Lol

Sera: you can make magic anywhere, Solas. Ever ****** it by accident?
Solas: NO! Wait. (Long pause) No.
Sera: would't you remember?
Solas: we were all young once.

<3 <3 <3

! Damn you Bioware and your asterisks of doom! I've not heard that convo. D: Not surprising since I never take Sera.

It's another word for urinate. I'm sure you can guess which one. This is my first time taking Sera anywhere. Alas, it is my first inquisitor that actually kind of gets along with her.

After reading the Cole/Blackwall Banter, I retract my earlier complaints about him still being called Blackwall.

It...yeah, it makes sense to me now.

  • (The Shrine of Dumat) This is a sad place, filled with old pain. People spoke here, and something listened, until it didn't.
  • (The Western Approach) The darkspawn are below us. A long way, but still singing.
  • (The Western Approach) The song never sang for them. They were lucky.

Also for the Cass discussion :P

  • [Cassandra] "Petals fall open as lips shape words that rhyme. Candlelight softens the edges."

Cole's dialogue is fascinating. And the further confirmation that, at one point, the Old Gods did speak to their priests, but then they stopped, and the Invasion of the Golden City was more like a bunch of kids tracking down their father's apartment in the big city to ask why he doesn't visit anymore only to catch a nasty disease from snooping.

That last part made for a pretty good analogy until the disease bit  What did they do, find out daddy was shacked up with some hooker and made the mistake of drinking from the same cups as her? LOL.

Also, may as well share the awesome Cass pics/gifs I did in yet another whiner's thread:

Ah, phew! Although I should have known considering it's Sera. x)

I have nothing against her really (aside from her being awkward to get along with), but I'm a bowgirl myself, and with Cass tanking, and my refusing to remove Solas and Cole from my team, there's no room for her. x)

The Golden Apartment is Golden because the CDC has covered it in bright yellow biohazard signs.  I was going for an outbreak of some kind of plague, but I could see Dumat hanging out with ladies of negotiable affection.

  • Dorian: Do you need to eat, Cole? Or sleep?
  • Cole: I thought I had to. But I don't. The Old Songs can pull me.
  • Dorian: That's something. I don't know what, but it's something.
  • Dorian: What about when you're injured? Why do you bleed? Is it because you think you have to?
  • Cole: Is that why you bleed?
  • Dorian: I-- well-- uh, yes. You have me there.

HOLD THE PHONE!

Can we get some theory-crafters who have a better grasp on the Fade-shadow and blood theories and Will than I do?

Add in that the darkspawn can sustain themselves forever on the Taint itself...

EDIT:

  • Cole: She tried. The cookies were good until the hate made it bitter in your mouth.
  • Sera: Not there creepy. Go rooting in that part of me and I'll stripe you up, you hear?
  • Cole: Everyone heard. You're scary in another place.

For the Sera=Vessel of Andruil crowd, the 'Everyone heard', makes me think of Andruil spilling the secrets of the Void and everyone hearing and getting the Lovecraftian treatment. Definitely a stretch, but that's the first connection I made.

Another reason I decided to play a warrior this round. I tank and keep Solas and then I can mix it up a little with the rest.

I have no idea in regards to theory-crafting, but I would like to say that I particularly like headcannoning that if you make Cole more human, he eventually does need to eat and sleep and do all the rest, and that's why he hurts so much when he does become more human.

Did anyone make Cole more of a spirit? I hear he loses his emotions somewhat (at least speaks monotone) and I don't think I could stand that. :( Just hearing him be so excited when Corypheus tries to bind him and can't makes me too happy. x)

Lol same. I honestly don't see the appeal of making him more like a spirit, but that's just me and my human bias. Spirits try so hard to be like us, and it drives them mad. Even if it isn't the reason Cole came, it's a good outcome for him all the same I think. He tries so hard to understand the people he seeks to help, well now he can, and arguably he can better help them this way now. Just my opinion though. I know others favor Solas' advice in this instance, but this is one of those times I gotta say no to him and hand the reins to Uncle Varric.

