Why do you not refuse them to join (Vivienne) or tell them to leave (Sera if you accept her at first for the bees)? Does it have benefits to keep them around or disadvantages to make them go/not take them in?

I mentioned I didn't recruit Sera on my last game. I did recruit Vivienne since I was playing a Circle mage and intended to have her be friendly with her, but I just wasn't interested enough to do anything with her. Not only don't I like her, every time I took her out on missions I found her comments to be petty and dull. Dorian and Solas are so much better as companions. I did like her arguments with Solas but that gets old quickly.
 

I'm always friendly with Vivienne for some miraculous reason since I go against everything she stands for.   I do like her character though so I did do the war table missions and was able to be friends with her.   I agree though, I thought that scene was so hilarious and I don't understand why the writers thought that would compare to the other 'low approval' scenes.  I'm like you,  I would have been like 'uh...have fun decorating i guess. if you could, somebody needs to do something about the basement, thanks.'

Same. If she wants to exercise her bitchiness on something, try some of the rubble areas and actually make yourself useful.
 

Even if playing the game means you'll amass more help to save the world? My Revas isn't super into this court nonsense and is willing to put a stop to things that will not further her goals, but at the end of the day, she'll do whatever it takes to save the world, no matter how many orleasian asses she's got to kiss.

That's what Josephine is there for. I know some people see their characters as political, but I'd rather see Lavellan end up as a halla herder. At least halla droppings have some practical use which is more than you can say for the Orlesian nobility.

Agreed on not liking the hahren/da'len dynamic some people keep going. After that first conversation it's just weird.

I could misremember, I thought he called her Da'len after coming to skyhold with high enough approval. Maybe it was Lethalin or whatever, I forget what that means.

He calls her lethallan, not da'len. To me the hahren/da'len dynamic is all wrong. At first it's a politeness thing but even then he sounds uncomfortable calling her that.

Edit: Assuming his concept art was young Fen'Harel of course  . I still haven't given up on Fen'Harel was just a village kid who launched a rebellion against the gods though.

 

That's my headcanon about how he started; a village kid all power and arrogance wanting to change the world but then he was named a Creator and got sucked in to the political games and power plays.

Yes.  Black Emporium is a must, IMO.  I used it constantly.  Tweaking makeup, changing hair after each act, plus I just wanted to talk to Xenon sometimes... that guys is a HOOT.

Be glad we get the patches later, they have to go through certification first, which is why we have the delay. We have less problems because of that, I think, and less game breaking issues to begin with.

I did not read any of the books, so my knowledge on Felassan is basically non-existent. I only know that tiny bit of lore because he appeared as a ghost in DAO. May I ask what he said or if there is anything interesting about this in the books/related to him?

 

I think you must be confusing Felassan with another character.  He's an elven mage who was one of the main characters in The Masked Empire and is heavily implied to be an ancient elf.  He has vallaslin which means he's most likely the slave of a god, but he clearly admires Fen'Harel and teaches Briala a lot about him.

Yep, I can't not keep all of my companion's things... I just remember Aveline's comment in DA2 about how I probably "pawned off" Wesley's shield, and I was like *blink blink* but, it's.. it's in my storage chest! I...thought you knew?! You come over like, ALL of the time!

 

After that I just had her don his shield permanently.

 

Same reason Blackwall still wears the griffon helm.  It does NOTHING for him, now that we're level 20, but, it's... just, I CAN'T.

So... I couldn't sleep last night and I wrote some smutty fan fic. It's NSFW. I haven't posted it anywhere so I'll just copy and paste it. I'm a horrible writer.

Solas paced back and forth in his room. The stone floor cold against his bare feet. He had been getting read for bed, having removed the uniform he had been wearing and was now only wearing pants, but now he could no longer get the imagines of Lavellan dancing and laughing at Halemshiral out of his mind. They had shared one dance on that balcony before Josephine interrupted, taking Lavellan away from his arms to talk to more nobles. Always more nobles. Congratulations on saving The Empress. He returned to the shadows, ignored by every one and watched her play the game. Every so often, a servant would pass by with wine and cakes, Solas would help himself. Hours after the ball had ended, he still felt the alcohol turning his normally calm and collected soul into passion and fire, the wolf needed to be free from it’s cage. He wanted her, he needed her. They had waited, waited for the perfect moment. He wanted it to be perfect for her, but he could no longer wait. They had quickly kissed good night before retiring to their separate rooms. They would spend the night at the palace and return to Skyhold in the morning, it would take several days. Solas could not wait that long. His body burned for her. He blamed the alcohol, but he also blamed himself. It had been so long, and she was in the room across the hall. He no longer cared if he was seen, sneaking out of his room in the dead of night. An elf wearing only pants, tiptoeing to the Inquisitor’s room. Oh, the soldiers that stood guard would talk in the morning, he laughed at the thought as he opened the door and walked over to Lavenall’s room. Was she still awake? He knocked.

“Who is it?”  her voice adding fuel to the fire burning inside him.

“It’s me.” She opened the door. Maybe, if she had still been dressed, he might have been able to control himself. Perhaps they would have only kissed and he would have been satisfied, but there she stood, wearing only a thin robe made of silk. Her hair was down, she had been combing it. All the passion inside him could no longer be controlled, she stepped into the room and slammed the door shut. He took her into his arms and kissed her deeply, passionitly, wanting to devore her. Pressing her body against his, only that silk robe seperating their skin. He broke the kiss and stepped back, she said nothing as he untied her robe, letting it fall to the floor. His eyes took in her body. So beautiful. He should leave, before it was too late, but he could not. He grabbed her again, kissing her once more, his fingers digging into her soft skin. He was hurting her a little, but she let him..her own finger nails scratching his back. He moaned and broke the kiss, pushing her onto the bed. He removed his pants as she watched, never saying a word. He climbed on top of her and looked into her eyes. She was a virgin, this would hurt, but only for a moment. He searched her face for a sign that she wanted this. She had to want this. Her eyes looked back into his, so full of love and trust. A smile danced across her lips and she whispered  “Yes”.

She wrapped her legs around his waist and lifted her body against his, inviting him. He entered her slowly, she hissed at the pain..the pain that turned into pleasure as he moved back and forth against her. Their hips moved together, slowly. This must last..not too fast. Her nails dug into his back as he bit her neck. He growled and moaned as she screamed with pleasure..moving faster and faster. She was his, he was inside her finally, they were one. They made love for hours. The world outside did not matter, the orb, the rifts, saving the world, nothing mattered but this moment. He forgot himself, there was only them...and then it was over.

They lay in each other’s arms, wrapped in the sheets. They slept, dancing in the Fade together.  The wolf was calm and returned to his cage and when the sun began to rise, he got up and put his pants back on. With one last last kiss, he returned to his room. The guards nodding as he walked past. No doubt they heard it all. Oh such talk later in the barracks. He laughed and waited for the others to wake.

I laughed for like 20 min. at this.  Well played.   I think because of my job - I handle labor/safety/OSHA for a large beverage company -and I'm just thinking about the paperwork and OSHA filings.

I mean, I made him kickass armor, so, his helmet isn't going to be the deciding factor on whether he lives or dies in battle. Give me blueprints for his original helmet, and he'll get a new one.

That's what the Winter Forge mod is for.  Switch the stats of the Warden's Oath and the High Regard of House Dace and you have an amazing yet meaningful amulet.
