I like the combat in DA:2 more, too. One thing I did miss from DA:O was buffing. There was no buffing in DA:2 so my mage playthroughs weren't really how I like them. I think I heard they brought it back in DA:I.
Agreed. My preferred playstyle is either the archer/trapper rogue or a controller mage who buffs and debuffs and generally controls the field of battle. DA2 got rid of the buff/debuffs, and everything fun about archery was given to Varric and Sebastian.
They've said they've added more stuff for a controller-style mage, so that's good news, but I've heard nada about archery. [LOW WHINING NOISES]
The Fade in the Broken Circle tends to be rough on me because I play characters who make other characters better. (My first ever time playing DAO I had to restart my game because the way I'd specced my character made it impossible to get through the Fade. Good thing I did the Broken Circle first.) So I abuse the crud out of the different forms we're given in the Fade. But, overall, I think it's interesting. But it's one of those parts of the game where I need a break between DAO runs. Also, thank the Maker for my Prima Guide book.
