I want the Formless One to be terrifying beyond all comprehension, the name screams Lovecraft, I'd love him to live up to that... especially since we've kicked the asses of all the forbidden ones we've met so far, it would be a shock no?

Edit: Unless it's Solas or something, in which case..not.

The Formless One sounds an awful lot like that shapeshifter from the codex at the temple of mythal (the one who took on dragon form aka god form?)

I am SO confused by Lood Woolsley.  I never killed him.  I just begrudgingly took him back to his wack-a-doo owner so it was on here that I learned he was a demon.  So is he a possessed ram? Is he a spirit that took ram form to help the family but was corrupted from his purpose when he got attacked/lost?

Wait what? You can kill him? Why would you do that? Aside from that I've always been pretty confused by the silly ram too :)

If you kill him, he turns out to be a rage demon. Apparently he also talked to his owner, so there's something...questionable going on. But its hard to say if he becomes a rage demon only because you attacked him or if he's up to nefarious things. Maybe he's just a demon that wants to be a goat.

I suspect that guy was actually Solas.

And whoever it was, that sounded like some elven slave (belongs to Dirthamen), rather than a demon.

I just hope the taint isn't something elven in origin. Wouldn't make sense with the song of the old gods. I want something more unfamiliar, something the old gods may indirectly be connected to, but that we've yet to see for ourselves. If it's another case of "I'm not saying it was elves, but it was elves." Then it will get rather dull.

I'm almost 100% sure it's from the elves.  Part of the reason the gods were locked away maybe?

Could have sworn it was DA 2... maybe I'm thinking of Audacity. Which I swear sounds like a stripper name.

An addition to the temple of sacred asses? Yeah?

The curious thing about that story is why Ghilan'nain was encouraging slaves to take dragon form.

There will be a certain amount of irony if it is the halla that turns out to be the evil one. Like instead of the wolf you have to worry about, it was the sheep all along.

Elves = We screw everything up.

It's sad how beautiful their empire was for them to destroy themselves for lack of leader or gods...like it sounds like elves were worse than tevinter...much worse. They used to be the kind of elves everyone hated because it was an empire of dick heads.

Not you Solas, maybe a little, but not you.

but, if the elves decide to rebel and actually stand up for themselves nowadays, I think I would enjoy these elves more than the douchebags that ruled an amazing empire.

Wasn't Lord Woolsley a spirit that gets angry and turns into a demon because you perverted its purpose, like Solas says about his wisdom friend?

Edit: Lord Woolsley was probably helping that family too and then comes the angry inquisitor and kills him :C

Technically that Fen'Harel shrine in the Plains is located in the Crow Fens, but I believe it's suggested that the landscape wasn't always like that.  It might be more accurate to say that the Fen'Harel shrine is in Ghilan'nain's Grove.  There's also a weird landmark in there called "Broken Dog"...but it's a broken statue of a wolf.  I dunno, I get the feeling that Dirthamen, Ghilan'nain, and Fen'Harel are all connected in there somehow, and that one little codex is the closest glimpse we really have.

I'm going to be perfectly honest - I get the sense that no-one on the patheon acted sensibly in the least.  The more we hear from Solas and get from various Codex entries, I'm like 'why???'.  It makes me MORE baffled that he's agonizing over the fact that HE was the one that ruined the elvhen empire.  Kind of sounds like they did it to themselves.

The empire sounds like it was doomed to fail anyhow. Either it ended badly with the pantheon (assuming they divided by 0 and created a black hole) or the people went to war anyways.

I guess things wouldn't have gone so badly if he had disappeared. Maybe he could've led the people and try to explain what was going on, but then some might disagree and another war could start....yep...there was no way on preventing that.

Personal speculation, since we'll never know for sure. But my thought is that the guilt comes from the fact that he probably ignored the situation, or possibly even instigated conflict between the gods. He failed to speak up. Or if he did, it was too late. If the war was between the Forgotten Ones and the Elven Pantheon, then perhaps he put them into direct contact. Or if the source of the corruption was red lyrium, perhaps he originally goaded Andruil into pursuing monsters in the void.

That said- when you get to a certain level of guilt, sometimes you blame yourself for things that couldn't possibly be your fault. He can only account for the mistakes he made. We also know he has an issue with pride- part of Pride is imagining yourself to be that important.

I feel like there is definitely a dose "I should have anticipated things going this way and should have been able to prevent it" as well.

I edited some of Solas' dialogue from the break-up scene, for a happier ending. It's kinda NSFW though so use headphones. :P
