I really would've liked to hear more of the other companions thoughts on Solas and Lavellan's relationship, like...
Cassandra: That Elvish word Solas uses to refer to you... it's a term of endearment, if I'm not mistaken.
Lavellan: You mean vhenan?
Cassandra: Yes, that one. What does it translate to exactly?
Lavellan: It means "heart."
Cassandra: So Solas calls you "heart" then? That's very... (sigh) romantic.
Lavellan: (laughs) Maybe Varric will include us in his next Swords & Shields book!
Cassandra: (disgruntled noise) Let's hope not.
XD ahahaha yeah... I want more of this!
why can't i like your post?! D:
Oh, God, I ventured out into the Scuttlebut forum and now I have regrets.
People are so annoying.
Should learn to just stay here in the blanket fort.
So, what's this "THE GIF" I hear people going on about?
Oh ho ho! That first one I likey!

And the second one is adorable!
Also, it seems I got my likes back... Not to sound like a noob, but how do likes replenish anyway? Because there are times when I'm able to like posts again and then after a like or two I'll be getting a notice saying I've used up my like quota for the day again. ![]()

It doesn't want to be liked because it wants to be added to the game! :3
We had the frescoe talk in this thread some hundreds of pages ago. Fiery art scholars pointed out how the wet medium nature of a frescoe meant that it was incredibly important that only the strokes Solas wants are made. Lavellan would paint on his frescoes, in progress or not, at great risk to their relationship... and probably the continued use of her hands.

I got my likes back too...no idea how this works.
This is my new favorite picture.
Is it tinfoil hat time? I think it is.
I've been trying to figure out if the archdemon mentioned in the Western Approach is still there or not. Here's the codex: http://i.imgur.com/SPt1Vxn.jpg
Arguments Against:
1. The Western Approach was the site of a huge battle during the 2nd Blight. It is very possible that Zazikel actually rose from this spot.
2. Even if the archdemon was NOT Zazikel (we can safely rule out Dumat and Urthemiel, since the Grey Wardens didn't exist before the 1st Blight and the 5th Blight took place entirely in Ferelden) , the land has been blighted for about 700 years. In fact, having so many darkspawn above ground during the 2nd Blight could have alerted the horde to the mystery archdemon's presence, making it easier for them to find later.
3. The ground shaking at the mine's location could be due to the instability mentioned in the codex.
Arguments For:
1. There are large concentrations of darkspawn in the area, even 700 years after the blight. Darkspawn are compelled to seek the old god dragons between blights, so their presence may indicate an archdemon in the area.
2. The warden author mentions a cave-in and instability. It could be that even darkspawn haven't been able to shift the rubble to reach the mystery archdemon yet. They aren't that bright, after all.
3. The mine is one large area with no hostile mobs. Vivienne's Favors the First Enchanter Quest is the only breadcrumb that leads a player to the area. It could be the devs WANTED players to find this particular codex. After all, why bother making the area, animating screenshake, and planting this fascinating codex if it isn't at all significant. (unless it's a total red herring?)
4. The ground shaking could actually be the audible "song".
So there you have it. I personally believe that there IS still an archdemon there, but I'm interested to see what other people make of it.
You know where the western approach is? Out west!
That's exactly where my thought process is going ![]()
I'm more than halfway convinced that whatever Solas is Up To, it has to do with the blight. Nothing else makes sense to me anymore.
*sighs* I love Halestorm. I found another song that would fit for how Halinia felt about Solas before he ended their relationship and thus brought her walls back up:

Then I found another song that fits her for the new version of her:

Have you guys seen this? Funny!
SpoilerEdited to include the full thing. XD
Ha! That was my Inquisitor the first 2 times I played the game...then I found the paths. ![]()

Aaaw so cute! ![]()
.
I feel like I need to give a shout out to a certain Colonel. He hath created a Lavellan for Solas, and I hath created a Trevelyan for romancing Cassandra. I started my Dorian romance, but I suddenly felt a mighty need to give Ser Killabee's true love a fair shake at romance. He's been accepted into the Geth Consensus, and I feel I must do my part to add to the Cassandra Consensus.
Also I basically created the opposite of your character. Shameless flirt with no beard or appreciation for commitment, especially if it involves Inquisitoring. Cassandra will be the one "fixing" him, that's for sure. And then I realized I basically created a noble-born pre-DA2 Anders.
Yes... my plan to steal Solavellans and make them Cassandryans... is WORKING.
Is it tinfoil hat time? I think it is.

The darkspawn could be there just because it's a large breakthrough. Why bother to keep making new tunnels without an Archdemon, when there's this awesome rift?
However, the rift is on the edge of civilized lands. Beyond the Gamordan Peaks, to the west, it's just the Sea of Ash and uncharted territories. They don't have prey there. The land is already damaged enough. (Maybe from a proto-darkspawn Blight in the past? *shrug* It's just strange to me that the elves had 'bits of territory in the west' .) And there's only the occasional wandering mad nerd like our dear Frederic de Serault to munch on, in addition to the Grey Wardens. I hadn't thought of that before your post.
Darkspawn patrolling the area while others dig? Perhaps that's what made everything shake? (The Wardens only heard the Song in the thaig itself, though of course the Song could still be causing the rumblings.) The darkspawn clumsily trying to dig through, lacking engineering knowledge?
I can easily picture Zazikel breaking open the Rift in the Western Approach as a courtesy to his still imprisoned brother. "I'm going to give you at tutorial in how to Blight the world and end human civilizations, okay, bro? Watch as I invade the Anderfels, they'll never expect it a second time!"
I wonder if some darkspawn keep digging for other Gods, or if they just want that Song. Depending on the relationship between the Old Gods, they might want back-up, they might not.
And now you've made me be solidly on the 'Archdemon is still down there' train. ![]()
You know what I'm looking forward to? Seeing and meeting a fully-fledged Archdemon with the new graphics and everything. Make them as scary and implacable a foe as they deserve.
