Dorian Pavus is seriously the best. I'm (slowly) working through the playthrough where I'm romancing him, and every time he does something sweet and heartfelt and adorable, I just wanna lean over the railing of the library and yell at Solas.

I want to start a Dorian romance but I'm torn. I really want to romance him as a human mage, but I keep seeing fan art of Dorian/Lavellan but I'm not sure if I want another Lavellan or I might spend the entire game with unrequited lust for Solas.
Any advice, Solassians?

I love Dorian only because his last line - "Tevinter lacks the presence of my best and only friend...it'll keep". After Cole and then Cassandra, I was practically sobbing at the end of that party. I was like "I DONT NEED YOU SOLAS! YOU'RE THE WORST"

I just have limitations of doing SOME THINGS XD now I don't want to be mean but If I personally hate some stuff I cannot do them I am not judging anyone or saying mean things or being offensive. If You like these it is just fine and understandable and I respect your opinions but I hope I will not get more selena/miley or any those sort of requests.

You just really get the sense that Dorian doesn't have a lot of friends, and the relationship with a friendInquisitor, whether romantic or not, is very important to him. It was one of the better friendship paths bioware has done. I really felt attached to Dorian. I like to think he and my Lavellan have sort of a brother/sister relationship.
This is actually the first game where I would say that my player character's closest relationship isn't with his/her romantic partner. Morrigan and my Warden got along fabulously. Garrus and Shepard were pretty much inseparable from the start. Solas and Lavellan are certainly in love, and they do care for each other, but there's also a wall there.
Which isn't necessarily a bad thing either. It was part of what made the romance feel very different from the rest.

I went for Adaar, and I'm loving it. There are some weird moments in the romance where all of a sudden Dorian stands on a box (or a pile of books in my headcanon) so their heads can be level when they kiss. But something about the exiled Altus and the mercenary Vashoth mage is just all the adorables. Adaar towers over everyone but Iron Bull, and seeing them side-by-side in combat is just too cute, even if I have to spend half my time rescuing Dorian's squishy ass

I find the song to be meh, but it was popping up in my head when I started working on my Solavellan fic. I listen really only to Evanescence, Breaking Benjamin, Amaranthe, Within Temptation, Skillet, and Thirty Seconds to Mars. I know if I ever requested someone to make a video with a song it would have to be with either:

My Lavellan's relationship with Dorian was a rollercoaster actually. At first she was terrified of him. He's from Tevinter after all, land of blood magic and mostly elven slaves, so she didn't trust him at all. But then Redcliffe future happened, and she saw just how disturbed he was by that as well, so she started changing her mind. There were still plenty of bumps, since Dorian's a slave apologist, and he more than once comes off as a pompous brat. But his charm slowly won her over, and his confrontation with his father was just so damn raw and touching, she couldn't not be best friends with him. There were lots of nights after that spent swinging on the rotunda's wooden scaffolding, talking to Dorian and Solas alternately over the cawing of crows from above.
Adaar is tempting, but I find it hard to create a decent looking one. I haven't tried making an m!Adaar yet, though.
I found M!Adaar surprisingly easy to make. One of the presets has sharper features that make him look less rough than most other qunari. It was the eyebrows and forehead that I found tricky; the rest wasn't too bad.

I'd say that Solas was still my Lavellan's closest and most important relationship, but while Solas really only had her and Cole, she bonded with a bunch of the other characters too. Especially Dorian, Cole, and Leliana. I was pleasantly surprised at how important the friendships became to her growth as a person. At this point, it's Solas I feel worse for when he breaks it off and leaves, because she's still got all these wonderful people surrounding her, and he's all alone.

Same. Don't get me wrong, Solas is my #1 boo, but I am heavily invested in my friendships with Dorian, Cassandra and surprisingly Sera...I don't know how that one happened. I think with Garrus and Shepard - they were so obviously best friends first which morphed into a relationship. BW did a good job with that one.

Each of my fAdaars took 10 or 12 rerolls, but they both turned out lovely in the end.

My Lavellan had a lot in common with Dorian personality wise. Both of them are a bit snarky and prone to acting a bit over the top. He grew up being groomed to eventually take on his family's heritage, and so did she. They have very different opinions as far as wealth and social customs go, but at the heart of it they are very similar to one another. I think Dorian is an only child? Not entirely sure on that part, but my Lavellan also was.
That said- I don't know if they would have got on so well had it not been for Redcliffe. Just dropping both of them together, they'd probably try to out ego one another. But Redcliffe was really a game changer for my girl. And Dorian is the only person who had that shared experience. Dorian probably knew that Lavellan was in love with Solas before Solas knew just from how she reacted in the alternate-world.
So, from then on they were buddies. She might not like everything that he does, but they'll always have that connection. Kind of a, 'you were with me at the end of the world, and I won't forget that'.

I honestly didn't like Cole much until I did the templar side. Feels closer when you share experiences with those two.
