I always wanted a dog-like cat. Is it possible to carry a cat on a baby harness while walking the dog if I can't find a dog-like cat?
Again, depends on the cat
I'm pretty sure mine would kill me if I tried to do that.
Also, is anyone here like me in that they get pushed away from obvious love interests? In dragon age, for guys I don't think there was really an obvious choice, though Leliana was a lot easier to be with and she seems personality and looks wise to be more "traditional" so to speak.
I romanced Izzy in DA2 and Miranda Lawson in the ME series, and I really loved both their romances. Superficially, they fit the more common stereotype of an attractive person in popular media, but I loved how once you peel away that facade, they're really cool people in their own rights. Especially Miranda; I was surprised by how much I wound up liking her.
I LOVED that. Especially since he seems to adopt that posture as a visual signifier of closing himself off or pulling himself back. Lavellan mirroring that posture at that moment--it reads to me as a really subtle and sensitive recognition of vulnerability.
UGH.

This is also why I'm afraid of small dogs too. Like I'll sit or step on them on accident. And dogs generally love to express how happy they are, you have to win a cat's affection. Mess with them and the cat will remember that. Someday I want to adopt a cat and give it the same training as dogs.
Not all the time
I don't know what it is about me, but cats really love me. I've had people warn me that their cats are really unfriendly, then all of a sudden they're rubbing my leg in a circle and purring, trying to get me to play with them and won't leave me alone, lol. My dog gets jealous when I pick up cats, ha. It's adorable.
Depends on the cat
Mine is very dog-like. He's super energetic and playful, really social, follows me around the house, even walks on a leash. Though I suppose it's overly generous to say I can take him for walks; he just wanders in random directions and I have to follow him.
I saw this mountain climber on tumblr once who had a cat like this. It was the most extreme thing I've ever seen a pet do, lol. I'll see if I can find it.
Who's that directed to?
Thanks! I uh... WAS going to do some designs somewhere on there, but uh... lazy ultimately took over.
I especially appreciate her highly impractical hair... I think I was overcompensating for the 50 bald hairstyles we get to choose from in-game.
But thanks for the compliment, I am not worthy... *bows low at your feet*
Bah, the hair is magical *wiggles eyebrows...get it? cause mage and ..stuff...
YOU SEE PEOPLE?! THIS IS WHY I DON'T HAVE SOCIAL SKILLS.
I know what you mean though, long hair would be highly impractical in battle and enemies would definitely use it against you.
But I love it soooo....
A braid might work, you could use it as a whip ![]()
CATS?! I love cats and will jump at an excuse to show off my very own Ser Pounce-a-lot.
*snip*
Aww I love cats...well dogs too I'm a bit of both cat and dog person. Your cat is Adorable.
My Husband and I just adopted another Persian cat that has one eye and half a tail and she is Sweet (and a moocher). My other Persian cat is sweet and loving a bit dramatic sometimes but sweet lol.
OH MY GOD....he's HOT and really looks a bit like Solas.
Also I found Solas physically attractive before the game but his personality made him hotter though. ![]()
Fascinating.
But... that harness. I just can't help but think of the cat slipping and choking because the harness's tied around the neck
Edit: Yeah I'm just bursting with sunshine today, aren't I?
Lol consider that a good thing
Swag has a lot of definitions. This generation butchered swagger and made it "swag", lol. I can't stand hearing that word... It's a weird thing with me, lol. Same with "cray" and "yolo".
Anyway, it's true though. Compare Solas to blackwall and dorian and you can see the difference that I think attracts people.
First, Blackwall is attractive (not to everyone of course) in the way of gruff stonefaced reserved badass, but the consequence of his reservation is that he seems stiff and unconfident sometimes when someone like him should carry himself with the utmost confidence.
Look at Dorian and Solas. Dorian is very comfortable in his own skin and knows he's pretty as hell, and an excellent mage. He carries himself with confidence and it shows in all of his movement and posture. And Solas has this even more. He knows much more than other people do, he's powerful, even in his weakened state. Even with his heavy burden, he's much more sure of himself than others are. He carries himself like a man with power, to the point that when I found out he was a god, I wasn't even surprised. He indeed has swagger. He's an awkward looking guy sometimes, but his facial expressions and his posture shows that he is sure of himself. That sort of thing is what I think makes his movements so entertaining to watch.
*sigh* Why am I out of likes? ![]()
Oh don't even get me started on that scene. Jawline is amazing, yes, but I'm always drawn to how...solid he looks. Like you could wrap your arms around his torso and hug him forever. Observe:
Spoiler
A man has no right to look that good in a sweater. Undying gratitude towards whoever made his character model.
This. His character model is so well done! And looks-wise, he may not be a pretty boy, but he's actually quite easy on the eyes once you get past the initial "weirdness". Nice jawline, broad shoulders, slim waist, etc.
Also, I'll never tire of looking at screenshots of this scene. ![]()

