Eh.. Yeah the dates might get screwed up. But I still don't think he had a hand in the Elves freeing themselves/rebellion or whatever It was. Doesn't he say that the city the elves remade was only a echo of Arlathan? And he refers to them as children or something? I just remember a comment where he wasn't too into them attempting to re-make their empire, but that could've just been because he thinks he is the only person who can save the elves, or return them to how they were.
Now that I think about it, Solas says alot of incriminating off-handed comments, like sheesh.
IS THAT A TIMELINE QUESTION I DETECT?
QUICK, TO THE HISTORY NERDMOBILE!
Arlathan is founded as the base date.
4500 years later, the Neromenians lead the charge as humans migrate into Thedas.
4750. The Quickening. The elves withdraw from human contact. This might be made up.
4800: Old Gods whisper to Neromenian Dreamers.
5185: The Alamarri leave the rest of the tribes behind and move to Ferelden, fleeing a 'shadow goddess' that Solas mentions as being a lonely spirit.
5785: The Avvar break-off. Believed to be the point at which The Saga of Tyrdda Bright-Axe takes place.
6005: Thalsian uses blood magic, fueling Neromenian power.
6405: Tevinter Imperium founded.
6619: War between Arlathan and the Tevinter Imperium.
6625: Arlathan is sunk into the earth by the Imperium, according to legend, and the elves are enslaved.
7440: (1000 years before Inquisition) The Cult of the Maker spreads in the South. Archon Hessarian converts and reveals Maferath's treachery. Andraste's rise and fall occurred within the past twenty years. It is around this time (7465) that Andraste's Ashes disappear.
Elessara, the Fall of the Dales took place 7709-7719, in the Glory Age as you say.
