All this talk about Cole's hat reminded me of why I think getting Solas to wear warden armor is hilarious. Also, he looks good it that armor. Hilariously.

My Lavellan's is the kind of person that loves her/his clan but wants her/his own life on their own...but when my male Lavellan lost his clan totally made the mistake of having Cullen do one of the missions and his clan died I.Was.Furious.

My husband is a musician. He likes post-rock "Explosions in the Sky / Mogwai / Toe" stuff. So he really loves when I blast K-pop boy-bands during writing breaks.  His reaction: "You are weird! Why God? Why?! AHHHHH!" Me: "Listen to the music of your people! I will sing in Korean for you!" Him: "Stop!!!"

 

He is NOT aware of any Solas weirdness on my behalf.

 

My husband listens to post-rock (Mogwai among the bands he listens to) AND J-pop. What kind of weirdo does that make him?

Uhh, on topic, though still somehow related to my guy. Strange statement of the day: I think Solas' hands look just like my husband's. Except y'know, lower-poly, 3D model form. I am a sucker for pretty, artistic hands. I would upload a picture of his hands if that were in any way acceptable behaviour.

Really?  I liked him a lot.  A little too stuck on honor, but it wasn't too bad.  I don't think I disliked Mhiris all that much until she called Solas a flat ear.  Grrrr.

I just really need all new character interaction, even if it's pure fanservice and silliness. I'd love to see what their idea of Solas fanservice is. 

I've got some ideas. Some of them perhaps based on that lovely NSFW art that was posted upthread. 

 

Seriously, I just want Solas cuddles. Or more Fade dates. I would turn to blood magic for more Fade dates.

 

I didn't take that choice because 1. Cass was there and 2. Virgins are boring, but wow, what kind of half assed demon, and a desire demon at that can't even deliver on virgins.

I despised Michel. I think he was a well-written character and I see how he can be interpreted in different ways, but his hypocrisy made me see red. Mihris wasn't a saint, but if I'd had my family slaughtered, I wouldn't be overly forgiving either (and she's only a teenager, right?). There were some real jerks in that Dalish clan, but they didn't deserve to be killed down to the last child.

Somehow, even knowing Solas is a god and after seeing what he did to those Kirkwall mages... I could still chance that for teh lulz.

On the other hand, Solas only uses "Ma nuvenin" twice in the entire game and never on Lavellan. I will never forgive Mihris for that. The Princess Bride has taught me that any variation of "As you wish" is heart-stoppingly romantic. In fact, that is going on the wish list for Inquisition Citadel DLC (Skyhold DLC?)

 

Dammit, now I want some Princess Bride-style Solavellan art.

It sucks that there's no jealousy dialogue. I like how in Origins if you were romancing more than one person you were confronted about it. And the LIs reaction to Zevran and Tallis flirting is so cute! I wanted more of that!

Since he was a half-elf.  He was deliberately trying to come off as an elf hater because he was afraid of his heritage.  Not saying he's a saint, but I found him to be a sympathetic character.  Mhiris just seems to quintessential Dalish it made my teeth hurt.

Yes, in a way, I understood her rage. She's still young; and to have your clan, your family, and you lover slain is just a horrible thing to experience. And yes, there were jerks in the clan, but even then I did not rejoice when those jerks were slain. That whole scene was just disturbing for me.

Heh. The jealousy dialogue was fun, but I have the feeling that Solas isn't the jealous type. He's too confident to be jealous out of insecurity, and he values Lavellan too highly to ever try to control her.

Hell, I like how you can romance more than one person.  Would have loved to have a run like that.  I feel like Solas wouldn't have said anything, just camera pan to arched eyebrow and then scrunchy face.

....It's the "Stop Purge of Wycome's elves".

 

With Cullen you get 60 Infuence but your clan dies.....my last pt was a male elf and that was the first time I got that far helping the clan. I thought Cullen would do a good job,obviously not.

You know, thinking back on TME, Bioware has a bad habit of killing off whole Dalish clans for dramatic effect. I think it's once per game now.

 

Which is why I made sure my clan stayed alive. Even reloaded after hours of gameplay in order to re-do one of the missions.
