It was a blast from the past. Reminds me of the good old days of Geocities websites filled with animated gifs and midi music that auto-played when you went to the page. Then you had to search high and low to find the music player and stop the pain.

Nice!  I love that area.  The flatlands...*giggle.*  My mom lives just north of there in Blaine.  I grew up around Snoqualmie.

How would you describe 'generic, defualt Lavellan'?  This isn't asked to be rude.  I'm genuienly curious.  The Inquisitor is pretty much a blank slate when it comes to backstory, after all.

 

Not mentioning class, first name, or any backstory (or using the default names).  Basically Lavellan without any identifying markers.  IMO it also inevitably leads to a more "blank slate" version of the character with less characterization, but that's just my preference for a strongly characterized PC.

So while fiddling with notes for the Coryflora fanfic, I'm actually toying with the idea of doing it in 2nd person. 1st Person is proving difficult with Coryflora, and third person remains my back-up.

So, I've done it. The breakup. Damn... I honestly thought it'd be easier to deal with knowing what to expect, but holy funknuggets I was so wrong. ;_;

 

Does someone have that pillow fort handy? I'm spoilering the next part because I need to get this sh*t out and I know you guys will understand but I don't want to take up a massive chunk of the page for anyone who isn't interested. x)

AARGH! The scene was so sweet! They walk into the grove all lovey and holding hands and he's being so sweet and tells her the truth about the vallaslin and he removes it and she looks so damn naked without it, and the kiss was so wonderful and then he just breaks up with her like that?!

 

"Woops! Distracted you! My mistake, beg pardon, won't happen again!"

"Nowait nonono it's fine I like it I love you DISTRACT ME!"

"No LOL! Sorry, vehnan!"

 

Oh God she was so sad standing there on her own when he walks away. ;_; Poor Ilaria is just confused and sad and naked without her markings but I, me as the player, am so angry! I literally cried out "SOLAS YOU BASTARD!"  I think I startled my partner downstairs. xD

Okay, taking a step back. *deep breath* *weeps*

 

Still love Solas you little sh*t.. Awesome character, even after this. I'm gonna finish the story and then take a break off an elf ('cuz there's no way I can make another F!Elf without romancing that magnificent little sh*t) until I see what they do. Until we can get some closure with the story, for better or even for worse, because even if I am miffed at Solas this is damn good writing. I'm still hopeful there'll be a chance of reconciliation, purely because he says he's willing assuming they survive. I know he leaves anyway when the Orb breaks, but he still has feelings for Levallan, so I'm hopeful that despite everything there'll be a way.

I'm headcannoning Cole senses Solas's pain when he returns to Skyhold first, goes to him to do his usual comfort gig but Solas tells him that poor Ilaria probably needs him more. Sensing her pain through him (similar how Cole could sense IB's Tamassran through him), he finds her and goes to her, sitting beside her as she thinks about what she needs to do next and processing everything that's happened (Ilaria doesn't cry easily, she's stronger than me xP) and, after a while, he takes off his hat and puts it on her head, and sits with her through the rest of the night. Saying nothing. Only when he lends her his hat for that short time does she allow herself to cry, feeling safe and less naked beneath it.

It amazes me how people will know the outcome of the romance and do it anyway, and still end up affected by it in a way they never thought they would be. You are so correct that it's damn good writing.

I guess you could say I live in "The Hinterlands" which I love very much (small town in Alabama surrounded by a lake and farms). I remember traveling with my mother through cities in the middle of the night when visiting relatives in other states. I always got excited watching going by tall buildings, Industrial Plants etc. .
