was just so happy that the Inquisitor was there, and that there was a possibility of saving everyone.

And then realizing that he'd spent that entire year alone in that cell knowing that all of this was his fault.

If you want to see what he says, then I recorded two versions of the scene where you meet future!Solas.

It's in one of the houses in Haven. I think it's a journal entry by the apothecary about your condition. It doesn't outright say "Solas saved the prisoner", but it talked about "the apostate" being the only other person in there with him and the Inquisitor, and that the both of them creeped him out. And then he talks about the house being attacked and needing to remember to ask Seeker Pentaghast for some guards in case it happens again. So the implication is that Solas scared them off.

"My life is yours." Oh, God, my actual heart. I think it might burst...

I have a secret desire to write some sort of AU fic where Dorian and the Inquisitor couldn't get back to their timeline and had to figure out a way to save that one. [If they even could.] 

 

Really glad to see Weekes is twittering again! But, also annoyed to see someone made parody accounts of him and Gaidar. Is that the source of all the drama from last week? If it is, that's so lame of people. The most petty thing I can think of.

So I was in the Hinterlands at the start of my third playthrough and suddenly this new banter between Solas and Varric which I had never gotten before popped up.

 

It was Solas questioning Varric about Hard in Hightown and how it had a lot of deceit and trickery.

 

Foreshadowing much.

Heh. It did make the quest pack one hell of a punch, though. And it was perfect for my solasmance playthrough.

 

After all, he'd saved her life, then taught her about her newfound abilities. And after talking to him a lot in Haven, my Lavellan had really warmed up to Solas. She thought of him as a good friend. But it was after seeing him die for her that she realized she felt more for him than that, and those feelings were cemented by the events of In Your Heart Shall Burn. So the whole trip to Skyhold was Lavellan trying to muster up the courage to make the first move. In the end she needed to be in a dream to finally do it. I thought it was a lovely touch that their first kiss happened in "Haven", where they'd first really gotten to know each other.

I loved that line so much. In my fluffier headcanons I imagine my Lavellan parroting it back to him some time after the first kiss and him getting flustered.

Yup.   I always seem to get dead Solas when I do that quest.

Yeah, I can imagine seeing Solas die making quite an impression! It's weird that I didn't really pay much attention to him before. I think it was because he was a starting character, along with Cassandra and Varric, and I wanted to bring "newer" people along with me e.g. Sera. When he takes you aside to tell you that the orb is elven in origin, I thought "oh, he's quite cool, I should get to know him more". Sometime later, the Fade kiss happened. Besotted now.

That moment when those demons drag Solas' dead body and throw it to the ground The most depressing part of the whole game... next to getting dumped anyways. Actually, everything Solavellan is the most depressing part of the game. And the best. And the worst. AGH... the bittersweet experience that is Solas T_T).

 

I think my Lavellan's greatest fear is either Loss or Failure, she's afraid of losing the people she loves and it being her fault ;_; It's part of the reason why she didn't like responsibility: if she wasn't in charge, it wouldn't be her fault when things went wrong XD

Oh, that explains Why it's always Cassandra who dies in that scene in all my playthroughs... I had no idea it was based on how you select the party.. I select them in order to be fast so Cass is always the second and Solas the last..
But I guess I'm happy I didn't have to see him dead! :-P

I know this has nothing to do with absolutely anything...but has anyone romanced Sebastian and attempt to let Anders go in the end...is Sebastian's only response to go back to Starkhaven, even with a "romance"? ^{If you can call it that...}
