So... I couldn't sleep last night and I wrote some smutty fan fic. It's NSFW. I haven't posted it anywhere so I'll just copy and paste it. I'm a horrible writer.

Solas paced back and forth in his room. The stone floor cold against his bare feet. He had been getting read for bed, having removed the uniform he had been wearing and was now only wearing pants, but now he could no longer get the imagines of Lavellan dancing and laughing at Halemshiral out of his mind. They had shared one dance on that balcony before Josephine interrupted, taking Lavellan away from his arms to talk to more nobles. Always more nobles. Congratulations on saving The Empress. He returned to the shadows, ignored by every one and watched her play the game. Every so often, a servant would pass by with wine and cakes, Solas would help himself. Hours after the ball had ended, he still felt the alcohol turning his normally calm and collected soul into passion and fire, the wolf needed to be free from it’s cage. He wanted her, he needed her. They had waited, waited for the perfect moment. He wanted it to be perfect for her, but he could no longer wait. They had quickly kissed good night before retiring to their separate rooms. They would spend the night at the palace and return to Skyhold in the morning, it would take several days. Solas could not wait that long. His body burned for her. He blamed the alcohol, but he also blamed himself. It had been so long, and she was in the room across the hall. He no longer cared if he was seen, sneaking out of his room in the dead of night. An elf wearing only pants, tiptoeing to the Inquisitor’s room. Oh, the soldiers that stood guard would talk in the morning, he laughed at the thought as he opened the door and walked over to Lavenall’s room. Was she still awake? He knocked.

“Who is it?”  her voice adding fuel to the fire burning inside him.

“It’s me.” She opened the door. Maybe, if she had still been dressed, he might have been able to control himself. Perhaps they would have only kissed and he would have been satisfied, but there she stood, wearing only a thin robe made of silk. Her hair was down, she had been combing it. All the passion inside him could no longer be controlled, she stepped into the room and slammed the door shut. He took her into his arms and kissed her deeply, passionitly, wanting to devore her. Pressing her body against his, only that silk robe seperating their skin. He broke the kiss and stepped back, she said nothing as he untied her robe, letting it fall to the floor. His eyes took in her body. So beautiful. He should leave, before it was too late, but he could not. He grabbed her again, kissing her once more, his fingers digging into her soft skin. He was hurting her a little, but she let him..her own finger nails scratching his back. He moaned and broke the kiss, pushing her onto the bed. He removed his pants as she watched, never saying a word. He climbed on top of her and looked into her eyes. She was a virgin, this would hurt, but only for a moment. He searched her face for a sign that she wanted this. She had to want this. Her eyes looked back into his, so full of love and trust. A smile danced across her lips and she whispered  “Yes”.

She wrapped her legs around his waist and lifted her body against his, inviting him. He entered her slowly, she hissed at the pain..the pain that turned into pleasure as he moved back and forth against her. Their hips moved together, slowly. This must last..not too fast. Her nails dug into his back as he bit her neck. He growled and moaned as she screamed with pleasure..moving faster and faster. She was his, he was inside her finally, they were one. They made love for hours. The world outside did not matter, the orb, the rifts, saving the world, nothing mattered but this moment. He forgot himself, there was only them...and then it was over.

They lay in each other’s arms, wrapped in the sheets. They slept, dancing in the Fade together.  The wolf was calm and returned to his cage and when the sun began to rise, he got up and put his pants back on. With one last last kiss, he returned to his room. The guards nodding as he walked past. No doubt they heard it all. Oh such talk later in the barracks. He laughed and waited for the others to wake.

Glad I'm not the only one who does that! I also kept Warden's Oath in my inventory throughout DAO and Awakening. It was so useless but I couldn't just throw it away!

 

I'm not much of a pack rat, but the two things that I did keep all throughout DA:I were Tyrdda's Staff, because I busted my ass looking for that thing, and the Token of the Packmaster because reasons

I've seen comments about Solas romancers being particularly crazy and I'm not sure why. I don't remember doing anything particularly out there as a group. There's not that many of us. And we've never done anything even close to Tali sweat level that I've seen!

I laughed for like 20 min. at this.  Well played.   I think because of my job - I handle labor/safety/OSHA for a large beverage company -and I'm just thinking about the paperwork and OSHA filings. 

 

Not only that! Judging from the timestamps, you obviously also master time travel. I am impressed. And a bit scared. Most of all impressed though. And I just pictured Josie having to deal with all those filings, Leliana standing next to her muttering "Do you know how long this will take? Let us just send my spies and get rid of everybody involved". And now please excuse my while I need to go for a while until I stopped chuckling about that.

I'm pretty sure any popular romance has their fans considered 'crazy'. I've seen the same said of Cullen, Dorian, ect.

 

That said, I will be the last person to claim sanity.

To be fair, I don't really like the smut stuff (just not my thing) but this thread tends to stay pretty on-topic with the whole 'Solas discussion' part.  And the ancient elf/elven lore talk is all part of that.

I can't speak for everyone, but I feel safe in calling Solasmancers "passionate", not crazy.

 

I've never actually involved myself in the forums like this, prior to DAI/Solas.  I always lurked the forums, when I needed support with letting my man have some hanky panky time with Morrigan, when Anders went nutso and blew up the Chantry, when Fenris left me after a night of hot sexy-sex, when Thane died... I just crept.  Crept so hard.

 

Partly because I felt there were some really volatile personalities, high-conflict persons who I avoid IRL, and I didn't want to necessarily get mixed up in all of that.  I never felt that here, I did my fair share of lurking, but saw that there was an openness to ideas, to differing opinions, sharing fics and art, and an overall sense of community, I guess?

 

I could be biased as I don't spend time on tumblr, where I hear a lot of the negative comes from there, as far as that goes, I don't see "crazy" here, so much as I see PASSION.

I'm definitely not going to claim sanity.  Besides, it's the Internet, and we willingly choose to hang out here.  We're all crazy to some extent 

 

I will say, I don't get why the Cullen fans have had the crazy label used on them.  They are seriously the nicest people, and Cullen himself is IMO one of BioWare's more normal, functional romances.  Maybe his detractors are just jealous of his fabulous hair

Odd.  The thread is about on topic as the rest of them(probably more-so).  I was wandering in another one yesterday and there were like 5 pages on Marvel.  It was totally and completely off topic. 

 

The romance talk does dominate the thread and I really wish we had more people like Colonel to get more diverse views on him as a non-romance and maybe temper the angst a bit. Though I think the thread is a bit of therapy for people.  People, trying to engage with others who felt a bit bereft at the end.  Which is nice.

I definitely did that.  Or rather, I modded out the silly Pringles mustache and beard, only to find another beard under the first one ><  Dude's got Beardception going on or something.  He does look better sans Pringles, though.

I wish my Lavellan realized what a lost cause Sera was before dragging her to every elven ruin in Thedas.

Cullen's thread, however, is much bigger and has been around much longer- and has certainly had it's fair share of volatile personalities (I definitely was one of them, heh) and so has had a longer time to breed drama- that with the stigma that Cullen is nothing but fanservice anyway. Which, who cares.

Besides I don't want my employees to make stupid mistakes due to limited visibility. That's about as bad as not upgrading their equipment. I might just as well send them out armed with a towel and a hair brush, saying "Get rid of that pride demon over there; try not to get killed, good luck" .
