I've actually been a Cullen fan since Origin's fem-mage play-through, It just.. wasn't really what I was expecting, but I had just romanced Solas and I was kinda side-eyeing Cullen with the eye of "meh". He just didn't fit with my human well, they made most of your replies to him very mushy/touchy-feely, which wasn't how my Trev was.
Still like him as a character though, and I enjoy the Lyrium scene regardless if you are romancing him or not. PS I think what people mean by Safe, is there is never a moment you doubt Cullen's intentions for you.
I romanced him first so I was just...quite honestly spoiled for when it came to how many scenes his romance got and how his romance was in general, imo. I wished that we could had explored even more with Cullen which would had made his romance all the more deep and in depth, but sadly he was one of the last romances added...so it looks like they brushed quite a few things under a rug.
Oh, okay thanks for clearing up what others meant by "safe", because I was going to say um...ya know he can die from going off of that lyrium...so...his romance isn't "safe" in the way I was interpreting the word,

Yeah that was pretty disturbing. Then you add the fact that you lose your memory and as result of that you would most likely lose all your loved ones, identity, and past. That is a horrible future/price for Templars. And if you have him off lyrium then you have to worry about him potentially dying from going off of it, and PTSD nightmares resurfacing after years of being dulled/suppressed. I fully expect Bioware to capitalize on any of these options at some point in the future, they would be stupid not to.

It was lackluster but give it a shot. It's the same as SP but the only difference is you get like 2 potions (you must purchase more with coins you earn or real moneyzzz). The levels are way harder so you have to be aware of what the leader in the party is doing. If you're a mage you gotta time your barriers. You can restore health in these little fountains but those are limited too.
Compared to ME3 mutiplayer (which I logged in a ridiculuous amount of time because of how awesome it was), I was pretty dissapointed in this one. Very limited and maybe not as fun. I don't know~

His beard has limits, at least for me it does. I literally roll my eyes about 1/3 of every time he talks about his "past" or how noble every thing is. I'm sorry...but ugh...he makes Sebastian look like Isabela when you compare the two of them, imo.
Oh god no, Blackwall could literally talk to me about how he loves soaking his beard in milk and egg yolk and rosepetals so it's nice and fluffly like the white pony he used to have, and how he likes the grey warden colors because they bring his eyes out, and he'd still be more manly than sebastian on his worst day.
I liked Blackwall, till he ninjamanced me away from Solas. And for some reason hated my other quizzy.

...I found you know the lyrium scene in Cullen's romance to be pretty emotionally gripping, then the chantry scene with him, and his "gift" quest while fluffy did let us learn more of his character and what values he holds. Now, most of you probably know that I am a part of the Cullen thread so I like the guy and there may be some bias*not gonna delude myself that there isn't*. You want a fluffy, cute romance then Sera or Josie is the romance for that. While Cullen's romance certainly has light moments, there are quite a few intense moments.
"Blackwall"...well I simply despise the guy so I'm not going to comment on his romance, although he nearly made me romance him before I knew who he truly was. Let's just say I am extremely glad that I did not romance him.
Sorry, I didn't mean to discount the dramatic moments we do get with Cullen. I do agree and love his lyrium quest. It is a really dark look into Cullen's psyche, PTSD, survivor's guilt, punishing self-standards, etc.
However, that's a scene you can still experience and still get a lot of emotional impact from if you aren't romancing him. When I say his romance is cute, safe, and fluffy, what I mean is the romance-specific scenes and dialogue... And since out-of-romance encounters with him are also pretty amicable (all things considered), I think they are really cute (which I love), pretty fluffy (which I adore), and really... well, yeah, safe. You feel he's really sweet and genuine, is being upfront about his feelings and intentions, and is 100% to you and the relationship from day one. No cryptic warnings from him that it could badly like Blackwall or Solas, no initial vibe that he's in it for fun like Sera or Iron Bull (so I'm told about the latter), no getting your advances brushed off and the door slammed in your face when you try to flirt, only to have your LI come back and say, "Wait! I didn't mean it! I want you to court me, really, then we'll talk!" like Cassandra (bless her beautiful, beautiful heart and soul 
) etc.
I didn't mean to discount the intense moments, because they are there. And I still like all the things about Cullen's romance that I shared, I'm not saying "cute, fluffy and safe" in a bad way, because that actually is my ideal romance. >_> (Darn you, Solas!)

I just did the the scene where you first kiss Solas with a Male Lavellan and it felt super awkward, it felt like my character was hitting on him hard. I expected the "sweet talker".
