Use to stay over at my big brothers years ago when his girlfriend convinced him that he needed a cat. Jimbo was huge, ginger and loved to climb up the back of the curtains so he could jump out and scare the bejesus out of you in the morning. Anyway, whenever I'd be staying over in the spare room, no matter if I locked the doors and bolted down the windows, I'd still wake up in the morning wheezing through swollen lungs with that little f*cker sleeping right across my face.

My cat loves everyone, but particularly people who are allergic or don't like cats.  They definitely know.  They pick out the one person trying to avoid them and think, "You.  Human.  WE WILL SNUGGLE."

(My first play through I was getting really annoyed when he would detect an artifact from his people.)

 

I was cool with it at first. He made it pretty clear he thinks he's different from the Dalish. But then the balcony scene happened and I thought, hey, maybe he's finally acknowledged he and my Lavellan aren't so different after all.

 

And then "I Sense an Artifact of MY PEOPLE." happened.

That's pretty much my character in a nut-shell INCLUDING floppy, 90's jean hat complete with plastic Daisy on the front.   Solas loves her so much.

Also on the matter of the six eyes around the Black city in Solas' fresco, since he's painting the story as it's happening, it could be the six of them in the fade (they were six, right? 4 companions, Hawke and company) looking at the Black city.

Regarding the eyes, did anyone else notice the same/very similar eyes are in the very first mural, when the Conclave is attacked? Which was painted before everyone headed to the fade and the Inquisitor remembered/reencountered Nightmare. Which leaves me wondering how the hell Solas knew to include them, or if they represent something/someone else?

I have a love/hate relationship with cats. I love cats but can't stay with them for more than an afternoon before the allergy symptoms show up. The neighboring outdoor cats like pooping in my pots and eating my flowers.

Heehee, thanks! That's a good point, actually, though I do wonder at Solas putting a clue in there. He probably decided no one would figure it out and could dismiss it as 'artistic license' if need be haha.

I don't know why this romance storyline has me engaged more than the others - maybe because it's not resolved.  He's also just an interesting character. He has flaws - obviously - but he's still pretty sure of himself.  Which is attractive.  He also opens up this whole new world with the lore which is great - I think that's also why I'm pretty drawn to Abelas.  There's a lot to chew on there besides the romance.  I also agree with his politics and his way of thinking - for the most part - so it was calming/nice to see that reflected in the game.

I think part of Solas did want them to find out. Even if he didn't actually want them to find out. Solas doesn't like lying, which is why he largely lies by omission and dislikes being forced into an actual lie. 

 

Art probably felt like a way to be truthful, even if he was the only one who understood the symbolism he used.

Been thinking about the conversation people had about Solas and his people not being the Dalish...

 

Has anyone considered that he agrees with that because he's not truly an elf? He might be elven, an elven god, because they were the first around, and the only ones to interact with culturally, so it's them whose culture in ancient times he adopted, along with the other gods, or the gods were the ones that gave them their culture and they adopted his. But that doesn't necessarily mean he's an elf. "Elven", but not racially anything elf.

 

I know people hate this idea because it would suggest the Solas they know and love, appearance wise anyway, isn't the real Solas. But, the idea's there all the same.

 

How could one ever claim something like him anyway. It'd be like some yokels claiming they own the sun because they were the first to make some BS story about them. This is of course reliant on the idea that Solas is indeed something more than what he seems to be. "Bodies are such limiting things." -Flemythal.

 

Oh and... makeup, lol. I have nothing to add about that beyond I think women who don't wear makeup or barely wear it are much more attractive But to each their own, lol. Natural to me is sexy.
