I'm in the same boat as you.  Clariel's 23, and on top of the age difference, she's pretty inexperienced.  Though I at least gave her a happy, stable family life and awesome parents because I am sick of my poor PCs getting saddled with problems before the REAL problems of the game begin 

 

And I'm one of those obnoxious writers who's incapable of writing generic, default Lavellan.  What can I say, I like mine! 

 

How would you describe 'generic, defualt Lavellan'?  This isn't asked to be rude.  I'm genuienly curious.  The Inquisitor is pretty much a blank slate when it comes to backstory, after all.

Here's an interesting thought. You know how Cole will start talking about a memory or a thought from one of your companions? We obviously can't have such an exchange with the PC since everyone's story and background will be different. So... if Cole were to bring up a thought or memory from your character, what would the banter look like?

The comment about unhappy backstory wasn't directed specifically at you. Sorry if that wasn't clear It was Shepard who turned me off the whole angsty backstory thing. I didn't follow Mass Effect as closely as some BioWare games, so I didn't play it until a few months after it came out. I just picked the default Earthborn/Sole Survivor backstory.

Then I got to thinking about what kind of person such a background would actually produce, and I was definitely creeped out. I wound up really liking my Shepard and sticking with her, but she had mental walls and trust issues that could rival Solas's

I only dislike it when the music's bad. I didn't hear music on that though. Probably my script blocker. My page has the sovngarde song in Skyrim, hehe. Awesome.

Our salute is a thoughtful simultaneous beard stroke. Followed by a lift of the chin as if a blade point was at the end. Which very well may be for all they know.

On the other hand, I'm immune to rain. It feels like you can pick out visitors by seeing if they have an umbrella. It was especially funny during school sporting events because our people would be walking and talking in heavy rain and T-shirts without any problem, while the poor Hawaiian and southern California teams were miserable in their coats.
