"So anyway, here's my well."

"Uh, Solas? Why does it look like a doggy bowl?"

"Because my priests thought they were being funny."

We don't really have any idea what kind of mother Flemeth was.

We heard stories from Morrigan and saw them interact like four times. I have no idea if she was a good mother. We can just guess.

I want a cheesy Hollywood-style sweep-em-off-their-feet reunion kiss in front of the entire party.

(SNIP)

Though actually, I've been trying to imagine how a reunion might go for a while now. I really hope you get the chance to mostly piece together Solas's identity on your own (more elven ruins exploration!), but also for him to choose to tell you of his own accord. But I really have no idea what's going to happen.

I've given this some thought also as I'm attempting to write a multichapter fic that leads to an ultimate reunion. At first, I planned to have Lavellan go after Solas to offer him help and convince him to come back, but writing it felt oddly unsatisfying. Upon further reflection, I've decided that nothing less than Solas having a change of heart on his own & returning to ask for a second chance will do. I want Solas to actively pursue Lavellan and make up for all the pain caused by his emotional restraint. Lavellan is going to take some convincing that she can trust Solas with her heart again, so Solas is going to need to do some blatant courting and wooing if he really wants her back.

Rabbitonfire announced that she would be playing an old-skinned Trevelyan who'd romance Cullen.

THIS HAD TO BE MADE.

Also, I came across this sexy Solavellan comic on Tumblr. Not going to post all of the comic pages here but sharing you the most delicious pages (because you know you want them. ;))

You could check out the artist's Tumblr page for more pages. :P

Tagging this as NSFW since it's leading to sexy times (and Solas taking off his clothes is pretty hot).

EDIT: Also, comic is not finished so no sexy time pages yet, FYI.

Possibly with Sera gagging loudly in the background and Varric shushing her.

Also, who else is looking forward to the World of Thedas Volume 2? It comes out in May, I think, and apparently it's even bigger than the first one!

Grrr...out of likes.  YES!!  This is what I want!!! All of this! I want the book too!

We don't really have any idea what kind of mother Flemeth was.

We heard stories from Morrigan and saw them interact like four times. I have no idea if she was a good mother. We can just guess.

Well, we can't really know about the day to day life they had when Morrigan was growing up, that is for sure. What I was getting at is Morrigan's constant suspicion towards Flameth's motives. Morrigan never stop suspecting her mother's "other plans" for her after Flameth sent her away to join the Warden, on top of that, she didn't worry much about Flameth being attacked by darkspawms living alone in the wilds, and that was before she found out about the grimoire. After reading the grimoire Morrigan was scared and that fear was totally justified, but still, she never thought once about talking to her mother to verify the truth, all she did were sent the warden to assassinate Flameth and then ran away. In retrospect, what was Flameth's ultimate super evil sinister plan for her? to pass her Mythal's godhood.

Yes, I get that Morrigan never asked for it. I also get that Morrigan resents being raised afar from the society, be it human or otherwise. Flameth was being a tough mother, that could be unpleasant, but to see her actions warranted so much mistrust from Morrigan is just sad, and somewhat beyond me.......The grimoire incident probably destroyed most of what little trust and love Morrigan had left for her mother, but if she had trusted Flameth enough to ask, she would have known that she was not in danger of being possessed .

I hope that when Morrigan realized her new found godhood, she doesn't channel her resentments for her mother into resentments for other elven gods or elves...

I think that however the reunion comes about, the Well will likely be involved.  It's not much of a clue, but the war table mission for researching the Well is never really concluded.  Leliana takes over the research to maintain control over who sees what, and it just sort of stops there.  Seems kinda strange.

But I'm probably completely wrong.

There is something glorious about Solas wearing the three wolf moon shirt. Doubly so because I think he'd actually shop at Mountain.

Lavellan is going to take some convincing that she can trust Solas with her heart again, so Solas is going to need to do some blatant courting and wooing if he really wants her back.

Heh. I'm not writing a fic (...yet), but the way I imagine it is, post-game, Lavellan continues to manage the Inquisition while following up some leads Leliana found for her by investigating several ancient elven ruins, which reveal pieces of the story of Fen'harel's "betrayal". Then, just as she's about to make the connection, Solas suddenly returns to Skyhold, bringing news that an even greater threat is on the horizon. In their subsequent conversation, Lavellan is able to ask some very pointed questions, and the whole story eventually comes out (Solas giving the orb to Cory and all). He turns away, convinced that Lavellan will now want nothing to do with him, but he feels a hand on his arm. Cue ridiculous hollywood kiss. *Is such a sap*

But in any event, I have a feeling that if/when there is a reunion, Solas isn't going to make the first move to rekindle the relationship unless Lavellan first shows him that she's still interested. This is a guy who is convinced that she's better off without him, and who is so closed-off that he has a very difficult time letting anybody in. After everything he's done, and everything he's done to her, I think he'd be rather surprised if Lavellan wanted to rekindle their relationship at all. Pleasantly surprised, of course, but he's not going to go in thinking that she still cares for him.