Sometimes fate leads you places whether you intended to go there or not.

I considered doing that, so I could add Varric. I love the interactions between him and Cole! But I can't take a warrior elf seriously, I feel like they should snap under all that armor. x)

Why are there busty Qunari babes carved into the rock in the Hissing Wastes?

Spoiler

And ugh, where is this tomb?! I've been through the whole area before and cleared out the mountain fortress, but I can't find the tomb entrance.

He's still excited even if you make him a spirit! There are pros and cons to each choice. I can't honestly say what is the better.

If you make him a spirit, Cole is generally happier and more at peace. But he also 'forgets' the original Cole.

Honestly, me too. Her sword is bigger than she is, but still, I'm having fun. That's the important part, right?

If Sera is Andruil's vessel, and someone plays the next game with a world state in which she isn't recruited... what happens? We get to fight her at full health instead of half?

What's with the love interests of this game being part of the pantheon? Who else is hiding among the Inner Circle? Reveal yourself!

Well, ****.

That's.

I don't even know anymore.

The surface settlement was old, wasn't it? It had a Paragon, so they must have been post-Tevinter alliance. Maybe Kal-Sharok dwarves, since it's relatively closer to Kal-Sharok than it is Orzammar? (I think.)

Maybe the horned beings were the Creators who were spirit-dragons that took a liking to elves, and their forms incorporated a bit of both? (Okay, now I know I've been inhaling too much lyrium vapor with Dagna.  )

Hissing Wastes, here I come.

Also:

  • Cole: I like traveling with Dwarves.
  • Varric: Glad to hear it, Kid.
  • Cole: You're quiet, but the old song still echoes inside, almost like Templars.

So lyrium and dwarves and Templars and Song are all intertwined.

I feel the amulet is more temporary though. :( Take it off him and he can be bound.

Buggerit, I still have a save left over from before the choice, I'll take a quick peek at what it's like.

EDIT; Just spoke to Cole and he said "It's good to spend time with you." Squeeeeeeee!  Cole's my baby!

Oh, that could be. They're binding demons in the tombs, so they're blood magic dwarves? That's even weirder.

Yeah, I do think about the amulet being able to be removed, but there are no guarantees he'll stay safe on the "human" side, either. He's still a spirit, after all, and Varric's not going to be around forever to coach him.

  • Cole: Do you write to reach across? To hear the song that was sundered?
  • Varric: I'm... not sure what that even means, Kid, but probably?

Varric is wonderful. And it seems like Cole and other spirits are well aware of what went down with the Song.

Solas also has some dialogue that suggests the Creators being spirits that became more mortal like with time. Where Cole almost gets it, but then apologizes for hearing him wrong. Hmm.

EDIT:

  • Cole: Do you feel spirits when you cast a spell?
  • Cole: Bits of them push through with your magic, tiny, a wisp of a wisp, free before falling back. They pool around you, water in a cup, defined, deafened, hearing only your song.
  • Cole: They want to skate, scintillate on skin. You made them them. Their maker.
  • Vivienne: Now. I need. A bath.

Both The Calling and especially Last Flight when describing mages at work mention spirits whispering around the spells, demons tempting them in small ways, but Dorian and Vivienne seem surprised by the idea. Also the Three Cups Theory. I feel like Sister Squish and Madrar are poor starved pit-fighting dogs, and it's the Solas Thread's job to throw them hapless bystanders. :P :D

It's not in documents...well this is what I have for that..

I'm on Windows 8

Documents\BioWare\DragonAge\Settings\

Then it has addln and offers in two files under settings.

Now, if I go another route (I used Origin to download games)...

I can get here..

C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age\packages\core

But no override folder.

help.

It's fine to just create an override folder!  It wont hurt anything!

EDIT:

I am reasonably sure of that, anyway.  It never has for me.

I went and talked to Solas after that scene and he's acting like the whole romance didn't happen. YOU STUPID EGG, WHY WON'T YOU LOVE MEEEE?

If you picked the 'are you kidding?' option then you don't get the option to talk about the relationship afterwards.  Your romance will still work as intended, though.
