Have you... never seen the Princess Bride?
Long time ago. All I really remember is the inconceivable dude, lol.

Did you just say "As you wish" in Elvhen?
Dear madam, I love you.

"Oh my sweet Solas, what have I done?"
It wasn't my fault! He jumped into the middle of my combat with rogue templars and mages!
I'm sorry Lord Woolsley....
Apparently he respawns into another ram. You can apologise to Lord Woolsley.
(attacking him is something I could never do. He's adorable and called Lord Woolsley. That would be like attacking Druffy or putting down Dog in Ostagar.)
Aww, have you guys seen this Plush Solas? He even has an accurate costume.

I have a mighty need for that mighty need gif to show how much of a mighty need I have for this AU.
My Solas looks like he just came from an assassin's creed game. I also love how he has armor in one arm...Why not the other? Is that your casting arm, Solas?
Spoiler
Lol Solas Auditore di Firenze. I noticed he also gets armor only on only leg.

When Fen'Harel sealed off the gods, he didn't know what would happen to the elves, he had no idea about the Tevinter empire...anything really. Maybe he thinks that releasing the gods would be preferable to what is happening now. Maybe he has no choice and whatever he did back then is wearing thin and he needs his (and Mythal's) power to control what is happening rather than just letting it happen.
I'd prefer something like the latter. Releasing the gods just seems so derp-foresight-what-foresight for Solas, though that's with not knowing his thoughts and actual knowledge on the matter. But if he's actually trying to stop something worse from happening then it would be interesting to learn just what that is or why it happened. Also would be amusing since everyone immediately believed he wants to release gods or drop the Veil. Which could still be possible. I just don't want the story to be predictable without a good set of sense and emotion behind it.

How does an empire have absolutely no idea of a neighboring empire tho...

After this game, I think we can all agree nobody(humans, dwarves, elves, gods) knows what the eff is going on. Everybody screws up. Everybody is bananas. Everybody needs to stop and take some time to think about what they've done.
The Solavellan Princess Bride AU:
OMG. I leave for a few days and fall behind like 300 pages O_O That's it, no more fan-art breaks for me. Someone give me an overview of all the entertaining/interesting things that have gone down in my absence so I can run out of likes and proceed to throw things in a rage of rightousness.
Also, have a Solas.
My Solas looks like he just came from an assassin's creed game.
I love AC Solas. I had one too. HAD. -cries-

Would pay so much money to see this. And by soo much, maybe like 20 bucks.
It could definitely be a case of, 'wow those elven gods were assholes, but whatever is coming is even worse so we need them back.'
But I do tend to swing back to the fact that Weekes said that Solas considered giving up his plans for Lavellan. I don't think he could give up his plans if failing to do them doomed Thedas. [And by extension, this 'new life' he was leading with her.] He wouldn't have a choice.

That's why I go back to my saves ._. finish the whole game completely...every...little...drop of it and then say good bye to Solas.

Beyond the elves themselves, the Blight is something else to consider. If things are allowed to continue as they are, eventually all the Archdemons will die, and there will be nothing holding the Blight back any longer. Restoring the elven gods are they were might be the only way to hold it back, if they were the only ones with both the power and the knowledge to do so. But it might not be as simple as just letting all the gods loose to do as they please. We're lacking a lot of info.
I'm a little afraid that Solas might have to become something terrible to restore balance. Almost all the Old Gods are dead, and the last two may not recover beyond a state similar to Urthemiel. Fen'Harel was once counted among the Forbidden Ones... Maybe he can take the place of the Forbidden Ones in controlling the Blight, but he might have to fully condemn himself to the Void to do it. ![]()
“Since the invention of the kiss, there have only been five kisses that were rated the most passionate, the most pure. This one left them all behind. Until he abruptly cut the kiss off and tore both their hearts out of their chests. And then left her behind. In a wyvern nest. A romantic wyvern nest. But still."*Lavellan pushes a bandit in a wolf-mask down a hill*
