Oh yeah, I understand the reasons behind the uniform (needs mobility, being comfortable, etc). I just think it does not fit on some characters maybe with a different color.. dunno
Mmh.. the way I do them is:
Haven:
Hinterlands full except dragon, and 2-3 lvl 12 rifts
Val Royeaux
The Fallow Mire Storm Coast part 1 (up to red lyrium door basically)
Mages / Templars
Skyhold:
Crestwood except dragon Exalted Plains except dragon Emerald Graves full except dragon
Western Approach except dragon
Adamant Keep
Winter Palace Hissing Wastes except dragon
Emprise du Lion except Dragons
All dragons starting from weakest to strongest - this includes Storm Coast part 2
Refining quests left that couldn't done before (such as the one that requires felandaris, etc)
Forbidden Oasis with full shards
Temple of Mythal
I'm doing another runthrough and decided I'd take a bunch of screenies this time. They all contain Solas. :X I have a million already, but I'll post a few at a time. :3

Oh, by the way, this is kind of off-topic, but I wanted to know what order you guys do each level in. Something that sort of annoys me about DA:I is that it basically throws all the levels at you, and it's a bit overwhelming to work out which area to do first. I made a list of which order I do them in based on pacing the storyline while still doing the side levels:
Spoiler
Haven (Start)
Hinterlands
The Fallow Mire
Storm Coast
Val Royeaux
Forbidden Oasis (Progressive)
Mages / Templars Haven (Destruction) Skyhold (Start)
Exalted Plains
Crestwood
Western Approach
Adamant Keep
Emerald Graves
Emprise du Lion
Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts
Hissing Wastes
Temple of Mythas Skyhold (Destruction)
I do each stage as fully as I can while I'm there, sometimes leaving the Hinterlands after the farm for Fallow Mire to level and then go back and finish it off. Forbidden Oasis I start before the Templars/Mages choice just to get the ball rolling. I do Exalted Plains first after reaching Skyhold to do Solas' personal quest early on to get balcony kiss and to make it feel like my Ilaria gets to be "with" him longer. Also, hey, I made this relevant to the board!
Things like personal quests and special areas like the Temple of Dumat/etc. I do as and when they crop up.
So, there's my list. How about yours?
Mine depends on which race I'm playing and who they're romancing. Sometimes I'll skip entire maps.
But here's an example list.
Haven
Hinterlands
Val Royeaux
Hinterlands
Storm Coast
The Fallow Mire (Optional) Mages / Templars In Your Heart Shall Burn Skyhold
Crestwood
Exalted Plains (Optional) Western Approach
Emerald Graves(Optional)
Emprise du Lion Abyss/Halamshiral (Complete together after 50-60 power achieved)
Hissing Wastes (Optional) Arbour Wilds Final Battle
Has this been added to the Solvellan playlist yet? Heard it on the radio and it's eerily appropriate for Solas's thoughts as he left. Especially the line about being a dreamer.
"I am a dreamer, and when I wake, you can't break my spirit, it's my dreams you take."

This probably sounds dopey, but thank you very much for this list!
My heartfelt gratitude stems from the fact that my Lavellan alt-itis is bringing me close to just walking away from the game for a while because I get to Skyhold, do the specialisation Qs, then talk to folks and start right in on the campaign and end up either outlevelling content, or getting totally lost and demotivated to continue.
(hijola, that was a looong sentence!)
This list will help me re-think how I've been playing and hopefully get my interest re-piqued. Thanks again!
Maybe off topic a bit but relevant. Anyone have any idea how elves might celebrate their birthday? I'm looking for a little fanfic inspiration since I've decided my Lavellan apparently has a birthday right in the middle of everything else that is going on.

I usually do them as they open...
Hinterlands, Storm Coast, Exalted Plains
I don't go to the Wastes, Emerald, or Emprise till much later (after Adamant).
Emprise is usually last before I do Arbor Wilds.
I don't do the Fallow mire until later some reason.
I like to over level before I attempt the things because I like it easy hah

Hmm. The only thing we know about the Dalish that's remotely like a birthday is that they receive their vallaslin when they come of age. That's not exactly a birthday party, nor is it the sort of thing you can do more than once
I can't imagine the Dalish making a big fuss over a birthday; they're a practical people. On the other hand, each member of the clan is family. I picture them maybe sitting around the fire, telling stories (sometimes embarrassing ones) about whomever's celebrating their birthday. Some music, maybe some dancing. I don't see them giving gifts either since everyone shares within a clan, but maybe for a significant birthday, they all pitch in for a new bow or armor or something.
I think I do what most of you do too and try to complete a lot of each area before I move on.
I will say I'm pretty weird, once I get past Adamant and Wicked I refuse to go to the Arbor Wilds till I'm done with whatever I'm gonna finish for the whole game. Once I get the Wilds done just usually finish the game.
So, hi. I just finished my Lavellan romancing Solas playthrough and...

