Same here; with high approval Vivienne feels even a bit motherly, which fitted my Lavellan that I headcanon as pretty young. If she ever looked up to someone to learn navigating her new position, it was definitely Vivienne. Her being a hunter, Solas was more an advisor on issues she didn't know about than a true mentor.
I also dislike the hahren-da'len dynamics. I can see that it can appeal to some people, but I prefer relationships on equal terms. Even taking into account the huge difference in age and knowledge, Lavellan is a pretty amazing and powerful woman capable of many feats; in Solas own words, she handles everything with a subtlety and wisdom beyond her mortal condition. So I'd rather picture them as equals, at least in their relationship.
So... there's more ancient elves roaming Thedas, not only Solas?

I'm like 100000 percent sure any important story DLC will be last.I take a break from the forums for a weekend and find out that have announced DLC with no further information... Don't know whether to be excited or remain in the same frame of mind since they won't say what the dlc is about....

I don't think it "appeals" to me as much as doesn't bother me. Don't they call each other those terms in-game? I could be remembering wrong but I'm almost sure she refers to him as haharen early, and she da'len at skyhold. But regardless I don't care what people put in ff because that's their business, I don't have to read it.
That's the thing though. Solas and Lavellan never referred to each other as hahren and da'len in my playthrough, so when I finished the game and went scrounging for fics, I was like, where did that come from? I'm not into teacher/student or elder/innocent relationships either (they squick me out a little actually). It's pretty sad that I can't enjoy fics like Apotheosis though, since a lot of people say it's a great read.

I remember trying to kill the dragon in Hissing Waste. It was minding its own business before I came close, and halfway during the battle its dragonlings came to attack me. I felt so guilty wracking a family............

That scene is just so stupid. If she thinks my character is petty enough to even give a damn, then she hasn't learned a thing about her.
I don't do the Orlesian politics quests at the war table because screw the Game, we've got better things to do. So yeah. I'm not set up to be able to do anything with either Sera or Vivienne. They're benchwarmers.
Oh I was so angry when Viv moved my furniture around. I'm sure my inquisitor Abaeni wouldn't have cared, but I as the player was sooooo angry.

They call each other that in one of the first conversations in Haven, but I don't recall them ever using those terms after that.
But if things in it are things that would squick you out, it wouldn't be a great read for you. Thems the breaks, I guess.

I think Solas is projecting is self-hatred onto the Dalish, and he feels closer to Sera because they share that self-hatred.
Well said. I agree. He gets angry with the Dalish for being stuck in the past but he's the same way. He too wallows in his self-pity in a way, in his guilt. What's done is done. No point crying about the past, there is no going back for anybody. What the elves lost can probably never be reclaimed. Not even by The Dread Wolf. Sera knows and accepts it. Solas envies her for being able to just let go and make do with the cards she's been dealt.

That's why I can't be too harsh on her for her post-mythal freakout. That entire chain of events just pushed so many buttons for her, that I think she was having a bit of a panic attack. As she said, if she accepts that the elven gods are real, then that brings the existence of the Maker into question. And if there's no Maker, then there's no afterlife, and this is all there is, which is her greatest fear.

That's what I thought at first too. But might be more than that. Everybody is equal under the Maker. She's not nothing to the Maker. She gets accepted for who she is as a follower of Andraste. It doesn't matter if she's an elf or human or something in between. If the Maker is not real but the elven gods are, then she is a failure again. The biggest failure and fool of them all.
