Oh, no, I have a theory for why ancient elves are bald.  (Finally caught up so I can participate instead of lurking like a creeper!)

 

Solas has lost both his hair and his power during his long slumber of exile.  The reason he is so weak?  It takes a lot of magical power to grow hair.  His body is using it all to shove follicles out of his head.  Once his elven braid of vitality has re-grown he’ll regain his full powers.

That, my darlings, is why dwarves have no magic but lots of hair.  That is why the ancient elves guarding Mythal’s temple are physically powerful but also bald and also not mages.  You’ll notice Blackwall has no magic and Sandal has no beard.  Proof enough?

Does this mean First Enchanter Irving and my Hero of Ferelden are the most powerful magical beings walking Thedas at this very moment?

Hey y'all. So I'm thinking about braving the Solasmance on my next playthrough, and I'm wondering what class I should be. I'm thinking either warrior or mage, I've already been an archer Lavellan. Now I'm kind of leaning towards warrior because I like the notion of being this tiny waifish elven woman wielding a huge 2H sword or axe that is almost bigger than she is, but I also wonder if being a mage gives extra interesting Solas stuff, being a Keeper's First and all. I've already been a rift mage and a KE on other characters though, so I know some of what he says about that, but I wonder if there's anything romance or flirt related that might pop up.

By the way, every time I see this thread title go by in the forum I can't resist from going "aroooo!" out loud... Fortunately I'm usually in the privacy of my own home when this happens. XD

I am romancing Solas as a warrior this playthrough (two handed sword, because I also like the idea of an elven woman carrying around a weapon that is bigger than she is) and I honestly love it. I really loved the class specific flirt for warrior, too (which is another reason why I chose this class) and I'm practically to the point where I could literally only take Solas with me and we would both survive just fine for the most part.

If they don't have beards, yes.    It's the beards and body hair that really suck up the magic.

Anyway, I do watch some, mainly just to see if the cowboys lost so I can tease my mother, and how the Steelers are doing. But that's it.

Uldred convinced Irving to grow the beard because he wanted to take over and he knew he could never rival him otherwise.  Amell is, of course, given a massive boost from the tainted dragon blood, thus overcoming the drain of the beard.

I've been living the fangirl life since growing up with Harry Potter as a teenager.  Wouldn't trade it for anything 

 

Not sure if it's old news, but have you all seen the post-Therinfall Solas dialogue that DanaDuchy posted from the game files?  Sounds like it was cut.  Now I have fanfiction plot bunnies for what a post-Envy demon quest might actually look like.

I got into Cassandra Clare's draco fics hard. All because I broke my arm and my friend wrote the url to the fan fic in giant black perm marker on my cast instead of her name. I stayed up to 5 am reading them. Physics home work be dammed!