Mine tends to vary, but it goes a bit like this:
Haven
Hinterlands (to get enough power to go to...)
Val Royeaux
Storm Coast (complete all currently avaliable quests)
Fallow Mire (complete)
Hinterlands (Complete minus Dragon)
Forbidden Oasis
Skyhold
Crestwood (Complete minus Dragon)
Western Approach (Complete minus Dragon)
Exalted Plains (Complete minus Dragon)
Here Lies The Abyss
Hinterlands Dragon
Crestwood Dragon
Exalted Plains Dragon
Western Approach Dragon
Hissing Wastes (Complete minus Dragon)
Emerald Graves
Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts
Emerald Graves (Complete)
Emprise Du Lion (Complete minus Dragons)
What Pride Had Wrought
Finish off all the Dragons
Forbidden Oasis (Complete)
Then off to do the end game.
I think that's everything. I don't really like Emprise Du Lion which is probably why it's the last area I go to. Plus I prefer to meet Ser Michel after I've settled the dispute over the throne of Orlais. I don't know why that is.
In my current run I aim to have completed everything before What Pride Had Wrought. So once Solas dumps my Lavellan it's just a case of 'SCREW IT. ON TO THE END.'
"Look to the sky." / aka Solas does not do cringeworthy singalongs.
"Our" people.
Hahhaa, can you imagine him singing? XD That would be so funny xD
And yes. I think it's the only times when he says "ours" instead of mine..
The orb is "ours". "Our" people.
Then you take him out in the world and there he goes back again with "My people lived here" "I sense an artifact of my people".
What has changed since then? xD Tut tut tut Solas...
I was watching the videos again today, and when he removes the vallaslin he looks at her so happy, like he's thinking that she looks more like he does without the marks
Btw.. When Abelas says that the Dalish, with those marks on their faces, are not "his people"... doesn't Abelas have vallaslin as well? Or is it just there to make him look cool?

Welcome to the club. There's pillows and sweets and a blanket fort, I believe. We will all get through this together.
Scrolling through Tumblr to try to find nice pictures and now it feels like every other post is hating on Solas? That's certainly a change. I guess as time goes on, people are going to start seeing the worst in him.
That's why I've had to leave tumblr. I can only take so much hate...and it's not just Solas. Blackwall, Sera (I don't even like Sera all that much!), all of them. There are people out there saying seriously nasty things and after a while it starts to hurt. I like this place much better. *snuggles into a corner of the blanket fort*
LOL, did anyone else's Lavellan have a blast at Halamshiral? Mine never drinks a drop, so she was busy getting high off all the intrigue and danger
She was a huge bundle of nerves leading up to Halamshiral. But as soon as she got there, she realized that most of the people present were just the same idiots with fancier clothes, and she had so much fun running circles around them. I headcanon that Solas was very, very turned on watching her play the Game.
My Lavellan was...very angry. She doesn't hate humans, but she hates what the ball at Halamshiral represents - a bunch of humans behaving REALLY badly while there's a hole in the sky trying to consume them all. I might possibly have been channeling my own emotions >.>

Abelas was given his vallaslin by his actual goddess that he actually served in person, making a sacrifice of his life to serve.
The Dalish stick vallaslin on their face and don't remember the meaning and wander the forest and struggle to survive.
They do make him look cool, though. Basically, Abelas sees them as posers making a mockery of the Sentinels' sacrifice and tying themselves to the masses of slaves at the same time.

Yeah, that's kind of how I'm feeling, too. I figured my Lavellan probably wouldn't make a big deal out of the fact that it was her birthday, but somehow word would get out, anyway. Probably having something to do with Leliana and/or Varric, and they might throw her a party because... Celebrations in times of turmoil just make everything seem easier, I guess, but I wasn't sure how she would react to it. Now that I read this and have had a chance to think about it, I think it might be a little offputting to her. She would not want the attention since, to her, it's kind of just another day, so she would escape, only to, of course, be found by Solas who would be more understanding and choose to celebrate her birthday with her, but in a much more subtle, more elven way. Could be cute. I'm always down for some good Solavellan fluff.
So I just started another Lavellan playthrough (second Lavellan)! My first Lavellan was a mage but if I'm being honest I think enjoy archery for my canon Lavellan the best. I think it makes more sense for her to be a mage but this is the first game I found archery fun. Maybe is the fact that you can move while you shoot suckers in the face, I don't know.
My headcanon is kind of fuzzy but she's a hunter. Did anybody else do rogues or warrior for Lavellan? I know most people here play as mages but my favorite classes are always warrior and rogues. It's just that in terms of the story, it made sense for Lavellan to be a mage? I just don't think I enjoyed it as much.
What are some of your headcannons for non-mage Lavellans? I even think mine can barely read. Wouldn't that be something taught only to the First? I don't know if there's any codexes about it, it kind of feels right. I'm just worried that they won't have a lot in common since she's not mage, y'know? What would be her reason in being interested in the Fade? I know she would be interested in knowing about her culture~

