I'm working on a video/project to explore the differences in audience between male and female gaming youtubers.

To tell you the truth, I'm a bit nervous for the DLC. Mainly because I'm not sure what's gonna happen to Solas and I'm afraid to find out.

I took a quick look and the first off the bat that caught my eye is Andraste as an old god baby.

 

I agree and have said the same thing before, though I'm not entirely sure about Dumat=Mythal. I do know that for Morrigan to have learned this ritual though, someone would need to have performed it before, and the elves contributed knowledge to the grey warden ritual from what they had left from Ancient Arlathan... So Flemeth is the obvious one responsible for teaching Morrigan this ritual, which has interesting implications.

 

Also, Andraste's tale matches up well with Kieran. They both had "troubling dreams", but of course, Andraste was the one claiming it was the "Maker".

 

And the whispers and being spoken to, all that aligns with what Kieran said (am I spelling that boy's name right?) It aligns with what Corypheus said, it aligns with the whispers we hear after drinking the well, and it aligns with the whispers we hear in Origins when darkspawn suddenly pop up, not to mention grey wardens that said they heard this sort of thing too.

I like this idea but if you dump him it's basically "Dude, I don't think this works out" - "Ah, yeah, alright. See ya". There's little hardening and you don't give him reasons, soo... seems unlikely. Or wasted potential. With something like that in mind they should have made some meaningful breakup, maybe in anger over his views on mages/Dalish/Templars/Wardens or such.

Cole's dialogue is fascinating. And the further confirmation that, at one point, the Old Gods did speak to their priests, but then they stopped, and the Invasion of the Golden City was more like a bunch of kids tracking down their father's apartment in the big city to ask why he doesn't visit anymore only to catch a nasty disease from snooping.

Can we get some theory-crafters who have a better grasp on the Fade-shadow and blood theories and Will than I do?

Add in that the darkspawn can sustain themselves forever on the Taint itself...

For the Sera=Vessel of Andruil crowd, the 'Everyone heard', makes me think of Andruil spilling the secrets of the Void and everyone hearing and getting the Lovecraftian treatment. Definitely a stretch, but that's the first connection I made.

The surface settlement was old, wasn't it? It had a Paragon, so they must have been post-Tevinter alliance. Maybe Kal-Sharok dwarves, since it's relatively closer to Kal-Sharok than it is Orzammar? (I think.)

Maybe the horned beings were the Creators who were spirit-dragons that took a liking to elves, and their forms incorporated a bit of both? (Okay, now I know I've been inhaling too much lyrium vapor with Dagna.    )

Andraste is born in Alamarri lands, is enslaved, escapes at a young age, and returns to Ferelden to marry Maferath, an Avvar chieftain.

Looks like Mythal reclaiming her old chosen people as a weapon aimed at the usurpers of Elvenhan.

Side-note, I'm reminded of the Void in Wheel of Time. Namely, a technique for maintaining serenity in dangerous situations like deadly combat or being a character in Wheel of Time. Specifically, the character picturing a fire in a Void, and feeding all of the fears and worries into the fire, until there's nothing left but the Void and icy calm.

Main-note, what the devil is the Void? It's obviously important. It's apparently the source of the Blight. It may have been home to the Forgotten Ones. I'd like to send a firmly worded letter to the writers.  

 

In several Codex entries, the Magisters claimed they learned some of the intricacies of blood magic rituals from captured elves of Arlathan. This was building upon the foundation provided by either Dumat or the Forbidden Ones, depending on source.

I like the idea of blood magic being somehow tied to the Taint and Betrayal. It's used by Merrill to cleanse the Eluvian of the Taint in a ritual given to her by a demon.

Hmm. They could have simply been driven mad by that whole mountainful of lyrium, yes. And the high dragon just made use of it. Why leave when people are worshiping you and taking care of your dragonling spawn after all?
