Does anyone else have the headcanon that Keeper Deshana was drunk as hell when they sent Lavellan to the conclave? No? Just me? Hmm, forget I said anything.

I have read your fic. It is hot and in character and there must be more.
YAY, I'm so glad you liked it! Solas' character is difficult to capture, but I really tried my best to keep it right. Ggghh, sweet Solas. ![]()

Yes.
ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED???
It was rather stupid on plot, but so awesome. I love seeing Emperors get trolled.
I don't think I've ever hated a Joaquin Phoenix character until that point...he made me so angry...
Also Russell Crowe was a babe in that movie...

High off of Elfroot maybe.

I'm probably imprinting myself onto her more than I should but she's definitely carrying enough baggage for it, which getting kicked out of your home will do, and she doesn't seem to have a healthy level of self-esteem as shown by her lack of confidence in her ability as a mage. Who knows, we only get a few minutes of dialogue out of this character, probably not a good place to do armchair psychology.
Honestly my saving grace for Cassandra will always be the idea that she found this sad mage somewhere and, seemingly out of character, said "hey, you want a job?".
I didn't think she had low self-esteem. She just acknowledges she's not a very good mage, but she knows she's a great researcher nevertheless. Not all traumas have to end up in depression. But yep, too little dialogue to analyze her much.

Actually, I headcanon my Lavellan snuck out of the clan one night and went to the Conclave as a mercenary against the Keeper's orders

Just saw this post on Tumblr:
I think about that Dalish Fen’Harel story a lot. After he sealed away the gods the Dalish say he “giggled madly and hugged himself with glee.”
And I wonder if that’s a lie. If, instead, the Dread Wolf simply noted the consequences of his actions. And cried.
If the giggles the Dalish heard were his sobs, and if in hugging himself he mourned, balled, and wept into his knees like the child he once was, the child he could never be again.

I swear half this thread is just deja-vu for me. I wish Sashimi_taco was here more, she'd know what this thread has already covered theory wise.
Oh and the other half is Lizasaurus' antics.
Someone mentioned this on the thread a while ago, at that possibility, everyone got sad and no one said anything about it again, it's possible...like anything else.

What is the ratio of jokes to depressing things?
It's a cycle. We get sad so we make jokes, then something gets us sad again and we make jokes. So around 50-50.
That one is actually hilarious.
I had to high five a wall after reading that joke

... Oh god. ;_;
;_;
But really, anything can be said with relation to the Dalish stories. Maybe Fen'Harel did not trick the gods into the mirrors but tried to save them from something (themselves?) and he only stayed behind to guard them. It would explain why he's afraid of dying alone. A Fen'Harel who saw that the gods were close to ripping to world apart and had to seal them in as a last resort might very well hug himself and cry in utter desolation. Poor egg. ;_;

Amazingly I also remember that chart.
Just gonna wait around for everyone to cycle back to the "Dirthamen is a disassociated personality of Falon'din" and make a Fight Club reference.

I still think they're separate, but now I'm not outright rejecting the idea because how awesome would it be to see someone as awful as Falon'din punching himself?

Ooh! Are we close to the theory part of the cycle? Because I had a thought in the art chat today.
What if the Void was a dwarf thing? The dwarf version of the Fade where their consciousness went to dream, but didn't have typical Fade spirits. Andruil probably could have found some crazy **** to hunt down when an ancient dwarf dreamt. Dwarves are also master craftsman, so they could have helped create her crazy armor too...
My second thought was: what if the Forgotten Ones were dreamer-abomination? I was doing Feynriel's quest in DA2 today, and Marethari said that most dreamers don't survive attempted takeover by demons, but the ones that do are powerful abominations. The primary elven pantheon were dreamers, along with lots of the nobility. Suppose the forgotten ones used to be powerful priests of the gods, or particularly powerful mages that became dreamer-abominations? That would command enough respect to be given a god-like title, and have them be in conflict with the pantheon. The only thing more powerful than themselves are the actual gods, who may or may not be "something more" than super powerful mages or spirits.

That is hilarious! But I actually meant the Spanish fresco that the old lady tried to "fix" a couple of pages ago. I can just imagine Solas coming back to Skyhold and seeing that on the wall. He then turns to Lavellan:
Solas: Vhenan, would you care to explain this?
Lavellan: Um, I was bored? Besides, I had a little anger to work out after you left. Dorian said art therapy would be good for me!
Solas: (indignant sniff) That does not resemble me at all.
Lavellan: (snickers & fist bumps Dorian)
Hahaha, sorry ![]()
That happens when you are trying to hold up with this thread in the middle of a night and gave up after 16 pages.
were it 16 pages? I can't remember.. It's like a crime scene here

Not sure if these were posted before, but I just saw these Woodland Realm inspired attire designs on Tumblr and I'm so in love with them! Definitely would've loved to see Lavellan (edit: well, my Lavellan at least) wear these to Halamshiral. TT__TT

And the boots!
(Edit: Okay, I might as well say that I'm not too crazy about the heels. Maker knows, how many times I've tripped over just wearing regular heels.
