I'm slowly making my way through another Origins play through, just got past the Urn of Sacred Ashes with just the Dalish quest line and Landsmeet left. I might catch hell for this, but I actually like the combat in DA2 better than Origins.

So do I.

I've only just started this Origins playthrough and am already dreading the Broken Circle quest.  NOOOO, NOT THE FADE, YOU CAN'T MAKE ME  :P (Xbox player so sadly no Skip the Fade mod for me  :( ).

I'm thinking I might start playing Origins again, since everyone else seems to be. I haven't in years. It's either that or maybe ME3 again, since I never did Citadel and everyone seems to like it.

Oh god the fade T.T I just did it again yesterday and... it wasn't fun.

I guess I could be playing it on my computer and just skip the fade, but that's no fun...

Citadel as in DLC? Oh gosh, that was my favorite part of ME3 to be honest.

Hahaha. That's how I always feel, too. Definitely my least favorite part spanning both games. lol

Oh no, Solas can't be pleased.

Yeah. I only completed the game once and it was before the Citadel DLC was released, so I just never got around to it.

Oooh, okay. I reccomend it, though that's probably just because I thought it was really great. (Plus I got Wrex as a squad mate again...  ^_^ )

Definitely recommend the Citadel DLC as well.  It's completely insane and plays a bit like Shepard's having a medigel-induced hallucination at times, but it's literally crammed with adorable moments with all the squaddies, and then there's the romances...   I must admit, I always head-canon like crazy and play it post-game, because then I can pretend it's like a crazy, fun-filled adventure once the Reapers are dealt with  :P

I like the combat in DA:2 more, too.  One thing I did miss from DA:O was buffing.  There was no buffing in DA:2 so my mage playthroughs weren't really how I like them.  I think I heard they brought it back in DA:I. :)

The Fade wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't so long.  Having to do the Circle tower part and then the Fade and then the rest of the tower made it a bit tedious and boring, at least after the first few times.

I will have to give the CItadel DLC a try. Most feedback I've heard on it has been positive.

As for the Broken Circle, I just don't like being in the fade for an extended period. Something about the blurry beige environment just gets me super depressed after a while. It's the environment appearance that really gets to me.

Sorry, Solas, ilu.

I'm pretty sure my problem with the fade is how long it takes. It's just so tedious, and after multiple playthroughs I just get so sick of it. And I have to actually look up a walkthrough every time I do it. Whoops.

I feel the same way about the deep roads. It's just so long ugh.

Agreed. My preferred playstyle is either the archer/trapper rogue or a controller mage who buffs and debuffs and generally controls the field of battle. DA2 got rid of the buff/debuffs, and everything fun about archery was given to Varric and Sebastian.  :( They've said they've added more stuff for a controller-style mage, so that's good news, but I've heard nada about archery. [LOW WHINING NOISES]

The Fade in the Broken Circle tends to be rough on me because I play characters who make other characters better. (My first ever time playing DAO I had to restart my game because the way I'd specced my character made it impossible to get through the Fade. Good thing I did the Broken Circle first.)  So I abuse the crud out of the different forms we're given in the Fade. But, overall, I think it's interesting. But it's one of those parts of the game where I need a break between DAO runs. Also, thank the Maker for my Prima Guide book.

I didn't mind the fade because - hey free stats- however, Orzammar gets me every time. I think I have several games stalled there.  And yes, I also preferred the combat in DA2. Archery was so much fun and viable. I found it weak in Origins.

I sort of like Orzammar and the deep roads. It is a long quest line, but especially when you start to approach the broodmother, the story makes it worth it, to me. Especially on the first run, it was one of the most engaging parts, for me.

Hopefully the Fade is less annoying in DAI otherwise this might happen:

Solas: This is amazing! Nobody's ever gotten this far while being physically in the Fade!

inquisitor: (muttering) Stupid demon infested, Maker-dammed void.

I'm a glutton for spoilers, so I would sit here while they told us every single thing that happened if they felt the need to. I can't help myself. But the character info and LIs are the only thing I really, really want to know. XD

I always end up watching the "forbidden" livestreams of people who get the games early (until they get shut down).

Sorry if this has been said already. But does Solas's "lucid-dreaming" have any connections to Dreamers like lets say Feynriel? I thought Solas saw people's memories. Can someone clear this up for me please?

I don't think that's been addressed, or talked about. I'm of the opinion it's more of a self-taught technique, and I think it's less him seeing people's memories, and more seeing what the spirits have seen through people's dreams.

I think. Should I say that again?

Dreamers can actively reshape the Fade to suit whatever purpose they wish. Solas' power is similar to that of the Reciever of Memories in The Giver. In his dream state he can see and feel whatever memories and emotions are imprinted on the Fade, but he doesn't appear to be able to manipulate them at all.

I wonder how Solas's dreaming is affected by the events of DAI. It's said that he could sleep in places where the Veil was thin and witness memories imprinted on the Fade, right? But now the Veil is kinda thin everywhere, isn't it?

I wonder if he starts having really mundane dreams. Like, in Skyhold, when he sleeps, he dreams of the Inquisitor eating lunch in the mess hall a month ago. He'd be bored out of his mind.

I wonder where the heck Solas sleeps in ruins so he isn't eaten by predator animals who may roam through there.

Now I'm picturing him climbing on top of some pillar and curling up on it like a weird, over-sized cat
