Ah, just looking at those finishers made me miss those finishers from DA:O. My Mahariel was a sword and shield warrior and I always loved seeing her do a finisher when she killed a dragon.

 

Ranger was my favourite profession in the original GW too, I love pet classes...so ofc I miss the ranger spec from DA, probably why mage has been my go to class since DA2...In origins I always went ranger

 

Pets are great! ^__^ Yes, I miss the ranger spec too. I loved having a little wolf or a bear following me around in DA:O. Wish we they could bring it back but oh well.

Sigh... me too. And thinking about the finishers made me remember I can't dual wield swords either.

So what are your archer builds? Just curious I may try one out tonight.

Full Draw, Leaping shot, and Long shot are the abilities I use the most. I use those in conjunction with Stealth for the damage bonuses. Evade is a useful ability to help get out of trouble, dodge, or flank enemies. Cool down time for Long Shot is pretty low so it can be used pretty regularly. Assassin Archer is pretty fantastic at taking out individual targets fast. Mark of Death + as many abilities as you can use = Instant death to most things. It makes bosses and High Dragons cheese. I rolled through Nightmare with my Assassin Archer. Mark of Death with Mark of the Rift is quite a combo on bosses.

I only wish they brought back the Ranger spec. In DAO my rogue was always a Ranger.

Does anyone know if Loghain has a similar type of dialogue RE Kieran? I've taken a DA:I break but will eventually come back for my next playthrough!

He does, but it's not much.

Also, is that a griffon on his chest? Why Morrigan, you old softie. This is Alistair's Kieran, BTW. I'm trying to get Alistair and Morrigan to have their chat but I don't know how to trigger it. Alistair's hanging around up on the battlements.

Agh, the DirectX CTD is getting so bad I can't get through a single cutscene or war table session without a crash.

 

Sorry if someone has told you this already, but you apparently trigger it by not talking to Varric on the battlements until after Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts is done.

Anyway, from the 30 pages I still haven't read (you can do it self!), I don't know if this was already brought up, but here's a damper on the theories that Solas was Shartan or that Mythal was human or even that humans were once elves:

 

 

For those who can't watch it, what's in this video is what I'm assuming is the max disapproval conversation between a human Inquisitor and Solas, and near the end Solas says,

 

"I should thank you, Inquisitor. I had spent time with few of your people before this. From the stories, I thought you all thuggish, simple, and crude. Now? Now I know I was right. You have no idea what a comfort that is."

 

So, it looks like Solas has hardly had any interaction with humans before, and what he knows about them comes mostly from stories, maybe even from during Arlathan days when humans were still an unknown element in the fringes of elven society.

 

If I was a human in Thedas, I would really worry about that last phrase... "You have no idea what a comfort that is..." it sounds as though Solas/Fen'Haral might have it in for humans, or at least some humans... And this is not a guy who wastes a word never mind a threat...

I hate to flog, but I did spend a year of weekends on it, so... I wrote a novel about Loghain as family man. Link in the sig.

I like my Brolas and I don't want to ****** him off, but I gotta try my hand at being a total ass to him and as many other companions as I can. Started a Qunari Assquisitor playthrough and it's easy to get Solas to hate you from the start. He sounds pretty disgusted every time I go over to talk to him.

Quick question: how do you guys build Solas? I always level him (and all the companions) automatically and let the AI take it, for that reason he is generally a electricity and spirit mage. Dorian is fire, Viv is ice. Do you guys do it different?

 

I built his whole rift magic tree and the rest was between the spirit (for the resurrection) and fire and ice (for the damage hoe skills)

 

In other, non-Solas related news-- I am incredibly depressed right now. I just found out that my favorite boss is quitting and his last day is going to be Monday. I cried. He has not only been an amazing manager, he has also been a really good friend. I will miss him so much,

Ugh that's a terrible thought.

I wonder how much work it would be for a DLC to have separate paths Solas can take depending on friendship or rivalry paths, like in his scheme he will spare as many humans as possible or maybe he goes full on villian.

And the Gaider has to write him. Ugh.

Not a clue. As far as I know, they haven't hired anyone to take his place yet. It came rather quickly. He's not my direct boss, but he used to be. Now he manages a different department, but I still went to him for stuff because the guy who took his place over our department pretty much ignores us. It just hurts because... he was grumpy one day and I could tell... after all the counsel he has given me, I figured it must be my turn. So I told him "Anthony needs to do what is best for Anthony." He must be the first person ever to take my advice, and in a way I wish he hadn't. But I know it will be better for him. It's just not better for me. That's selfish, though. I knew this day would come, I just thought it would take longer.

My favorite professor retired, too. Back in2012. I graduated two years before and then moved to Germany with my husband, who was in the Air Force at the time. When we moved back to the US in 2013, I came to campus with my son, hoping to intorduce him to the professor who had mentored me through my psychology program only to find out he had retired. That was a sad day, too. I remember walking to his office and feeling thd biggest let down that some other man was in it. It seemed so wrong.

On topic, I've cried before as well when a favorite boss left. I also cried when I left Sephora, even though I knew I had to for my own sanity and for money reasons. I hated leaving my boss who I loved and my coworkers.

Maybe, or it might make it even worse.

That's the only times she drinks btw. She detests alcohol as much as Solas detests tea. _{(based in the same incident as her intimacy issue)}

It brings out the monster in people.
