Eru is based on the Christian god, though, and I'm skeptical that DA is going to go that route, at least in a way that they'll ever identify as such.

I see the Maker and the Chantry structure very similar to Christianity, though I don't think we'll ever get a statement or proof that says "the Maker is this"; that would strip the figure of the Maker of its mistery and unreachable quality.

I always assumed It was something like.

The Maker(?) - God god, Omnipotent and all that.

             I (Connected somehow, maybe?)

Elgar'nan and Mythal/The Forgotten Ones, whoever they are. - Extremely powerful beings who are different then the rest of the Elven Pantheon

             I

Their *Childern*, The Elven Pantheon. (Maybe Fen'Harel? aswell)

             I

The elves who somehow obtained godhood. (Maybe Fen'harel goes here?)

I'm pretty sure that Mythal and Elgar'nan are somehow different then the rest of the Pantheon, hence the whole All-father, All-mother buisness.

This definitely seems like it could be correct. Would explain why Elgar'nan and Mythal appear to be more collected than their children. And if the orb is Mythal's, also why Solas would potentially have trouble accessing it.

It's possible that the elven gods and old gods could fill a place like the Ainur or archangels, but Solas doesn't seem to know or acknowledge the Maker, which puts him in an un-Ainu like position. It does seem the writers don't intend to fully explain the cosmology. It makes sense, since DA is more about how faith affects people rather than about the cosmology itself.

Ok guys, I hat a bit of a tinfoil theory dump down on me and that NEVER HAPPENS TO ME so I'm a bit excited!

*puts on tinfoil*

Spoiler

It's definitely a fun theory - and one the fandom loves.  I am...hesistant to put too much stock in those dev notes because it's not explicit in game.  So I'm more in the "wait and see" camp because I am almost 99% positive that will be made clear in upcoming DLC/game.

This was discussed a few pages back regarding the Inquisitor's divinity and touched on in the ridiculously circular debate from yesterday.  I'm personally not a fan that the Inquisitor becaomes "god".  Mostly because it puts too much weight on the Lavellan/Solas romance and I think the devs try to be careful not to do that to avoid the very disparate world states. So either she becomes a god but due to contraints of budget they can really only discuss her in passing which is stupid.  Or then everybody becomes a god and I just don't really see that happening.  I think the orb is power.  Straight up raw power.  Dorian mentions that the Tevinter magisters could use them as well...not just Coryflora.  I don't want to open up a can of worms on this because of yesterday...those are just my thoughts.

I didn't mean the comparison as an exact parallel, but similar on structure and concept.

I do agree about the cosmology and that DA is more about faith; and also how the events and fight in the higher spheres affect the common people.

JUST LET ME HAVE THIS OK?!

jk, I am well aware of how unlikely it is, and if it came to be that the Inquisitor would become a god I will bring popcorn for the oncoming drama. I am mainly just happy to have found a turning-into-a-god theory that would be possible for ALL inquisitors and possibly be lore-friendly too :)

Solas can not be trusted with truthiness.

No but you can trust him to not outright lie. They're eating up the "I saw it in the fade" line like candy, probably because they're desperate for answers and don't care to ask how he knows them.

They are special for sure, and are connected to the fade more deeply then others. But I don't think they'd go full-on-god route. But they probably will be important later on, with the whole I can open rifts in to the fade fairly easily, bit.

Leiliana says it herself - noone was stupid there. Everybody was suspicious of him but he was so helpful and the world was coming to an end.  They needed the hlep.  Bonus points that he was incredibly nice and polite.

Only thing that I raised my eyebrows about was Leliana only looking into his *back-story* AFTER the fact, the whole his supposed village being gone for a few thousand years, when she supposedly had reports on everyone or something.

But to be honest, why would they care too much about that? He's a elf and a mage, they are normally pretty shifty. No one probably cared enough to look to deeply into it since he was pretty genuine about helping them.

She admits she screwed up but I think it was because to get more info. at that time would have been a waste of her people's time when everything was going to hell.  Then he turned out to be so helpful and so non-threatening, her and Cassandra just said "**** it".   She mentions that she actually had to send scouts up there.  I'm sure getting info. on everybody else was not nearly as difficult.

It's been already discussed, but the moment that it became annoying was in the temple of Mythal, when Abelas says "Elvhen such as you?" and Solas replies "Yes, such as me". Meanwhile, my very elfy elf Lavellan who also happens to be his girlfriend is like "Ooooohh the water... is shiiiiny." I know we are in a hurry and all, but really?

It is unfortunate that they didn't allow you to question him more. I'm guessing they figured it would make him look too suspicious, or perhaps, it would have been more to his character to actually be truthful at a certain point. Particularly after the temple of Mythal. We've already seen that there are ancient elves left. It wouldn't have been that much of a stretch to assume he was also one, possibly tasked with recovering the orb in the same way that Abelas was tasked with guarding the well.

But then again, the game is sort of ambiguous as to how much time happens between the arbor wilds and the endgame. It could be that there wasn't much time at all to ask questions. They arrived back, and Corypheus attacked.

Yes it's been discussed that the Inquisitor ESPECIALLY a romanced Lavellan(mostly because smarty pants dialogues are sacaraficed for the flirt dialogues) comes across as a bit of a dum dum with Solas .  I am trying to headcanon away her obliviousness because it rankles me a bit.   So in that situation - she was so mesmerized by Abelas' thighs and armor and lips and cheekbones...that she was like 'huh..what's going on?'  That's the only way I can get around her not paying attention.

Headcanon accepted!

They could have let the Inquisitor ask and Solas reply that he would explain after Corypheus was defeated. That way he could have taken it with him like the OTHER explanation he owes us (Bitter? I'm not bitter. Why do you say I'm bitter?)

To be fair, the Inquisitor, especially an elven one, has a lot on their plate at that moment. They're running on a tight schedule with Cory at their heels, they just had all this info about elven gods dumped on them, apparently there are still a few ancient elves living, they learn Mythal was murdered and not by Fen'Harel, and that Arlathan might as well as have been dead when the Tevinters conquered them, and they have to think about who's going to be drinking this well now. That's a lot to take in on just one temple trip.

Hush. Hush with the logic. You will not destroy my headcanon of my Lavellan getting anime heart eyes over the golden sex-god that is Babelas.

On the other hand though, plenty of Inquisitors might not let that fly. Romanced Lavellan lets Solas wait to explain his reasoning because it seems like he thinks one or both of them is going to die.

If he's talking about Corypheus, the first thing an Inquisitor would probably say is: "Uh, come again? Why does it have to wait until the end?"
