Nah, the thread's gotten pretty slow actually. I remember having to go through 50+ new pages every day until a few weeks ago, but nearly everything's already been discussed by now. We're just sharing headcanons, speculations, puns, fan works and the rare bit of news at this stage, though the pace does pick up every now and then.

well since the thread is slowing down (do you hear the crickets bioware? easy way to put an end to that is some DLC NEWS) I made some more screencaps...turns out Shinzon's goals aren't too different from Solas' goals.

Well, this is the Werewolf codex entry from DAO:

Fereldan lore is full of instances where these creatures have plagued the countryside: wolves possessed by rage demons and transformed into humanoid monsters with incredible speed and strength, able to spread a curse to those they bit that would drive them mad with unthinking fury. When in this enraged state, a human host can likewise become possessed and be transformed into a feral, wolf-like beast. Tales differ on these werewolves of human origin, some claiming that their transformation into a bestial form happens uncontrollably. Some claim the transformation is irreversible. As is often the case with demonic tales, both versions were most likely true at some point.

 

The ability of normal dogs to detect a werewolf even when it is in a human guise is what first led Fereldans to adopt dogs as indispensable companions in every farmhold. The alliance between humans and regular wolves is the subject of the popular Fereldan folk tale "Dane and the Werewolf."

 

The actual hero Dane led a crusade to eliminate the werewolf threat during the early Black Age, and while werewolves have never assumed the same prominence since, there have still been reports of individual packs lurking in remote forests. In recent years, some have even been reported to have developed an uncanny willpower and intelligence... though why this is so is still unknown.

Apparently we have werewolves to thank for the mabari's current popularity. As to Fen'Harel, werewolves seem to be more a Fereldan than an elven phenomenon, though there's a few things of note. The werewolves we meet in the Brecilian forest were cursed by a Keeper, though it's unclear whether all werewolves had similar origins. Also, dogs can sniff a werewolf out, just as they can supposedly sniff Fen'Harel out, but I dunno, it's probably just a canine thing.

 

I really hope we get a mabari companion in one of the DLC's. I wonder if they'll react to Solas differently (I doubt it though. It'd be too much of a giveaway)

I am hoping for mostly post defeating Corypheus DLC stuff. I really want more story.

Also I was trying to find out when they announced DLC stuff for DAO and DA2. The problem is that they already had some DLC stuff basically ready when the game release and for DAI they made a point not to do that, but rather put all that they had right in the game.

I feel like all I do lately is try to find patterns and figure out how the employees on the Dragon Age team think. I've come up with nothing.

Honestly I kind of hate playing melee classes in this game.  Yes!  Let's go chase down that despair demon, ooh it flitted away, I'll just yank it to me with this handy warrior ability ... ooh it flew away again, let's go chase it down!  And there it goes again ... sod it, everyone else go kill that damn thing, I'm going to harvest this elfroot.

 

That warrior ability to yank things to you is pretty handy ... except when it doesn't work on wraiths or anything too large or certain boss mobs or another mob runs in front of your target and gets yanked instead or it's on cool down.

 

So I kind of find mage less frustrating to play.  But then, I'm lazy.

 

I hate playing the Warrior Class in DA Games. I get impatient with the two handed fighter because it's slow and I get bored with the Sword and Shield one because I usually end up with all the defence and none of the offence, so nothing can kill me but I can't take them down too quickly either.

 

I remember playing as my Sword/Shield warrior Hawke in DA2. OMG, I thought the Arishok battle would end in a stalemate. It went on FOREVER. 

 

So I haven't touched Warrior in this game, and probably won't any time soon. But I did go for the dual wielding rouge because I love that class. Yeah, spent much of the game just knifing the air. It was so frustrating. Everything either runs or teleports away. RAGE.

 

Archer is my favourite, followed by mage. I find it much easier to command the battlefield with them. Nothing can escape my arrows and fireballs!

Yeah I played a dual-wield rogue first time through and was very frustrated at not only knifing the air but also trying to stay on a flank.  Stupid mobs, stop moving around when I'm trying to stab you in the back!

 

Then I played archer rogue and mage and was like .. YESSSSS!!! I can just stand here and fire arrows/sling spells from a distance!  I AM A GOD!  Oh crap, that pride demon is beating the **** out of me ... RUN AWAY!

 

But yea, I definitely prefer archer rogue or mage in this game lol.

Maybe. But the way Zathrian uses it is pretty much in line with the current Dread Wolf mentality. Humans kill his son and rape his daughter, so he sends a cursed wolf after them, probably with the curse "May the Dread Wolf take you" in mind.

Well, literally just finished the game. And I feel like I do every time I finish a video game or book series. Empty. I've been off finishing the game because I knew I'd feel this way. And now its over.
