We need a "The Other Guys" DLC, Harding and a party of other NPCs team up on an epic quest to get the field requisition officer to quit milling around camp and actually do their job instead of mooching off of the Inquisitor.

Harding and the Chargers: Harder Than Hightown.

New bestseller.  Get on that, Varric.

sorry guys that was bad

Felassan and his ambiguous age. :P

I just love this line.

Rather than a physical change, it could just be the lighting of the intensity of the green light. If you shine a light at a certain angle, you could hide the creases on your skin. Sometimes you could even hide your blemishes.

On the side, funny that you brought that quote because the first thing I thought of was: green foundation makeup. Redness correction. :P

Yeah, this crossed my mind, especially on my first read.  But in general context of everything, I'm a little more suspicious now.

I am currently reading through the theory wiki, and I just have to say, you guys are a charm. There are so many elements delved into here that would never have even crossed my mind, especially the Tydda Bright Axe interpretation. Dirthamen is really looking as a likely candidate for the betrayal. I have still yet to go through everything, so it may take me a while to some up with complete hypothesis, but, for now, I have some speculation based on the locations of the mosiacs in the Temple of Mythal:

But that wouldn't have been canon. With Solas, the happy comes first, then the sad.  (I'm not crying, that's that other guy.)

So do we have any theories about the significance of the wolf jawbone talisman aside from the obvious "look at me, I'm Fen'Harel" thing? Because I was thinking about it and I came up with an idea that may be tinfoil hat theory worthy: what if the talisman was a ward that kept him from transforming? I mean I don't know the validity of something like that, and perhaps it has been suggested before, but I know that it is something that has certainly been used in other mythologies. It's food for thought, anyway. And all of you have been trying to remove it. For shame. ;)

I just think of it as Lavellan desperately remembering the happy times as Solas dies in her arms after having sacrificed everything to achieve his goal and failing anyway.

Sometimes I wonder if it's an amulet similar to Cole's...  But Solas isn't a spirit, or not entirely.  And if becoming human-like is enough for Cole to not need a protective amulet, then Solas shouldn't need one either, even if he is partially spirit.

...But your theory is just making me think of Solas always wearing that amulet...and nothing else.

I have no problems with my game whatsoever.

But I play on xbox one.

Sometimes it pays to be a lowly console player.

Pff, na, the pictures and convenience of being on PC was worth it

Theory time!

The Solas romance follows the Heisenberg uncertainty principle: because everyone can see there's something there, but nobody knows where it's going or how fast it's moving.

Because if this thread is gonna die for the night, it's gonna die in style.  With a chemistry joke.

I'll go laugh alone in my designated nerd corner

I thought it was a deer jaw bone or a halla from when he got captured by andruil for killing the halla in the wrong season.

There are eluvians in the Fade. I don't know if they were made manifest  because of their existence in the waking world...or if they were placed there for the elves of Arlathan to traverse as they pleased. Huh.

And as said before, there is red lyrium in the Fade. I wonder if lyrium is corrupted by the magisters who invaded the Black City. In the Western Approach, red lyrium grows where a Grey Warden excavation site is; it was abandoned, and the note said "we nearly got him." I wonder if it's another magister down there.

My personal theory is Solas had a wolf companion once in a capacity similar to the Emerald Knights' Guardians. Maybe it was even a spirit that decided to manifest primarily as a wolf. In any case, it was an important companion  whose existence or perhaps loss (because Solas does only carry a jawbone now) factored greatly into why Fen'Harel did what he did.

Pure supposition, of course. And I just love the image of young Fen'Harel with his companion wolf frolicking in the forest

Edit: And if it was a spirit, maybe it turned into a demon, and that's why we have the many-eyed black wolf imagery?

The note also says "We'll have to find another Archdemon". :)

Which begs the question, what the hell were they doing? It doesn't sound like a Warden murder-pack to me, more like Wardens Screwing With Forces Beyond Their Ken.

That's the area where they were directly above the Archdemon and could hear its song loud and clear, right?  It sounded to me as though the Wardens may have been working on their plan to kill the Archdemons pre-Blight in this area. Then they lost too many to cave-ins and moved elsewhere, if I remember correctly.
