Lol, I love those bands SO much! Evanescence is sadly "taking a break", but rumor has it that they may return. Amaranthe released their latest album last year...I think. You don't have to do videos for them, only if they really inspired you

On hugging -yes. I wanted to hug cassandra, cullen, Dorian, Cole, Sera, Solas - though I think if you hugged Solas he would just breakdown and cry or something. Dude just wants for affection so hard. I wanted to HUG EVERYBODY. You get to hug Varric but only if you kill his friend.
Oh god. Yeah, I really got that feeling during some scenes. Especially since touch seems to trigger him to break through that stoic calm of his. Before the Fade Kiss, for example. Or during the balcony scene. And in the final scene, when Lavellan reaches out, he backs away from her touch so quickly.
The scene that makes me want to hug him the most, though, is this one.
I took the dialogue option once just to see what would happen (before reloading as fast as I could). And...oh goddamnit, why won't the stupid game let me hug him? 
And yet, all that aside, I just couldn't take it seriously. ;_; I'd headcannoned that after the ball is when Ilaria and Solas doink for the first time, but I'm even laughing thinking about it now.
I headcanon the same thing. He's just so...uninhibited at the ball. It's wonderful. I did Halamshiral right after Cole's personal quest (where I made him more human) and Adamant. And right before that was Solas's personal quest and the balcony scene. So all I'd seen for a while was Sad Solas, or Solas being super cagey and weird. I thought he'd be grumpy at me for bringing him to be ball, too, but nope. The big nerd was having the time of his life. And drinking all the wine while I was running around doing all the work (the bastard). I just about died when I asked him if he had any interest in dancing and he was all, "A great deal~" And yes, that line totally had the vocal version of a tilde at the end.

I don't even think it's the fact that he's tipsy that makes him so wonderful at the ball. I mean, that's a part of it. But the tipsiness just makes him less stiff. The real reason why I love Solas at the ball is that he's happy. For once in the entire game he's going, "f*ck it, I'm going to have a good time". And it really shows.
Perhaps it's because it's a familiar environment, he tells you himself about the sex and the intrigue... I imagine this side of the fade an Orlesian ball is the the thing that most resembles old god shenanigans...

That is 100% best Solas. I headcanon that Halamshiral was like a party where you are the ONLY SOBER ONE THERE. My Lavellan was having fun at first and was taken aback and then loving how happy Solas seemed. She was looking forward to the rest of the night with him
But then the evening turned out to be such a massive ****-show that she was just like 'god this sucks, i just want to be home'.

She was a huge bundle of nerves leading up to Halamshiral. But as soon as she got there, she realized that most of the people present were just the same idiots with fancier clothes, and she had so much fun running circles around them. I headcanon that Solas was very, very turned on watching her play the Game.

O_O You poor thing! Although that must speak volumes of how talented you are! If you want me to write a story then that I can do, make videos on the other hand...well I will more than likely break my computer. I need some kind of outlet for my creativity, and luckily I can write somewhat decently...if my Solavellan fic is anything to judge.

Seriously, it makes me want to turn them over to Corypheus. I sided with Gaspard on this last game and it was such a relief. He ought to burn the place down.
As a player, I totally agree. It's a terrible place, and the Game is a despicable waste of time and resources, made worse by the indifference to the suffering it causes. But somewhat ironically, its horrible-ness made my Lavellan feel free to play the Game however she liked. So what if she ruins the lives of a few nobles here or there? They haven't suffered the brunt of the war, they clearly don't care about the people they're supposed to be protecting, and at least she plays for a greater cause. Besides, I think she appreciates the poetic justice of it all: if you play the Game, you die by the Game. Nothing personal.

That sums up my Lavellan's experience at the ball. Savage dirty little Dalish elf walking in there and owning the place and finding she had the time of her life doing so. Some people say they really hate the whole Halamshiral storyline, and I just don't get it. I adored it.

Mine did! A chance for her to dress up and be gawked at? Bring on the champaign and fine cheeses!
But she actually didn't play the game as well as she probably could have. My Lavellan is clever, but a lot of it has to do with bravado. Not exactly subtle! I imagine her making a nuisance of herself, but eventually managing to salvage the night.
My favorite part of Halamshrial is where the Inquisitor just decides to climb up a garden wall in the middle of a crowded patio. I can just imagine her going: 'Hold my champaign I got this' to Dorian or Solas and climbing straight up like some sort of crazy person.
