Yeah, labels are bad, but fun to toy around with. There is some truth to MBTI, especially if you get family members to do it for you.
Apparently I'm an INFJ, but the F is very nearly a T... I don't really know what it means, though. To me the whole thing sounds too close to Zodiac stuff where you find bits of yourself in every description, sooo... I don't know that I put much stock in it. I admittedly have not done much research into it.
Plus, labels. I'm not a fan of labels.

I'm not too familiar with the personality types, but INTP is more related to intuition and feeling, yes? Then I would go for INTP for Solas, considering the Fade is influenced by the emotions and opinions of mortals.

From my understanding, INTP people are generally more open-minded and they handle things as they come, whereas INTJ people are more focused on being in control of things before they happen. Since Solas decided to learn about the Fade outside of the circle, I think he focusses more on the moment than on preparation.
INTP here (got that result first, then got INTJ - I would say I'm in between but since the whole second-guessing/over-analyzing involved in trying to figure out which is right is a very INTP characteristic, so there you go 
)... The 'P' is for perceiving, the 'J' for judging... it's a finer line than you'd think, so it's hard to figure which Solas would be without knowing more about him...
And yes, I hear you guys on reading the comments in the romance speculation threads, and the reasoning behind Solas not being interested in a relationship based on his personality is more than a little insulting. If he isn't a romance, I believe it's because of some plot point we don't know about, not because he's introverted and has spent a lot of time alone.
Also... Cole's VA? LOVE IT. I totally imagined him having a sweet, 'teenage boy voice,' if that makes sense, and he's perfect. He's never leaving my party ever

This (among others xD) is one of the main reasons I REALLY hope he is a LI. Like people have already said, we've never had a male LI like him before, and I too am getting pretty tired of the comments citing his introverted nature as reason for him not being into romantic stuff (another introvert here 
). I'd say Fenris was pretty introverted and was certainly brainy even though he hadn't been able to receive an education, but I'd just love Bioware to break the tradition and have a really bookish, quiet, intellectual LI available...in other words, to basically say 'yep, you CAN be an introvert and still love, have sex, enjoy people's company'. The 'professor' type companion who's also totally untouchable is a really annoying stereotype that I'm hoping they don't adhere to with Solas.

It's best to look at the functions of both types in order of preference.
INTP: Introverted thinking, extroverted intuition, Introverted sensing, extroverted feeling.
INTJ: Introverted intuition, extroverted thinking, introverted feeling, extroverted sensing.
Introverted thinking vs Extroverted thinking: Introverted thinking is like an internal web of thoughts while extroverted thinking is externally based on the world around them. Ti organises thoughts, Te organises the world around them. Ti: abstract Te: Literal.
Introverted sensing vs extroverted sensing: Introverted sensing is based in past experiences bringing them forward to help with the current situation. Extroverted sensing is based in the moment using all 5 senses. Si is like a vault of experiences. Se is like a fast flowing river of experiences.
It's kind of long-winded so, yeah. I hope I put it well. Of course we have to note that every type uses all 8 functions, this is based on the four you use first and instinctively. I can see Solas being an INTJ but I think that he's an INTP.
