I've got two
As do I, only both of mine are awesome XD
My little brother is a dipshit.
lol I'm a bit spoiled when it comes to siblings. We're all homeschooled though, and I think that has a lot to do with a kid's behavior. Plus, my Mom and Dad trained me at a pretty young age to NEVER be the kind of older sibling that they had/were, so anything they do I'm just like "Awwwww, he just deleted my entire story and replaced it with a little blue 'h'! That's so adorable <3" ...well, not at the time. But still. XD

I think that Coryflower implied in the conversation in Haven that the Inquisitor had made the mark permanent by using it. I think Solas would have tried to remove the mark rather than make it permanent. As in "Give my magic baaaaackkk!!!"
No, I remember the part with Cory. This was a conversation with Solas. I think it occurred during the conversation by the veil fire. I specifically remember Solas saying something about how the mark was done deliberately because I perked up at that point and actually responded (to no one, while sitting in my living room at home) that it was interesting that Solas was the one to say that, and I guess he would know. (This was during my second playthrough.) I can't be the only one to remember this conversation. I have it saved at home on my ps4 but, alas, I am at work and by the time I get home in 6 hours, everyone will have moved on again. I don't know about the implications as far as saying Solas is the one that made the mark permanent, and I'm not going to say that's what he meant by it, but I know he said something to the effect of the mark being deliberate.

It's interesting to think about the implications of the orb being able to make that choice for itself.I think when Solas says that 'it was deliberate', he means that the orb specifically chose to bond to them. The Inquisitor is the only person who actually accesses and uses the orb's true power. At least a portion of it. Corypheus attempts to at several points, but he can't unlock it. Solas can't unlock it.
For what reason, we don't know. Possibly might never know. The game seems to imply there may have been a bit of divine intervention going on there. Either via the maker, or the spirit world.

WHAT? But this means you live on in fame!
Which is why I follow and reblog from it
That and to confuse the **** out of the people following me.
Dang, this haired Solas I like. Not that I disliked the art of the others, this one just looks more "Solas" than the rest. Wolfy? Yea, that's it.
And it's fresh too! Thank you ![]()

Killabee is like a brother you antagonize on purpose after pinching your own arm and blaming it on him to mom.

I think I'm starting to see why your little brother's a dipshit. lol

Edit: the theory that Solas did it himself just reminded me of the conversation about it being deliberate.

Is everyone aware of this? I only ask because I didn't see it on the wiki. It appears to be written by Mr Sexy Thighs himself. ![]()
Ack...sorry they are so huge. How do I get the spoiler tags to work?

I just watched the veilfire conversation and Solas doesn't say anything about the mark ![]()
Still, I like the idea that it was pure chance and that they left open to interpretation whether there was some divine intervention in that chance. I don't really like the orb's choosing idea.

Here I thought anyone that touched it during that ritual would get the mark. I don't really understand how that works, but maybe since it was transferred over to a new user while it was active, the new user was given a sort of "default username and password" for it to function, lol. It is basically a device right?

Then I'm remembering the timing incorrectly, like I said, I wasn't certain it was during that conversation. It's possible I'm also remembering the conversation (the actual conversation) incorrectly as well. I know I have it saved somewhere on my ps4. I'm just going to have to find where it occurred for myself and figure out if that's even what he was talking about.I just watched the veilfire conversation and Solas doesn't say anything about the mark

It is! Although we don't know enough about the orb to say if it actively 'chose' the Inquisitor, or if it just reacted to some sort of...will that the Inquisitor had. Or the orb may have mistook the Inquisitor for Corypheus when they derped and picked it up.
I've even heard a theory that the Inquisitor might have elfblood somewhere in their respective family trees that it reacted to.
There's a lot of curious things happening at the conclave. We have a fairly powerful spirit who takes the form of the divine. [Presumably.] We have spiders, which seems to imply that the nightmare was already chilling out there. Did they pop over lightning fast because of the breach, or were they waiting to see what would happen?
Solas is pretty chill with the spirits- close enough that they might realize in advance that he was making a mistake?

Spoiler
It definitely does. I found the veilfire script in the Temple, but I can't remember if I read the codex. Thanks for posting it ![]()
To use the spoiler tags, you just have to write spoiler between these things [ ] whose English name I forgot, and then /spoiler to close the tag.

Well, whatever happened, it's fun to think and theorize about. I guess that's one of the reasons we're all here. Aside from the amazingness of Solas, himself.

That was my impression as well, the orb had just activated when the Inquisitor showed up and the mark would have gone to the first being touching it (I hesitate to call Coryfrilly "person") I think it is just a device for storing power, but we have very few information about it.

I think the conversation you're remembering is when, at Haven, you ask Solas about the Breach. He tells you how it's a massive tear in the Veil and that natural tears can occur but the mark on your hand seems able to exert some control over the Breach which means the Breach was created deliberately.
