I... I just had the saddest dream. I've been pondering whether to post it here or not. But it's kind of driving me up a wall not having anyone to talk to, no one I know IRL's played DA:I. So, this.

 

Maybe it was GDL's DLC tweet tease, so I ended up dreaming about Solas and Lavellan meeting again and I swear this is going to be sad so I'm putting the rest under spoiler tags, please skip it if you don't want the sad.

So I don't remember the whole DLC. I'm not even sure I dreamt all of it, I just remember the last bits. Lavellan already knows Solas is Fen'Harel, and he's on the brink of accomplishing his plan. I didn't quite get what the plan is (even in dreams the answer eludes me), only that Lavellan knows and she thinks it's awful, and she yells at him to stop. He looks at her, and with the saddest most regretful expression on his face, he says, "I can't."

 

Then he vanishes. Runs. But he's tied to Lavellan through the Anchor and she gives chase, and finds herself on his heels running towards this huge tainted eluvian. She screams at Solas, begs him to stop, gives him one last chance, but his response is raised hands pouring magic into the eluvian. So Lavellan... does something. With the Anchor. I don't know what but there's this explosion of green brighter than the Breach, and when the light's dispersed, Solas is lying, gasping, dying on the ground.

 

The world's never felt so cold. She takes a stiff step forward. And then another, and another, and then she's running like she's never run before, until she's collapsing beside him and gathering him into her arms. "I'm here," she whispers. There are no apologies, no voiced regrets, only whispers of "I'm here" over and over again, her mouth peppering his face with kisses, her thumb stroking his ears, her breaths mixing with the last of his because if this can end in nothing but death, then all she can do is make sure he knows he isn't dying alone.

 

 

 

 

 

And then I thought, **** no this isn't happening, and woke up to a pillow soaked in tears.

That might not be very ethical of him, to say the least. If he says their relationship is over, I believe the only way he can kiss her after that would be asking for her forgiveness and asking if she would take him back and rekindle their relationship. And only if she agrees, then he has a right to speak to her about love. Otherwise we might be getting into the territory of mixed messages and perhaps emotional abuse(I might even say "torture"). Imagine: Lavellan loves Solas very much, and he breaks her heart by saying "no, it's over". She's devastated, she is trying to learn to live without him, just to get up every morning, and then he suddenly pops up with a kiss or a whispered word of love - and disappears again. And maybe does that more than once. I really shudder when I think of what these visits would to to her. It seems to me that Solas would not do that to her - although, of course, I respect that people would like to replay that in their head or fanfiction, but to me such behavior seems unhealthy, callous, hurtful to Lavellan, and perhaps more than a little cruel.

I have to agree.  I always find that it's a bit cruel when it pops up in FF -- to each their own but it's not my bag.  I geniunely don't think he would do that though, knowing that it would be sending so many mixed signals.  Also, I wouldn't even allow it - it's kind of all or nothing. You don't get to play around in my head for your benefit but not be here in a way that I need you.

Probably had to be in the baking sun all day to get skin that dark. Standing in the shade are for weak dicks anyway.. Dicks that can't handle a little sweat and chafing. Though it could be magic, or He had access to ancient Elvhen Bronzing oil.

Trying like mad to catch up to you guys. Over here is....ergh. Relationship problems. My bf turned the internet off on me and I just went with it because I wanted to prove that, no, I don't have an addiction or anything. So, I waited and missed a whole ton of greatness, it seems.

 

On the positive, I started on--not one--but two Elven Pantheon fanarts.

 

I've been scrolling through GDL twitter to find all Solas related questions. He answered ALOT of questions! I didn't post the ones that were already posted. If I repeated one, though, then sorry about that.

About 25 years before the Inquisition was re-established the Keeper's Second in clan Lavellan was expecting a child. Unfourtunatly, she grew very ill. The Keeper and the First couldn't save her with magic, and the hunters found no cure in nature. As the Second lay dying the healers of the clan agreed that all they could do for her was to ease her passing.

Her husband, a hunter, became frantic at the news and ran off into the woods. There he ran, crying out to the Gods to save his wife and child until his legs could no longer carry him. Looking up at the star-filled sky he whispered a plea to anyone who would help.

As a shooting star flashed across the night sky he knew his wife was gone.

When he returned the Keeper greeted him with sorrowful eyes, but still a smile on her lips. Though his wife had died, the Keeper had managed to save the child. He named her Seren, Star.

 

Seren grew up to be a cunning hunter, though she had none of her mothers magic she found herself with reflexes so quick, one might wonder if there wasn't a bit of magic involved. She was eager to prove herself, to show her worth, to help. However, she found herself thinking something was wrong many times. Occasionally she would find herself getting angry at her fellow elves, without knowing why. What tore at her heart the most was that even though she loved her clan she felt that she never belonged with them. She often had dreams, hazy dreams of lights and shadows and sounds she couldn't make sense of.

 

When the clan decided to send some of their scouts to the conclave Seren jumped at the chance. She felt that she needed to find where she belonged, and she wouldn't find it by sitting in the same place her whole life. To her surprise, her father protested. He had never disapproved of her adventurous ways before. Still, it was not his choice to make On the day she left he told her "I can't shake the feeling I will never see you again". He was right, but not for the reason he suspected.

 

Not too long after that, the conclave was destroyed with Seren as the only survivor. After a bumpy start she managed to get the Seeker who captured her to bring her to the breach. On the way they found a dwarf and an elf. "Are you with the Chantry?" she asked the dwarf. The elf gave a chuckle that make her breath hitch and said in a strangely familiar voice; "Was that a serious question?"

XDXDXDXDXD Well, he did spend, what, more than two thousand years, sleeping inside a ruin. I like the paler one too but the darker shade kinda gives him that wild untamed feel that somehow suits the arrogant hot-blooded Fen'harel he used to be. So, it's hard to choose.

I agree. Even though my Lavellan acted like a kicked puppy during the break-up scene, she would probably outright strangle him if he did that kind of stuff and tell him to make up his mind. On a similar note, I wish lavellan had the option to respond to that final "No matter what happens, what we had was real" with a scoff and a sarcastic "Yeah right". Since I totally see my quizzie, by that point, too disillusioned and jaded by the break up to be impressed.

 

Especially as by that point my Lavellan and Solas have disagreed on the wardens, she drank from the Well and she refused to let him remove her vallaslin so pretty much anything he says post break-up gets viewed through the bitterness lens.  

 

She didn't fall in line with the things he wanted so he ended their relationship, end of.

I would appreciate if your life was a tv show or youtube series.  A grown "man" acting like that would be immensely entertaining to me.  I think it would have a lot of viewers.  That is so sad its hilarious!

 

You could probably make a lot of money if this type of thing is commonplace.
