I wonder how literal when animals are assigned to elven gods. Did they truely have that particular animal form or is it entirely based on symbolism in that particular culture?

Everytime I see Solas portrayed as a wolf I think back to the Warden-Commander's griffon statue on redcliffe,

It's strange to me as someone portraying their warden as an actual griffon.

You mean you didn't download the Seventh Origin DLC?

Oh my Glob! Yes it is! I found it fitting since I work in the Mental Health field!

Ah, you're both watching Hyde, Jekyll, Me too? I still need to catch up to this week's episodes, but it's fun to see others like K-drama *and* Dragon age *and* Solas somehow.

Now I'm imagining some sort of weird, Dragon Age Chippendales sort of thing...

LIIIIIIZ! THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!

ToP: Not strictly Solas, but it's the most appropriate thing given the subject matter.

NSFW?

Spoiler

Isn't there a whole series of these with Coryfish and the Transvestites of Tevinter? Does anyone know where they are?

Weeeeell it's a running joke between me and another friend that if Andruil had a beast form like Fen'Harel did that it would be an angry spitting drama llama :D

I think for now (until more content) it probably just depends on your personal headcanon? *shrug*

You're a griffon that somehow survived the whole mess in the Fourth Blight. Duncan discovers you and recruits you into the Grey Wardens. At Ostagar, he decides, "Screw this," and rides you into battle against the Archdemon, who is riding your griffon rival from college, and he slays it in single combat. You bring his body back to a mourning Alistair and the rest of the Wardens. Cailan cries and Loghain slaps him. The end.

10/10, would buy again.

I got you guys covered. :D

7295: The Grey Wardens are founded at Weisshaupt Fortress in the Anderfels, dedicated to wiping out the darkspawn wherever they should rise. The organization is formed primarily of veterans from the countless battles against the darkspawn. They maintain communications within the Imperium and strike quickly wherever the darkspawn appear, quickly erecting fortresses everywhere and receiving tithes and supplies from all lands.

The idea of taking in their blood is endorsed by Nakiri of the Donarks, whose people drink their enemies blood to absorb their power. This was likely backed by the elves offering knowledge of Arlathan, and the Tevinter magisters there. This was the First Joining.

This made me look up the Donarks, and wow that place looks interesting. It's the greenest area on the map, stationed just north of the Anderfels, the most blighted area in Thedas. And the boundary separating the two of them's called "The Weathered Pass". Pass to where? Weathered what? I must know more.

I read this while drinking a glass of water, so of course that ended with an 80's movie style spit-take. This may be my favorite post on the BSN. *Slow clap.*

Mm, same here! The leads are great, plus the Jekyll/Hyde dynamic with Robin is quite interesting to boot. And like the one in your signature, the quotes just before the credits always leave an impact. I really ought to get caught up, haha.

And Lambert Valmont died after six years from the flu, shortly after his newborn daughter and heir died. Also of the flu.

...Well, then.

Which Dragon Age family should I try to recreate next in CKII?

I think Garrett and Marian already took care of that pretty well.

That was terrible, I'm sorry.

Hmm. Only question is where.  Crap, I kinda got myself in a corner by making all those Free Marches HRE comparisons, didn't I?

I will never touch the HRE in that game.  Such a s***show.  Which I suppose means it's perfect for Hawke, destroyer of all things.

Also, all this talk (well ok previous talk, but I'm still catching up) about how the Wardens must have started is making me wonder about how the other organizations must have started as well.

The Templars and Seekers for example. I mean, we know they were the first Inquisition, but their magic nullifying abilities? Where did that come from? How did they come up with the Tranquility Ritual? Why did the Inquisition split into the Templars and Seekers? Are Templars just Seeker recruits who couldn't handle the ritual, and so they had to resort to lyrium? But how can lyrium be used to nullify magic when lyrium's supposed to enhance your connection to the Fade? And according to Alistair, it isn't even necessary. And that thing Cole says, about how the templars are singing old songs, I just, ARGH. DAMN YOU ORGANIZATIONS AND YOUR SECRETIVE NATURES. SO MANY QUESTIONS.

YEAH. ALL OF THOSE THINGS.

(Gaider's said that Alistair was lying his little pants off when he said he'd never taken lyrium, and that lyrium is necessary for Templar training. It's just that you can still use abilities for awhile after taking it. Alistair eventually went back on lyrium.)

Anyways, I'm currently making Malcolm Hawke Lord Mayor of Lubeck of the Hansa in the HRE. Never tried a merchant republic before. :D It's like a Baltic version of Kirkwall, with Gustavus Adolphus instead of the Arishok in a few centuries.

I'm laughing because I actually had a friend message me directly after finding out the big bad was Corypheus: "Hawke! She's done messed up again!"

Outwardly, I could only nod and agree. Inwardly, I began to cackle because he actually really likes Solas and it's like "No, Solas's done messed up again."

I suppose we should be glad Hawke and Solas never have to execute any plans together. Love them both, but no way.

Oh, and the Original Inquisition split up like this.

The Inquisitor became the Lord High Seeker. The Inner Circle became Seekers. The bulk of the mage-hunters and military personnel joined the Templar Order. Presumably, the rest just retired and became civilians or clergy. Everything about lyrium and the like is unclear.

This is great.  We'll find out if the Hawke ability to wreck all the things comes from Malcolm.  Or maybe it skips a generation and Hawke's kids will be awesome provided their parent doesn't burn the merchant republic to the ground

I made Aristide Amell instead.  I need to build something first so that a few generations down the line, I can make crazy pagan Malcolm and his lunatic children. :D

...Does anyone know how to play a Merchant Republic?

Mongols kind of strike me as the complete opposite of qunari.

....no wait...Mongols = Qunari before the Qun maybe?