Has anyone speculated on where Solas/Fen'harel was asleep all this time? I have to admit, I'm rather getting obsessed with his recent backstory....

I was just replaying Act 1 of DA2 and realized that there were ancient elves doing Uthenera on Sundermount, as Merrill mentions, but also, this is the same place where, as Hawke, you summon Flemeth/Mythal with the amulet. When she appears, she talks about needing to keep an appointment one year after she saved you outside of Lothering from darkspawn, and by this, I'm led to believe she's talking about meeting up with Morrigan. Morrigan, as we know, never shows because she thinks Flemeth is going to possess her body and/or take her Old God baby away from her, if he exists.

But, this whole thing about why she was summoned on Sundermount and how Keeper Marithari was able to just know she had to move her clan there at that time is interesting. She claims she knew because she listened to the wind and such mystical things like that. Why would she only go there just for Flemeth's summoning? Not only that, but she doesn't move her clan on to other places, but sticks around for another 6 years (very suspicious).

This led me to wonder if this is where Fen'harel was asleep all those centuries. From a codex entry that had to be decoded, which can only be picked up in Act 3 of the game, you find out that Fen'harel would be awakening with an eclipse, which suggests he woke up during Act 3 (9:37 Dragon). Also, Sandal says some weird crap only during Act 3, which is basically a prophecy that D. Gaider intentionally put in there because he knew where the story would be headed, so he decided Sandal would say something cryptic to creep the player out.

Okay, but why believe Fen'harel was on Sundermount of all places in Thedas? Because D. Gaider also mentioned from the same interview that Corypheus weakened the Veil because of his close proximity to Kirkwall, making the mages very susceptible to being crazy. But, Corphy does not awaken at any specific date that I know of--only between 9:31 and 9:37 Dragon. You get to choose when to go kick his butt in the game. But, Fen'harel seems to have awakened during a specific year that corresponds to Act 3 of DA2, thus 9:37 Dragon.

Added to this that if Fen'harel were also very near Kirkwall, then an absolute awakening of an ancient Elvhen god would REALLY weaken the Veil and cause an explosion of sorts. Sounds like Anders blowing up the Chantry, which happens at the end of Act 3, 9:37 Dragon. The best thing to indicate an eclipse actually occurring in DA2 is when you see that in Act 3 of the game, the sun is dimmer in the sky than it is during the other previous two acts. At least it is in Hightown. I always wondered about this. The sun is not low enough in the sky to justify how dim it is outside. Also, I've finally taken notice of how it magically gets dark outside right after Anders blows up the Chantry. Isn't that weird? Why is it suddenly dark out when not more than a matter of minutes went by from the time you first went the the Gallows and then went back to Hightown?

A full solar eclipse was probably taking place, but the game simply failed to mention it happening and/or the characters were too distracted to even take notice of it. It's Fen'harel awakening near Kirkwall, causing mages and the lone Red Templar to act like crazy freaks, I tells ya!

That is a really well thought out post! If you consider Redemption canon, then the blood ritual to contact Fen'Harel takes place on the Sundermount as well.

I do like the idea of the chantry explosion possibly waking him up. It would be a good way to frame his state of mind at the time, and why he might have taken some extremely rash actions.

<snip>

You have all my likes! That is a very interesting theory! Assuming that's what really happened, I do hope we could get to see an awesome flashback (maybe in cinematic cutscenes) in the DLC showing all these events you've mentioned leading up to Fen'Harel's awakening. That would be goosebump worthy.

*sigh* But most likely, for budget reasons, they'd probably just show the characters talking about it rather than show it in cinematic cutscenes.

I wonder if there's any way to determine whether an eclipse actually happened at that time. It would be nice if one of the writers could confirm that, though I suspect that they may not be allowed. The theory makes excellent sense, however, and fits the timeline very well. Nicely explained!

We can probably also accept these specific details aren't just there for filler or flavor. A few weeks after release, I remember Mr. Gaider mentioning that these twists with the elves (and thus I assume Fen'Harel, our dear Solas) were long in the set-up. And these hints, especially as you've outlined them, suit that purpose.

I feel sad for Merrill then, a bit.  Like Morrigan she left to search and recover the treasures of her people and one of the greatest was right there.  Because Solas is a treasure <3

The only downside with them having everything planned out is that they are probably well aware of what we're fishing for if we ask about eclipses, hehe. Although even if we get the 'spoilers!' response, it might be interesting to see what they say!

I am personally curious as to what was trying to break out during Witch Hunt. When Zenovia says something like, 'The prison has been breached! The shadow will consume all!' When does that take place on the timeline? There's no follow up with it, but the writers have said her predictions are not random.