In DA 2, I think Isabella was the more expected choice, and here, Josephine personally seemed more the expected choice as well. Didn't like any of them for romances.
Anyone just bored with the typical LIs? Like Cullen, he personally seems a lot more safe than the other two choices. Which for me translates to boring... I know a lot of people are tired of weird romances where something like Morrigan's ritual happens lol, but that's also not very entertaining.
And beyond that, I think we've just been saturated from the media with their same old portrayals of beauty that when we see something new, it's a lot more exciting. Granted, it took an in game view to see it first, but still. Variety is always good. I'd personally be rather disappointed if all our love interests looked like Miranda lawson for instance. Solas, Cassandra, they're a breath of fresh air I think.
Yeah. Kaiden and Liara in ME1 felt kind of forced on me. All I wanted was that Upstart Turian.
...Excuse me I am going to completely fangirl BECAUSE I LOVE YOUR ART AND YOUR ANIMATIONS GIVE ME LIFE. *flails*
Okay, I'm done. XD Welcome to the thread! ![]()
I feel required now to stand up for my husband, who, besides any faults he has, is a wonderful man who works hard for our family. He is kind, considerate, loving, responsible and most importantly, makes me happy. I have just as many petty faults as he does and just because he thought he'd be a smart ass and take the controller to annoy me off, which worked, doesn't mean he's not "grown" or a "man" or "sad".
I suppose it's my own fault for saying it in this thread where he could be misconstrued. He's a wonderful guy or I never would have married him.
I'm going to puke rainbows. XD this **** is adorable
Seriously guys, THANK YOU.
I never in a million years expected this.
O////O *drops*
I bet people find Solas is as physically baffling as sherlock fans to benedict cumberbatch . He's just so weird looking, guys.
I've always been attracted to those with odd features, and I have no idea why. Solas, to me, is extremely handsome. His cheekbones and jawline...I want to nom and kiss.
I almost went all Buffy/Spike on that scene - as he was leaving - and was like "I don't know what I would have done had he left". Probably thrown my monitor out the window and wrote a nasty letter to BW for being a DISGUSTING TEASE. Even looking at the pictures <sighs> How Lavellan adopts his posture...swoons eternally.
I LOVED that. Especially since he seems to adopt that posture as a visual signifier of closing himself off or pulling himself back. Lavellan mirroring that posture at that moment--it reads to me as a really subtle and sensitive recognition of vulnerability.
UGH.
WHEN SHE DID THAT I NEARLY SCREAMED. They are just so...UGH...it's so disgustingly beautiful. Subtle things like that always make me sooo happy, and I love that BioWare pays attention to body language - especially in the Solas romance. He's already so closed off, and Lavellan mimicking him is showing him that she sees him through the walls and she cares.
Now I'm going to puke rainbows. XD

Like this, right?

Edit: I saw what you did there... and Solas Greatly Approves.
<snip>
Also I found Solas physically attractive before the game but his personality made him hotter though.
I realize I'm probably going to be beaten into a bloody pulp for saying this, but...
...I did not like Solas going into the game.
IN MY DEFENSE, I had been waiting to get all up on that Cullen-train, soo... that's why. *hides*
Oh gosh, these are amazing!! ![]()
Just look as those expressions...*dreamy sigh

You're not alone. I thought I was going to romance Sera. I had read little about the game or the love interests, as I wanted to be surprised. I had no interest in the pasty bald elf. He snuck up on A LOT of us in this thread!!!
Bah, the hair is magical *wiggles eyebrows...get it? cause mage and ..stuff...

Impracticality didn't stop Norsemen from having long hair and such ![]()
Also featuring the track: "I Sense an Artifact of MY PEOPLE." With the Bonus track from surprise guest star Lavellan: "We are of the SAME people. CREATORS HELP ME. ONE MORE TIME AND I SWEAR."
(My first play through I was getting really annoyed when he would detect an artifact from his people.)
Glad I'm not the only one thinking this. Everytime he says that I want to have the option to interupt with 'our people, sweetie.'
(Psst Caddius.... what do you think of the story of Lucretia's rape as a parallel for what prompted Tevinter to come over and sink Arlathan? Before the earliest version of Rome was said to be ruled by "seven kings" - Lucretia's rape by the son of a King prompted them to do away with monarchy altogether!)
The rape of Lucrece is such a knotty topic to disentangle. I am not sure about it's parallels to Tevinter.
The fact that the origin story for the Roman republic was created from the ashes of a woman's body is interesting. Brutus publicly displays and publishes her body in the forum--he creates a very specific (an politically motivated) narrative around her death. It becomes THE SYMBOL for the fallen monarchy and a call for a republic--a symbol predicated on ideas of feminine purity and duty.
Shakespeare's "The Rape of Lucrece" has an interesting scene of the display of her body to the Roman public.
In terms of how institutions (both sacred and profane) get created and the stories we tell --you might draw parallels with the way that narratives get drawn up around the Inquisitor and the origin of the Inquisition. See also Cassandra's legend.
Yeah. Kaiden and Liara in ME1 felt kind of forced on me. All I wanted was that Upstart Turian.
Yea, Ash was my go to girl. But I had to switch to Liara after playing ME 3... she seems like she changed a lot for me and it just wasn't the same. Looks wise and otherwise. I think she suffered from all the attention given to Liara.
I realize I'm probably going to be beaten into a bloody pulp for saying this, but...

Nothing wrong with that lol. Few people in here weren't interested in Solas until after the game came out. ![]()
Hey guys,
I'm finally working up the courage to join this forum, because how could I not?! So many awesome people, art, theories, and discussions!
*fangirls very quietly so's not to scare off RoyalRel*
I dunno, there's just something about the way he carries himself that's intensely attractive. It's weird. The guy's got sexy posture.
it's that way he walks toward that torch and lits up the veilfire when he tells you about the orb...
Dayuuumn!

Meh, it's all good
I wondered about the same thing. Even if my dog could do that, I don't think I'd let him. My world would be utterly shaken if he slipped and died because I wanted to take him rock climbing of all things.
