This reminds me that at least my Lady Hawke survived my current PT.  She wasn't happy about getting sent to Weisshaupt tho.  Glorified Grey Warden babysitter!  Since Varric wrote Fenris to tell him where she's going, hopefully he'll catch up.  X3

That's my headcannon. Fenris angrily ends up going to Weisshaupt and preparing a really long speech on how mad he is that she left, but then when he sees her he just forgets why he was upset and just runs to embrace her for a really long time.

I love Skyrim. I am the worst at playing it ...or the best. I don't like the TES lore and couldn't even begin to tell you what was going on but I managed to spend 200 hours wandering around and wishing Brynjolf would love me. (Yes I know there is a marriage mod)

Brynjolf could call me "lass" from this world to the next and I'd still be starry-eyed. The day that marriage mod popped up on the Nexus was celebrated in deed.

If only marriage in Skyrim amounted to more than "Hey babe, made you this soup. Also I peddle vegetables in the name of our eternal love. Here's the coin I made pushing cabbages."

So I actually had the opportunity to meet Gideon Emery at BlizzCon two years ago.  He voices the male Crusader in Diablo 3's expansion, and I definitely rolled one so I could click on things and hear him talk   He was seriously the adorablest, this really sweet and slightly jet-lagged British dude.  And ugh, that voice.  He joked about how he always gets cranky, snarky roles even though he's not a cranky person.  But he does seem to enjoy the snark

omggggggggg I think I would die...like my ovaries and my head would explode at the same time. Even thinking about it makes me faint.

Ah, Brynjolf. My bosmer had a crush on him, even though she was already married to Farkas. xD

Also, I just realized that the elven PCs I play in Elder Scrolls and Dragon Age have a thing for either bastard princes (Martin Septim and Alistair) or wolves (Farkas=werewolf and Solas=Dread Wolf). :P

And on the subject of Gideon - I discovered him first through FFXII which I pretty much lived on when it came out. This is what made Fenris the canon Hawke romance for me. His character is still pretty annoying, but less so than the other romances and DAT VOICE.

He will always be Balthier to me though

I was bad for following the Imperials round in Skyrim because of his voice as well.

Reminds me of watching E3 last year and they started rolling the COD stuff. I immediately went into snooze mode because I'm not a fan...Then they tested how much I was snoozing with...SURPRISE GIDEON.

I want to love this. So I will - isn't this the nature of all real life relationships though.  I mean my bf works from home on Tues/Thurs. and he's like 'hey what's up, here's dinner.'  He goes to work and brings home money and doesn't bother me when I fling myself face first into Solavellan/Abelavellan hellspirals...though he's benefitted from it...a bit.

I MIGHT be willing to settle if they gave me pie. But it had better be good and that crust had better crumble like the Imperial Legion's hold on Skyrim.

Thank god, I was wondering if the milkdrinkers would pop up and start proclaiming love for the empire or not, lol.

Glad you know better ;)

Wow Liz, you nailed Skyrim romance perfectly..

Years of fiery disappointment were culminated in that scathing, pithy summary. I did NOT marry Marcurio to render him a personality-less merchant of root vegetables with the mindblowing powers of my Dragonborn vagina.

I DID, however, marry him to continue being the snicker to my snack as we vorpal bladed our way through Skyrim's virtual Jabberwocky of deep, dark dungeons and political cesspools. CABBAGES BE DAMNED.

My take on some of the flirt lines to Solas (in particular the 'anything I had to' line) is that they're not really Lavellan flirting with him, they're lines that make Solas start to fall for her.

Looking at it like that makes it easier to be super flirty with Cass and Sera while pursuing a Solas romance, anyway.

That's kind of how I felt about that line, too. My headcanon is more or less: "I am an elf and you are also an elf, we need to look out for one another because other races seem to like to do some pretty nasty **** to us." She feels similarly about Sera, even though she's not romantically inclined and despite Sera not being at all elfy. She has a very collectivistic mentality when it comes to elves, as I believe living in a Dalish clan would have taught her. And that's really how the relationship between her and Solas got started. A relationship based on mutual trust and care for one another's safety. At least... So she thought at the time...

Do you use Interesting NPCs/3DNPCs?  It has several marriable characters (including one who takes the best parts of Alistair and Anders and is also an elf) who are far more interesting than the vanilla NPCs.

And there's a mod to marry Brynjolf?  The way he says 'lass' made me wish I could marry him in vanilla.

Skyrim romance can be best summarized as:

"Are you interested in me?"

"Yes"

"WOW!!!1!! LET'S GET MARRIED AND HAVE TONS OF BABAIES!!!

Proud milkdrinker right here  :D Though in all seriousness, I really loved the Civil War storyline from both perspectives.  I think Bethesda did a great job of making both sides relateable with a pretty small amount of dialogue.

The empire not having a hold on Skyrim doesn't mean the dominion will. In fact, the only reason they're there is because of the dominion.

Yeah.  My Lavellan was also very aware that she could be in Solas' situation if it wasn't for the Anchor since they're both elven mages so she really felt that since she has power in the Inquisition (even if at the start she's just a high ranking agent) she should use it to protect someone she cares about (although it was a 'I care about you platontically' during Haven.  She didn't start getting feelings for him romantically until In Hushed Whispers)

Is the title quote for Solas a howl? If so it reminds of this:

Yes! And YES!

The Interesting NPC altmer mage... oh I can't remember his name... But he's hilarious. He's the one who will not escape the clutches of my poison-mage assassin. He just doesn't know it yet.

Rumarin!  He's my Skyrim husband at the moment.  We're running around Skyrim being non-sterotypical Altmers with bound weapons (bow for him, dagger for me).

I didn't pay attention to it at all - I was like 'oh hey I'm definitely going to be on the side with Saul Tigh and Fenris. K THX!' .  That's a lie, I paid attention a little.  From what little I gleaned I preferred the Imperials but it was a really tough decision. I wanted to love the Stormcloaks and I did...but I just couldn't care enough about either.

My only qualms with siding with the Stormcloaks is the blatant racism, racial superiority, and xenophobia. Also, religious-fueled terrorism. Still choose them every other go because aspects of their cause are incredibly just, but dang is it hard to do so as anything other than a Nord.

That was my issue with them as well.  I still really liked them and cared for their cause because freedom but they became so deeply annoying after awhile.

Have a Solas for relavance.  I love this picture - http://osatokun.tumb...920240248/meow#

Milk drinker right here!  But then I play as an Altmer or a Khajiit generally so Stormcloaks tend to hate me.
