I ****** hate the halla. Trying to round up that "golden" halla was a nightmare. Wanted to rip the horns off and sell them.
Lol is that safe for you to say here? ![]()

Return it?.. Return it to where?
To the weirdo in Redcliffe. That's the one thing I miss about DA:O - the serious lack of weirdos peppering the world and their bizarre quests.

I love the Dalish, don't get me wrong. But who decided that Halla were supposed to be sacred....they're just glorified sheep in my opinion. Dumb and useless.

The best prince is Phillip. Dashing and brave and I love him so much.
Ariel is my favorite princess. Because reasons.
The best villian is Maleficent. Hands down favoritest ever.
And this is my favorite show at Disneyland. I know it by heart, as I used to do crowd control for it. I love Disney so much.

Because of the pictures on the rocks. Elves had their own flying mounts too. There wasn't just the grey warden variety, and they called them griffons as well.

Spot on. Tbh all of them could somewhat fit Solavellan xD
@Avajajed, according to this thread http://forum.bioware...personal-quest/ the quest happens only before What Pride had Wrought but it can apparently not trigger if you never had BW in your party when you collected his artifacts.. Didn't know that.
This is from a few pages back, but I just want to say that this is absolutely not true! o: I have proof in the form of screenshots of my Inquisitor frowning at Blackwall during his personal quest, sans vallaslin.
For me, it took forever to trigger because Blackwall apparently felt the same way about my Inquisitor that I felt about him--"meh." If you haven't collected all of his Grey Warden artifacts, bring him along to grab some and then go to the Storm Coast and kill a bunch of Darkspawn. That should bump his approval high enough to get the quest. c:

Okay, then how about this. Do you like that Solas is racially barred off or would you have liked to romance him as a human too?
Personally, I don't think it was necessary, and I think that it'd be interesting to see the dynamic since he admits to not seeing the dalish as "his people".
I don't think Solas' romance was able to be good specifically because he was barred off, since Cass isn't barred off (though it feels like she may as well be). I think that the devs just bit off more than they could chew, and with the romance coming in later, and the females already having three options, this was just easier and allowed the romance to have enough content to it and not be generic like Cullens. (I went there!)
Hmmmm. I don't think there's anything inherent about Solas that means he definitely could not fall for a non-elven Inquisitor. Elven god or not, a non-elven Inquisitor is just never allowed to flirt with him. And since he only expresses interest if the Inquisitor initiates, we just aren't able to see how he reacts to being flirted with by a non-elf Inquisitor. So if they'd wanted to write him a romance that worked for all races, then I believe they could have done so. I mean, 90% of the romance scenes are the same as the friendship scenes.
However, that was not the romance that Patrick Weekes wrote. And part of the charm of Solas's romance is that it's very specific, which allows for stuff like the vallaslin scene and those amazing kisses. So, to answer your question, I don't mind that he's race-gated. The romance itself provides plenty of justification for the decision. Plus, if it wasn't race-gated then we never would've gotten it.
I think the real payoff for the race gating is probably going to come in any potential "Wolf Hunt" DLC. Learning that Solas is the trickster god of elven myth is going to have a waaaay bigger impact for a Dalish Inquisitor. That's the kind of dramatic irony that puts a romance plot in a category all of it's own.

I started shipping countries years before I ever heard of Hetalia, but I greatly approved of it when I did hear of it.
Russia.
Also, Germany being in the trenches and finding a crying child in a box (I think that was it, yes?) as the explanation for the Italian-German alliance is the greatest thing ever.
Hee! Yeah.
I remember sucking a breath through my teeth and thinking "jesus no do not open up this can of worms Japan" when I first heard about it though, and that was years before Abe's various visits to Yasukuni. There were huge protests in Korea when it got the green light for animation. (Total surprise, right? Who'd have seen that coming?)
My hangup with the source material is that (being a comedy) events are often defanged to the point of being inaccurate or uncomfortably whitewashed with regard to the Axis powers. Which I realize is the point to some degree: people are still people even given the horrors of war, etc. The humanizing aspect as a theme is completely legit, but some take the concept a step too far with the whole tee-hee-concentration-camps-were-just-Germany-being-tsuntsun, which is seriously, deeply disturbing. Just no. Do not do that.
It's a convenient way to frame political debates that bypass the language barrier, though. I have a few Japanese friends who aren't comfortable discussing politics or history in normal conversation, but don't hold back at all making their positions clear in manga/illustrations. The most scathing, incisive critique of TTIP I ever read was a Kiku x Alfred doujinshi. ^w^
...uh. Not that I read those. *turns pink, slinks off in shame*
