Question for the thread: In your Thedas who do you consider to be more heartbroken by the way things turned out, Solas or Lavellan?
That is a really good question. I'd say Solas, just because I don't think he's had a lot of 'good' things in his life. My Lavellan has been through some ****, but she's got friends to fall back on and plenty of things that make her happy. She's upset about it, certainly. But for Solas, it is just another mistake on what is starting to feel like an avalanche.
Now that I think about it, the gods here remind me a lot of the Goa'uld from Stargate SG-1, lol. Especially Flemeth's little issue.
A small off-topic question (since I'm in the middle of doing it now); did anyone ever allow the War table missions to run their duration?
I'll admit I always cheese it by changing the date/time on my PS4, partially because I hate leaving an area unfinished but mostly because I can't stand the real-time duration on missions. This isn't a mobile game, Bioware! Cut that crap out! But seriously I love you, Bioware. *smooch smooch*
Only the ones that are like.. 10-15 minutes.
The others with 3+ hours.. no

Solas. He lived longer therefore has met much lose. Lose of his people, death in great wars, his home. Those he care for that are left are still endangered by mortal summonings. Present Thedas remembers Solas as a villian.
Lavellan has the potential of losing her clan but it's possible to save them with the right decisions. And she's still worshiped by the people. Compared to him, she's doing very well for herself. Sometimes knowing too long can cause misery. In a way, Solas can teach her lessons but shield her from others. Sometimes ignorance can be blissful.
edit: oh, you probably mean the romance. Solas. I thought it was interesting to learn from Cole's interpretation that the Spirit of Wisdom wanted Solas to be happy but knew he will never be happy.

Solas without a doubt. He knows what he wants to do and in his mind it was better if he did it alone.
Lavellan, she is surely sad, but it's more of a "I don't understand what's happening" sadness. Plus Leliana told her "he might come back at a later time" so she was left with this feeling of not knowing exactly what to think.. In her mind she still has hope somewhat. Not sure if he does

Solas. He knows what's going to happen and he knows he broke your heart. He knows Lavellan wont understand and he can't even explain, he can't tell her the truth. This alone must be killing him. There is also the fact that he's going to do something terrible that will probably end up badly for him. A path he must walk in solitude forever. We all know what his worst fear is, so... right.

Now, if I go another route (I used Origin to download games)...
I can get here..

Hmm... I have windows 7, maybe that's the problem? I don't know if you can just create an override folder and pretend Bioware put it there. I would say yes, but I'm not sure. I know all my mods are under the "my documents" path. I don't know, I'm sorry

That drove me crazy with Morrigan. But then, my canon character deserved it after what he did to Leliana, lol. Noble Cousland finally got a taste of his own medicine. Friendzoned. Harsh.

Solas. By quite a lot, actually. There's a lot of failure and pain and struggle that's behind his decision, more than my Lavellan would be able to really comprehend, as young as she is compared to him and how much more adjusted a life she's had by comparison (before Inquisition at least). Plus, like Mims said, she has friends and a whole lot of duty to fall back on and keep her grounded. If she's upset, it's more for Solas than because of Solas because his last words to her were really troubling in that she worries about what path he's setting himself on and if he even plans to get through it alive. A lot of his comments make me wonder whether he even plans to survive whatever he's up to.
Solas has nobody after he breaks up with her and leaves (and kills FleMythal). Nothing but whatever he feels his duty is. He might just be on the path to making his greatest fear come true.
Why do some people hope for the inquisitor to be immortal?
Having the option of immortally could be great to a Lavellan IF she rekindles with an elven god, but what of the other inquisitors? Everyone around them will die, Their own love interest as well. They may keep their adoration of the people or potentially live long enough to see your symbol twisted into villainy. Out of the 31(ish) romance combinations, 30 inquisitors will find sorrow, the 31th will have that and a gamble of rekindling.

I'd prefer to think of him as Tok'ra, if we're going there

Yeah. The relationship doesn't "lock" in until AFTER he dumps you. So where you have the choice to say "as you are to me" or "im sorry you were right, this was impulsive". His heartbreak is TANGIBLE.
I think most people find it meh because they don't want their Solasypoo to be something besides what he appears if I'm being honest
Honestly, the body hopping thing with everything we know makes too much sense not to be true. For me.
That's just my opinion though. Nothing yet is proven.
I'm actually conflicted in regards to this. I'm split right in the middle. There's evidence to both sides but I feel like if we take into account that Solas did grow up in a small village and was being honest with us, then it's safe to assume a few things:
I feel like the story would be more interesting if Solas is actually Fen'Harel and he retained his body after his long sleep but what would be the implications of Solas sharing a body with Fen'Harel? If Fen'Harel leaves Solas' body (we kick him out), how much of Solas personality is Fen'Harel's and how much is Solas'? I would want to think if Solas is sharing a body with an Elvhen God that he would still retain his personality but notice how much Anders changed because of Justice. It's difficult to tell.

I'm of a mind that this won't happen. Unless it happens to all the Inquisitors. I really don't think there will be such huge unique circumstances for just one type of Inquisitor. I think in general terms, what happens to one Inquisitor will happen to all of them.
Edit: Also, since it's been discussed, I really don't see all that much evidence for Solas being a body-hopper? Maybe I'm just missing something but nothing gave me the strong impression that he had to do that. Mythal is different; she's just a little wisp of who she was.

Well that works too, though the tok'ra were such pansies. Lets see, old gods goa'uld, elven gods tok'ra?
Their version of bonding does match the tok'ra better, and the old gods have that forceful body switch thing with their darkspawn. Plus the taint.
