Guys, sorry if I interrupt anything...

Quick question for you: if I want Solas to comment on my Rift specialization, do I have to complete the quest before saving Wisdom? Because I think I heard of a bug and on my normal PT, he never commented it. I think it was Jellobell who mentioned it. Currently on my Nightmare PT and I want that comment so bad

That's how I got it, yeah. You have to have finished your specialization quest before doing All New and the balcony scene. Not sure if the war table mission publicizing your specialization is required. I don't think it is.

As a bonus, there's a special rift mage only dialogue option after you find Wisdom.

I'm not into Civ. Much more into Crusader Kings II.  My favorite game was when I put my wife in jail, her father then paid me to get her out of prison, I got her pregnant and had another son and then I put her back in jail.  I was known as King Brian the Just.  I love that game so much.

Wait - special dialogue with Wisdom???  I played a rift mage on Trevelyan but never got the dialogue.  I only got the dialogue with Cole.

Not strictly talking about Solas. His tag seems to be mostly okay, though less so recently.

Also yeah. I think the fandom is collectively losing its god dam mind.  Now the hot topic is "Cullen is abusive" because that one time he threw the lyrium bottle at the door even though he didn't know anyone was walking through it.

You don't have to. I got Solas's Fadewalk scene right after getting Skyhold, and got the tea scene right after that. Then I did a bunch of side content and unlocked my specializaton before doing All New and continuing with the story.

Yup.  Queen's not bad, especially if she's attractive.  Her male vassals will love that, and I think the bonus is enough to offset the penalty for playing a female ruler 

 

Child is...less good.  You get saddled with a regent.  I once assassinated my own eldest son because the king I was playing was about to kick the bucket, and the son was a hunchback on top of being six.  As it happened, his little brother who ascended the throne grew up to be a useless, womanizing wastrel who nearly lost me Scotland.  I like to think that was karma biting me in the ass

Yes.  You have like a counselor but you pretty much do the same thing. I think...I haven't played in a while. There are like 80 billion mods for it and I'm almost certain there is one that lets you rule as a child.  Yes you can be queen.    I highly recommend waiting for one of paradox's really steep sales and you can get the base game with the expansions for like $20.00.  There are a TON of expansions.    Have a relevant Solas.

While I'm fond of CIv, I too prefer CKII.

Once on a whim before Inquisition came out, I devoted myself to a little side project in Ireland. I used the Ruler Editor to make Calenhad Theirin, Count of Ulster, and then united all of Ireland with iron and blood and presumably Reaver-augmented strength. (Calenhad was a lunatic who frequently eviscerated his rival lords in single combat on the battlefield. His son, Weylon, was a sweetheart. Because I handed all of his children to people far away from Calenhad. )

I even struggled to make the Fereldan coat of arms. I had to settle for two black lions on a brown and yellow background, I think.

 

I concur with Gandhi. I love that originally the Gandhi nuking people thing came from a programming whoops. Namely, that on a scale of 0-10 for nuclear aggression, Gandhi had one too many negatives and ended up as a 10. Later on they just started hardcoding him as maximum or above maximum, just to keep the meme alive.

It's weird, a lot of people act like you can only ever like either Sera or Solas but not both at once. And poor Blackwall is getting tons of hate flung at him. I mean, I see why people might not like him, but you can talk about him and his character arc like human beings. And then there are those people complaining that "x character's fandom has ruined that character for me". Which...confuses the heck out of me. Why would you let fandom dictate your opinion of a character?

I've been thinking about this for some time. I paraphrased his inner monologue. It goes something like...

"Okay, tonight's the night. I'm going to tell her, and it's going to be fine. I love her and she pretty much rocks my world, so if this is going to work, it's best for her to hear it from me. Right? Of course I'm right. I'm ****** Solas. So... here goes--

"Wait. I can't tell her... I've overlooked the enormous possibility that she isn't going to understand. Or even worse, maybe she will understand and come to hate me. I can't tell her. But damn it, I told her I was going to tell her something, but what? Damn it, think, Solas... Think! There she is, looking at me so expectantly, so beautiful and her face...

"Yes, that's it, her face! The valaslin. I can tell her about that Whew... crisis averted.
