Is brother Genitivi still...alive? I remember being able to kill him in Origins but never doing it. He might've gotten blown up at the conclave, but I hope he's still around.
Not in my game. Knife straight to the back of the head.

Aw, that's positively adorable! I love it when fanart captures Solas just right; they've got his eyes, lips, and nose spot on. Bonus points for Halamshiral.

They did a ton of sherlock radio, which is amazing if you can catch them, but usually you have to search online for the vintage ones and then they were so popular they did several films. So great.

Besides straight out of the book, the best Sherlock is Basil Rathbone. Preferably with Nigel Bruce.
Literally obsessed.
Agreed! I actually have this huge DVD set of all the Basil Rathbone-as-Holmes movies. It surprises me they haven't been worn thin, much as they've been watched.

I legit just clapped In excitment. I felt sure nobody would have even heard of him, much less watched the films. They are my favorite.Agreed! I actually have this huge DVD set of all the Basil Rathbone-as-Holmes movies. It surprises me they haven't been worn thin, much as they've been watched.
I think I only own a total of ten movies made after 1960 though. I'm weird that way.

Oh, not at all. I'm much the same. Classic movies are my favorites, and I'm always wildly excited when they've been able to find a lost film or can piece another together more fully. Abel Gance's Napoleon comes to mind. This tendency of mine (along with my history fetish, I'm crazy about history) probably didn't help me resist Solas much though, haha. The sense to "reclaim what was lost" is strong in me.
Rathbone is an exquisite Holmes, certainly. Even when reading the novels, I imagine him instantly.

Here's another great Solas render.
Fade flower! Makes me wish we had a gift quest for him. Then again, I'm not quite sure what we'd give him. He doesn't seem like the type to value material objects as a way of showing affection. Still, though, I wish we could've done something for him.
Oh god, I just had a thought. That final romance scene. It was a sort of reverse gift-giving scene. What is one of the things Solas values most? Knowledge. Something powerful yet intangible that you keep with you forever. His gift to Lavellan was going to be the truth of who he was. And even after he realized he couldn't bring himself to do it, he still gave her a powerful truth. To Solas, that knowledge is a gift.
...*sigh*

Me too!
Growing up I wanted to be Robert Osborne type film historian. I minored in it and wanted to move to California and do film preservation and restoration.
I was obsessed (still am, really) with Singing in the Rain and was disappointed to learn part of the sequences that had been edited out had been lost due to a fire at mgm. The film they used was highly flammable then and we lost lots of great films and clips to that.
My area of interest is musicals and film noir.
I should stop talking now. Its like when everyone else goes on a science theory tangent, though I can't tie mine back to Solas lol.

We're so starved for DLC news that we're just randomly throwing Solas pictures like the grasping fingers of a drowning person at the surface...
I'm so torn between wanting Bioware to take their time with the DLC and wanting them to hurry up. ![]()

I imagine a lot of it has been mapped out, if was not already in development before the game came out. I'm sure the writing was already going on when the game was released. They belong to a public company who has to plan budgets early. Now do I think it'll be released in 2 months - no. But I think we'll start to hear about in the near future. Do I think it will be about Solas? No. Anything final with Solas will likely be the last thing to come out and I imagine they've got a few big story things they want to do leading up to it.

Same, so much. Robert Osborne sincerely has the coolest job in the world (and he is just so knowledgable, too; it's amazing). I was never schooled in any type of film so I'm something of an amateur enthusiast. Working with film in a classroom setting must have been a joy. That fire you mention though, that sort of thing makes me cringe to my core. It reminds me of this silent film, Greed by Stroheim. That one was apparently this exquisite adaptation, but it ran so long the studio asked it be sliced to pieces. The pieces that are gone are pretty much forever lost and ugh, it kills me.
I think Solas would enjoy film study, though! Movies are a little like Fade visions, right? And apparently he and Cole have seen a lot anyway. ![]()

Oh Maker, Solas'd be so cute in the deerstalker/coat combo, he really would. Those super pointy ears would make it.

Your excellent logic hurts my impatient and broken heart, but I agree. There are several threads in-game that seem primed for DLC, not least of all Solas/Flemeth, but this has the most potential for a "final" DLC. Because the stinger was the big "WHOA!" moment for so many people, putting out Wolf Hunt first might be like throwing the One ring into Mount Doom at the end of Bilbo's birthday party. *Laughs.*
