Reminds me of a quote from Vivienne when she and Iron Bull are talking about the Qun and mages being leashed.  I believe she says something like, "Leashes can be pulled from either end, darling."

 

But if he tried that on an Inquisitor who drank from the well, I'd like the option to punch him in the stomach.   =p

 

Although that does call into question.  What happens with an Inquisitor who drinks from the well?  Does the "control" transfer to Solas who took Mythal's power?  Or to Morrigan who, presumably, received Mythal's divine essence?  And I say that because apparently if you wander around Val Royeux you can come across someone who mentions dreaming about a woman who claims to be Mythal.  I tend not to wander around Val Royeux after the end of the game because I've done everything so not much point and so I have not actually encountered this myself.

I don't see that happening because of the potentially screwed up implications of controlling a romanced lavellan. The outcry would be bad. I personally find the idea sort of gross myself. Story wise I think if solas went that bad it would be sort of ignoring the subtlety written into his character and it'd be corypheus all over again.

 

I do think there would be a lot of outrage. That point would be the end of the line for me I think, because, again, that's no longer the Solas I fell in love with. Though that would be a great tragedy if done right.

Bahahaha ... talk about a dysfunctional family!  Solas gets you during the week and Morrigan on weekends?  Poor Inquisitor!

 

Actually we don't know what really happens to a romanced Anders.  On the rival path he seems to go kind of bat**** but on the friend path he's not too bad.  My usual play was a friendly, romanced Anders where he lives and I support the mages.  He's not out of the woods by a long shot but at the end Varric seems to think he'll follow Hawke to Weisshaupt.

Mine was too, usually, but I mean that he still eviscerates that chantry and everyone in it.

 

Regardless of what Solas does, I'm not sure I could ever see him going full on dark side. Like what was said, he's probably more like Flemeth.

Hello Solas thread! I have been posting theories on the lore thread and was advised to come here for some major theory crafting, and I think I may have, possibly, stumbled onto something! Or, at least the foundations for another theory, if you all are interested in hearing it.

Guys, I've got a question, dunno if it was discussed before. Do you think that the spirit of Wisdom knows about Solas/Fen'harel? Judging from the dialogue with Cole, it seems like the spirit knew that Solas was "special" but not exactly what he was.. Or am I wrong?

I've been asking myself this question also. I'm still in the dark, so I am hoping someone with more knowledge than I can share some light and insight? :>

I would think that Solas might have a more direct means to control the Inquisitor if he so chose- the mark is his power, after all. Corypheus tried to manipulate it because he had the orb, and failed, but Solas might be able to do it. At least, I think that would make good story potential because it would mean he could have used the Inquisitor but declined to do so.

Yes, we think the same thing, but I think with how the power's continuing to grow and grow, and how Cole comments we're "brighter", it might cease to be his power later. Maybe at one point he could have, but later on it might be too late for that.

OR... ooh, this is good. What if you can beat Solas' control and stop his plan, thus saving him, but only if you hardened him, since you've been building up a resistance.
