Oh boy...

Do you know how excited I was when news started going around Tumblr that Emery did voice work for Inquisition? I was like, "Oh my god. Fenris. I'm going to see Fenris again, rendered in glorious Frostbite." But no it was ****** Samson damnit.

*sigh*

Though Samson's a pretty cool dude too. But that was such a tease. After Adamant I was like, wait what? That's it for Hawke? Where's my Fenris cameo?

Aww, I could imagine how disappointing it must be for Fenris fans. :(

Yeah, I feel weird fangirling over Samson... He's terrible...  But Gideon Emery. :P

I also felt bad because my Hawke tried to help Samson, so when he showed up with Corypheus I had an "oh nooooo whyy" moment and also an "oh yeeeaahhh" moment cuz Gideon Emery.  Then proceeded to have mixed feelings the entire way through.  That one tranquil was heartbreaking.  My Lavellan had pity on him at the final judgment.

Wait, what? You can save the tranquil Maddox?

Mine turned to mush reading it because it's true, also I'm at work...alone, with nothing to do, that helps...

I'm not one for Gideon Emery's voice though, does nothing for me. Not sure what it is with Solas but I think Ave nails it. It's otherworldly, the rhythm helps too...

Solas' voice is much more melodic.  It's the lilting Welsh. It's so comforting.  He was sort of perfect in those beginning moments of the game. Your character is all panicked and his voice is so calm and reassuring.  My Lavellan was a little less afraid after she ran into Varric and Solas.

I love Skyrim. I am the worst at playing it ...or the best. I don't like the TES lore and couldn't even begin to tell you what was going on but I managed to spend 200 hours wandering around and wishing Brynjolf would love me. (Yes I know there is a marriage mod)

Aww, I could go on and on and on about Skyrim lore tbh. I've written a good deal about it.

But I couldn't do that here since it would be too off topic.

Oh no, sorry, I phrased that awkwardly.  I meant my Lavellan had pity on Samson.

Ooooh

hahah I was like NO WAY WHAT I ALWAYS HAD HIM DIE.

I feel better now.

I'm sitting at my desk at work and literally turned around because I thought I heard a shard behind me.

............

Listen, when I'm hearing shards at work I've gone off the deep end. Send help.

A little . Thankfully (or maybe not considering how it ended), I'd pretty much moved on to Solas by then

Wait, what? You can save the tranquil Maddox?

I'm not sure if I remember it right, but I think yes if you have Arcane knowledge

Edit: No wait, you don't save him. You just give him to Dagna for study instead of executing him.

To be fair - That's how I feel about ALL Bethesda games.  Fallout as well.  They make it difficult for me to give a crap about the over all story. I always have a ton of fun playing in the sandbox though.

Yeah, I think that was the weakness of the Star Kid reveal at the end. The Reapers went from inconceivable beings of power and destruction to, "We had a war with AI and this was the only way. Trust me. I did... calculations."

Yea... and then the dlc didn't help much either. The life they were modelled after was cool but throwing such beings the idiot card kinda takes away their cool factor a bit. I liked the thorian a loot more tbh. But still, nothing can beat Sovereign's awesome.

Rudimentary creatures of blood and flesh,

your minds struggling, too taxing, demanding,

You've touched my mind, disciples of belligerence,

fumbling in ignorance, incapable of understanding,

There's a realm of existence so far beyond your own,

endlessly infinite while dust collects from your bones,

You can't imagine it, no hope to understand it,

Your galaxy is ours, your worlds are our thrones,

I'm beyond your comprehension, my mere presence causes tension,

Collect the coffins, I am here... I am Sovereign.

I was shocked when I found out from Cullen that the man who was with Cory during the attack on Haven was Samson. I was like, "Noooo! Samson from DA2? Whyyy?!"

I had mixed feelings about him as well. I dunno, I just pitied that man seeing how far he's fallen.

And yes, that poor tranquil... Ugh! The feels.

You mean there was a point besides making my house pretty and organizing all my herbs into specific drawers?

OMG - and that look you give after he says "It appears you are the key to our salvation".  I laughed for like 10 min. after I saw my Lavellan try to smolder or blush or whatever it is the hell they did there.  I was like "NO.  LAVELLAN! You are embarassing yourself!"

Yea, they don't do the greatest job of integrating the lore with what's going on. But that's somewhat a problem in DA as well, but I think they have a hard time because their games are long running series and they can't really let you effect the lore of the world that much, and they also can't let the actual world change a great deal because of that. There are changes, but not enough. So roleplaying's a necessity.

That's why you side with Templars. Then Samson is replaced with some weird random girl with Leia Skywalker hairbuns.

Trailing behind on topics but there's something very satisfying about knowing in the crowd, protected by Inquisition forces is the means to blackmail Briala, Gaspard and Celene. I'm getting Celene and Briala back together <_<  so I don't need dirt on Celene but they know and you know that in one night the Inquisition took control of the Game and now holds all the cards.

Even when I'm planning to be a Stormcloak or skip the civil war quest altogether I go into Castle Dour(?) just to have Fenris tell me to leave.

My Lavellan is the master of embarrassing herself, and not just to Solas.  She's naturally shy and quiet, so being thrust into the spotlight is not something she takes particularly well.  She gets better about it, but I have to headcanon that Solas finds her sweet, guileless flailing cute rather than hopeless because she's just so bad at everything at the beginning of the game.

Calpernia is amazing and wonderful and the best  ^_^ I want DLC of her and Dorian making Tevinter awesome again by the power of their fabulousness.

I grew an irrational hatred for Tonilia when I found out she was hooking up with Brynjolf despite already being with the barman dude.

I may have tried to kill her.

She's vital so she won't die.

Endless sulking.

Probably a good thing I played it on PS3 without mod options.

Whenever I walk in he always tells me that Angelina's Aromatics is the best place to get ****. Or to occasionaly tell me that I "don't look so good." Thanks Fenris. I blame Bethesda's awful vanilla CC...

Pretty sure that's what Ander's tried to do.

And failed. I'm talking about Temple of Sacred Ashes levels of fire and brimestone. I want. nothing. left. Except for the hellmouth. Wide and gaping. And a few great, but terrible demons sliding their way out.

I think that's my one complaint about how demons were handled in DA:I - they were almost too ubiquitous. Yes, I get that the Fade was ripped open, demon apocalypse, etc. But I'd rather have Thedas fall to a few singularly great demons than an invasion of thousands. I think that's what makes them inspire so much fear in DA:O and when they're done correctly in DA:I with Envy and the Nightmare.

Those single entities were capable of inspiring so much destruction that the legions of rift demons feel.. inadequate and disappointing in comparison. I'd rather each region have only a rift or two with a single demon boss battle or quest alongside it. Sort of like if the only rift in the Emerald Graves was in the haunted Orlesian mansion.

This reminds me that at least my Lady Hawke survived my current PT.  She wasn't happy about getting sent to Weisshaupt tho.  Glorified Grey Warden babysitter!  Since Varric wrote Fenris to tell him where she's going, hopefully he'll catch up.  X3

I did with my Trevelyan. Didn't really enjoy the Templars side very much. Calpernia seems interesting though. I'm just veeerrry slooowly trudging through my Trev PT. :P
