Can you post the code? I want it to look like yours or it won't be a battle cry. ![]()
Rabbit has a picture she's working of them making out. I love it more than I thought I would. I ship Abelas/Love. Grumpy Abelas finding love is my current favorite. I love that he has a fandom even though he was in the game for like 10 min. I hope he comes back.
Haha, I've been working on it for far longer than I would like. Yeah I like the idea of Abelas finding love in modern Thedas. His duty of Mythal is now more relaxed with the well gone. If not love, happiness and finding a new name to represent that happiness.

Wait, you got dreads? PIcs!
+ points for skull hair accessory btw
lol yea i do ^^
And because I'd fallen for Solas the Strange Fade Nerd and not Solas the Dread Wolf I was feeling really conflicted. So, in the end, I don't mind how it turned out. Solas ended up being a way more complex character than I thought he'd be. And the fact that he obviously loves Lavellan very much, and tries to tell her the truth whenever he can, is enough for me.
I might be in the minority opinion here, but I don't really see a difference between Solas the Fade Nerd and Solas the Dread Wolf. He lied about what he was and where he came from, but not about who he was as a person. And if you pick the snarky/bitter dialogue option with him post-breakup, I think he's telling the truth when he says that Lavellan saw more of who he was than most.
Whatever name he uses, he's still the same complicated person. I think that's part of why he's so bitter about the Dalish, that they've simplified the Dread Wolf into this monster.
Here you go:
Muahaha, thank you sensei. ![]()

Go forth, grasshopper

You are not. He wouldn't be the strange fade nerd without the Dread Wolf persona.. He needed that past for his contrition. He wouldn't be Solas without it. I want to give him a hug.
TOP NOT SOLAS BECAUSE IT'S TOO FUNNY - SOURCE

I added it to mine too, because..why not?
A question by the way, maybe a little pointless but I'm just curious what you guys think:
How do you think Fen'Harel was friends with the Forgotten Ones? According to Andruil's codex, even gods shouldn't stay in the Void for long. So how did Solas manage to strike a friendship with creatures from the Void, since I doubt they were free to wander around Arlathan too?
I definitely prefer to see them as the same character. Although opinions may always change with how the story goes in the future.
People change over time. Particularly when you have the luxury of living for thousands of years. I wouldn't be surprised if he was a complete villain in the old days, or maybe just arrogant and aloof. Someone who was proud of his intelligence, but squandered it. Either because there was no one to serve as a fitting rival, or he was brilliant but lazy.
Then something happened. We don't know what it was, but something seems to have broke. Now he's trying to fix the mistakes. Him being just an elf might be good for happy endings, but the overall persona makes for a much more interesting character. I am a sucker for redemption stories, even if they don't always succeed.

Since we were discussing Skyrim a few days ago in the thread, does Solas remind anyone else of Paarthurnax? I get that vibe of "I f***ed up bad before and now I need to atone" from both of them. Though Paarthurnax has his s*** together a lot better than Solas.

Did you save loghain and allowed alister to run off to become a wailing drunk?

I saved Loghain and told Alistair to stop crying and enjoy his political marriage. Best of both worlds!
How did I run out of likes so quickly?!?
@jello - good timing on linking the old spoiler group. I was just thinking about that yesterday evening. *thumbsup!*
Yup! I was quite adamant on not wanting him to be some old elven god.![]()
Even tried to convince myself that the trolling was just continuing, even after the game was officially released. Much denial. But, eventually I came to terms (sorta). I was always going to play a f!elf/DW rogue first (which meant I got ALL LUVIN'), and figured I would give myself an "out" if needed.
Hmmmmm.....yeah. No. That didn't work. The egg-head vagabond, up and spoke. Words. Like these.....SORRY!
I don't get the likes system too. Sometimes I have a lot, sometimes it feels like I just have three.
And forever lulz at the way people can never leave the hellspiral despite knowing/having an inkling of where it's going to lead. There is no escape.

Huh?! You could do that?! I thought you have kill Loghain so the Alistair would be happy enough to take the throne!

Oh, no, I totally get what you're saying. And same here. At the time, though, it was a bit of a shock. Because all we were hearing was "solas is the dread wolf", "he betrays the Inquisition", "he kills flemeth at the end and then leaves", which was pretty alarming without context. People were talking about how he might just be stringing you along the whole time because he's the dread wolf and the dread wolf is evil. We didn't yet have the perspective of a whole game's worth of Solas being an awesome, compassionate person. Which is why I was so relieved when I met him and saw that he was more or less who he presented himself as. Just with a few things left out. ![]()
That's why I don't hold his lying about his identity against him. The person we came to know and love over the hundred or so hours of Inquisition is Solas. And he's also the dread wolf. And instead of being this big scary monster, the Dread Wolf is actually rather cuddly when you get to know him. That's the kind of subversion of an already-established story that I just love. Turns out it wasn't Solas we'd been mistaken about, but fen'harel.
Huh?! You could do that?! I thought you have kill Loghain so the Alistair would be happy enough to take the throne!
No. You have to harden him, have high persuasion AND approval with him but he'll do it. He'll HATE you forever I assume though.

I accidentally spoiled myself on Solas's identity partway through my first playthrough with Lavellan. And I already knew (again, I'm bad with spoilers) that he had no endgame files, which meant he had to leave the party. I jumped into that hellspiral anyway because I'm a sucker.
Anders was the same way. I didn't spoil myself, but it was pretty obvious where he was headed, and I thought to myself, "OK. 100% on board the crazy train to explosion town!" I feel like I have no right to complain about all of BioWare's tragic romances since even when I know it's going to be a disaster, I just kind of shrug and hop in anyway.
Though Solas...ugh. I've done trainwreck, and nothing has destroyed my feels as badly as Solas. I knew he was going to leave. I knew he was the Dread Wolf, and that breakup still killed me.

He hates you until the end of the game, where he promptly forgets and treats you like a friend all the way through Awakening and into DA2. So, no harm done! Just harden Alistair, convince him to stick with the plan, and you get Loghain alive + king Alistair and Anora.

Just curious, who did you romance for DA:O and who was your warden? Just wondering if I should run my choice of prospective LIs by you first to see if they click your tragedy meter next game

Until Adamant, at least

Out of likes: I was floored when he dumped me. Like I literally thought I must have fucked up my game because I had such high approval with him. So I checked and I was it was like 'nope. just hell.' I don't know why this one romance destroyed me. The Dread Wolf thing didn't kill me. I just was like 'oh..well...interesting". It was the fact that he left and said nothing.
I romanced Anders on my first PT as well because Awakenings and I was just like 'WTF DUDE' but by that point I was so unhappy with the way the writers handeld his character I didn't really give a crap.
