Apparently her character thread got all kinds of disturbing after someone started analysing her sweat and what it would smell and taste like..

I think a lot of them got banned and the thread removed, so they apparently moved to their own website aaand that got removed.

 

If you google Talimancers you will find a lot of people asking why everyone hates them mixed in with some crazy, and a great urban dictionary description:

A Talimancer is a wild, rabid beast which is commonly encountered on the Bioware Social Network. They are unique animals since they are the result of an unfortunate occurence where a perfectly logical male gets infected by the Talimancus Romancus virus. This turns the human being to a drooling beast which crusades against everyone and everything who doesn't want to **** Tali, or find out what her sweat smells like. Talimancers are pack animals who group together, and they prey on anyone who doesn't like Tali.

If you encounter one in the wilds, the best course of action is to ignore it. However, if it is aggressive and tries to come at you, play dead. If you fight back, the beast will call it's pack to help him, and then you are fucked.

 

Aaaand I believe this is an example of that dreaded sweat conversation:

 

It started off as an analysis of Tali's sweat, trying to figure out what it'd smell and taste like. I quickly realised that most scents originate from bacteria, which would be minimal to non-existant for quarians. 
The next best thing, would be urea. Urea is essential for the metabolism of mammals, and also a bonding agent (For say, p-cresol and o-cresol, two odor chemicals found in sweat. Though these likely aren't available to quarians), and it, and residues of the amino acids and chemicals used in its production are excreted through many different ways. Urine, sweat, etc.

 

And people say it's the female fans who are the creepy romance-obsessed ones... Apparently Miranda and Liara had some crazy ban-worthy fans as well. Crazy be crazy for all genders.

 

I haven't seen anything remotely close to the ME romance madness here. Unless it all exists on Tumblr.

All I've seen on tumblr are people doing their best to be offended by everything and demanding people believe in their own headcanons for characters and plotlines. They don't have time to analyze weird crap like that.

To be fair, I'm pretty sure the Garrus thread asked his writer what kissing Garrus would taste like.   I think he actually answered too. Something about barbeque?

 

Oh my god, I found it. It was Patrick Weekes. And he answered multiple questions.

Tumblr has its uses, but it can be a minefield & I often find myself shaking my head at the drama that goes on.  I just keep to myself for the most part, post my feeble fanfic efforts, reblog other Solas stuff that I like & leave it at that.

Alright, I took the plunge into Solas' AO3 tag today as well (because I'm determined to debauch my day off, I guess) and have concluded that the reason so much of it seems awkward and gross to me is because people are picturing Lavellan as a teenage girl and Solas as her senpai.

Before Tumblr was a thing I used to be on LiveJournal getting involved with some of the fandoms for things I enjoyed. I found I enjoyed them less after.
There were often some real gems amongst the crap, but after a while not even those were enough.
I don't think I could join Tumblr and go back to that life. These things are my hobby, my fun to escape from the frustrations of reality. I do not need them being turned into SRS BSNS or drama. The drama being the most ridiculous part. It's fiction. It's not going to kill you in your sleep. Calm yo self.

Basically, if I was any more laid back I'd be horizontal, and was raised by a family that lovingly takes the ****** out of each other. I do not belong near the easily offended. I can cause outrage by breathing. Then they get more angry when I don't care enough to get involved in their heated arguments.