Have some Solas!! I don't know if these have been posted but I woke up to some awe striking smiling Solas and have to share!
I don't like the dualist explanation for Solas' being, but aside from that, it doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Mythal was murdered- Fen'Harel never was, as far as we know. Why would he even have to body hop?
gaaah, I keep falling further behind! Sorry to dredge this back up, but wanted to clarify:
If you're asking why he would have had to change bodies, that depends on which time you're talking about.
The movement of his OGS from Dirthamen to Dread Wolf was forced. This body was his part of his punishment, as well as his prison, while he was imprisoned in the Void.
The movement of his OGS from Dread Wolf to Fen'Harel was granted as a "probationary form" when he was released from the Void for his service to Mythal in helping subdue red lyrium Andruil.
The movement his OGS from Fen'Harel to the Archdemon Dragon was for the purpose of attack. From what evidence we have, it seems these dragon forms were used as temporary vessels for battle by the Pantheon to augment their power. (Both physically and in terms of vastly increased Will.)
The movement of his OGS from the Archdemon Dumat to Solas was its release from the dragon vessel and redirection by Falon'Din (via the fade) to a new physical body: the egg we know today as Solas.
Alright, so the following is not related to a previous discussion, it's just a thought.
I know, many people think Solas is just a pseudonym for Fen'Harel in his original form. I still think Solas might be the elf (body) that took in Fen'Harel's soul. So, please just take this as a basis and follow me from there.
I wonder what happens to the original soul of a person if that person is "infiltrated" by a god's soul. When Morrigan learns of Flemeth's means of extending her lifespan she sees it like giving up everything she is, like her soul was killed and Flemeth would take over her body. However, when we hear Flemeth speak it seems more like both souls would merge. Flemeth always points out how she is "also an old woman", what pain she had to endure, "Someday, someone will summarise the terrible events of your life so quickly" and so on. It's not like she dismissed Flemeth's personal past, so Flemeth (the woman) still seems to be there, a real part of her, not just Mythal in Flemeth's body.
In such a case I assume that the body's original soul will also influence the god's soul, maybe add other motives and morals to the god's point of view. Might that not explain some of Solas' actions and his hesitation? Maybe that the part of Solas' original soul allows to fall in love and wish to help the people etc., while the part of Fen'Harel's soul is all focused on achieving his goals, making his plan work by all means necessary? Like Solas smoothing Fen'Harel and Fen'Harel strengthening Solas? Maybe these two confronting parts of the new "merged soul" are in a conflict with each other, at least sometimes, resulting in his a bit inconsistent behaviour?
I think this is fairly accurate. Carrying an OGS seems to be fundamentally different from being possessed by a malevolent spirit: they blend with the existing soul of the being they reside in. "No more separate than your heart from your chest." If we look at the idea in terms of Song (the individual's Song as their sense of Self) it's an added harmony, not dissonance. It doesn't drown out the Self of the original person, like red lyrium or Blight does, and it's not a separate Song, the way Anders and Justice are.
If Mythal really liked cheese pizza and Flemeth really liked pepperoni, Flemythal would have liked both. ...and probably wouldn't have described trying to decide which one she wanted for dinner as two voices "fighting in her head" or anything so dramatic. Ordinary people are often of two minds about something, but wouldn't describe themselves that way, right?
The two entities merge into one, and that one then infuses the OGS with the new combined Song, which is maintained when it's passed along. ^w^ And since those harmonic bits are never washed away by passing through the veil, Mythal is pretty much a small symphony orchestra at this point.
Solas, on the other hand, has only blended his essence once: his current incarnation. All the other bodies above were empty vessels, theoretical collaborations between Ghil and June crafted for the express purpose of holding OGSes for various reasons: interaction with worshipers and priests, going into battle, being rendered a non-threat and imprisoned, etc.
